He's been collecting money for years. He's thrown out multiple opening dates and failed to reach them all. He said renovations were completed last August but somehow need more work done, etc. What kinda progress is that?
Yeah, most of ours are still asleep. They can fool the other asleep folks by being able to talk the talk, but none of them really know what the work is and either way and more importantly, are unwilling to put in the work.
This is a great observation to make/conversation to have with your potential future spouse. I personally was on the other side: It was the neediness of my former partner's mother that added to the reasons I ended the relationship. He made it clear that if we were to get married, his mother would come with him. His mother (who isn't elderly) selfishly made very poor decisions/life choices, and as a result, both her health and finances are suffering. As his potential spouse, the responsibility of taking care of her would also fall on me, and that's not something I'm willing to sign up for out the gate. Unpopular opinion: The vast majority of us have been groomed to believe that our role as adult children is to take care of our parents. No... a child does not ask to be here, and thus, should not be expected to provide for parents out of OBLIGATION. Every adult is responsible for their own life; mothers/fathers expecting their adult children to take care of them ESPECIALLY when they've spent a lifetime of living reckless and making poor decisions, is crazy as hell to me.
