Man when you talked about moving all your stuff out I felt the pain. I been on a nomad lifestyle for 5 months now and I moved my stuff around 4 times already. When you talked about the excitement of building a new permanent space, I then suddenly felt your joy and shared it 💯 I can’t wait for it to be a possibility for me too. Cheers mate
I can only imagine how much of a headache and work this must be for you guys but I’m pretty sure this “unfortunate” event will turn into something incredible.
shipping containers as modular housing/offices are always a fun idea, I would highly reccomend making sure you insulate them really well to avoid any condesation that could then be hazardous for mold, mildew, causing electrical shorts which would then cause fires. Insulating them really well will also help with sound absorption!
I love this because it shows that someone may seem successful, but there's always something going on that isn't working. Shows us that sometimes shit gets thrown your way and you got to find a way to deal with it.
Change is good ,You'll be bigger and better because of it. The shipping container idea is brilliant .Really looking forward to seeing how it plays out .Best of luck ahead !
I saved this video so I could watch it during an evening when I was relaxing. As always - just brilliant! I'm sad you got the news in that way but thrilled you all found a great solution. So the thing that gets me.... moving out from anywhere is so stressful, then you guys film it, then turn it into a video 🤯 my mind is blown. ABSOLUTELY loved it! and your scared/joyous feeling is a very fantastic place to be. I CANNOT wait to see the videos about the containers 📦
Woah, this one of the coolest, most well edited, engaging, & aspirational videos I've ever watched period. I can't wait to see where this goes. The shipping container idea is actually sick. I'm in a constant state of building/re-building parts of my studio at the moment so seeing another creator go through the same (though on a much bigger scale) is really freaking cool.
Sincerely Jesse, your videos are my favourite moment of the month. i just silence my phone and alerts, make a nice coffee and get away from the world just to enjoy it without distractions. keep on killing it! (also, absolutely amazing storytelling here! and... we would love more of the docu-drama about that doomed studio! release all you have recorded already!)
Dang this is awesome. I feel like a lot of creatives dream of a studio space that they can create in and you're actually doing it! Stoked to see it come together!
Cant imagine the amount of takes you guys did in this video, and what is yet to come in this series: folder organization needed! (video on that as well). Cheers from brazil, good luck guys! 🤘⚡
not sure why.... but when I read the thumbnail "we got evicted", I instantly thought 'congratulations!'... how weird. Necessity is the mother of invention and all that jazz. seriously, good luck on the big change and everything it can lead to for the next year and beyond. would be really cool to see how creative you get with your temporary long-term solution. Almost feel bad for the new tenants who seemingly will inherit all the issues you faced with the place (unless they were tricked into paying for all the renovations). wonder if the landlord ever told them the reality of the situation.
I work as an engineer for a company that modifies shipping containers and you are living out my dream of making a studio space out of one. Hoping in the next few years to convince my wife to let me put one in our backyard. Can't wait to see the progress!
Best of luck in the new space Jesse! Ngl seeing the studio in disarray so many times over the years made me feel better about my messy office. Something about the perfectly clean offices of other creators feels so fake to me. Like in a “show me the real you!” Kind of way.
Thank you for sharing all your videos while in this studio; very cool location. I hope you stay within the same city! Fingers crossed and hope to bump into you I'd love to say Hi. Looking forward to your studio space; hope the build goes well!!
Go for it and make that studio the one. By the hat extra scenes, I see it as a TV Show that you could produce and sell to Netflix or even better for your own channel as a series. Keep it up.
Sometimes being out of control forces you to be more creative. I can’t wait to keep following the process. The process is more fun than the final outcome. Love it Jesse!
This is such a cool idea! I would be super excited to work on building it out too! You should continue the "reality show" series, that could be fun too, I'd watch it for sure
HELL YES - First video I have ever seen by you, LOVE shipping container buildings, and industrial studio/loft spaces. Me: (background in photography and interest in video as well as graphic design) Sounds like a new sub to the channel, LETS GET IT!
That really sucks, that was such a really cool space, I have every confidence you guys will make the best of where ever you end up. I look forward to seeing this new chapter unfold.
Jesse, love you for sharing these candid looks behind the scene. It's so empowering as a creator to see the struggle and process behind the camera. Thank you 100x
This was one of your most entertaining videos, so nice to see the whole gang! Goodluck on the new venture at Evil Empire, you guys are going to do great things. Also looking forward to seeing Christoph turn it into a pig sty again 😅
Our lease ended on the 1st of December. The landlord wanted a 70% raise in the rent .. we could not afford that much... It was a nightmare finding a new place. So i know the feeling, but at the end, the new place is smaller, but the energy is much better... Enjoy the journey as it will be nerve breaking 😆
Changes are always good, new challenges are needed to grow more and more, I wish you all the best! P.D.: I wanted to ask where did you get the Canon down jacket, please tell me how can I get it!
This is a crazy journey. Your rag-tag crew are the perfect ones to take on this project and actually make it happen. Stoked to see the results. :) Edit: The short reality show at the end is golden.
Super good videos....I'm learning a ton....I'm way behind the rest of you in knowledge and lunch money...and donuts. Crazy behind on the donuts. I'm a landlord. It is rare if not ..never that I've asked someone to leave or raised the rent for that matter. When someone complains...I wish they would leave but I don't ask them to. Tenants are my employers so I try my best. The shipping cans are going to be great. There are entire offices designed around them in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, as well as down in DC. Great videos guys & girl!
What are the odds we put up a video about a strikingly similar situation on the same weekend? I’m so excited for this and it’s got me thinking about our first collab. I want to come up to your space and build you something custom for your space. No clue what yet, but it excites me and I need a reason to come up north.
Yo this is SO SICK! I have the exact same Idea to buy some shipping containers and make a studio in my backyard! Can’t wait to see the full series and get some inspiration. Keep it up dude!
Ahh man that sucks dude. The part I missed in all of this is, where did you guys put the shipping containers? Looking forward to the new setup and thanks for sharing!
You guys are making the best 9f a shitty situation. The "office build" series will be amazing, really looking forward to it. The "day in the life" video needs to be a thing that was great.
Would've loved to have seen the reality show of the studio come to full fruition. Fun fact: we have the blue Ikea couch that goes with the chair that you bought.
Dude I had that same thing happen in an old studio space of mine. Pipe burst above my office and everything came down directly on my desk and computer. So annoying
Seems like it was a nudge towards an amazing journey. Living vicariously through you. Also... The bonus clips... Hilarious... The Office-esque, Creative Studio version.
I love you guys, this channel has such a great content. I'm not trying to be mean, but you need to try harder with thumbnails and titles. This deserves so much attention, it's cool if you don't want to clickbait. But man... Building a dream studio is such a weak headline. You could have made it about containers, even the clean up or getting evicted is more interesting and less generic. I know the struggle, when you finish a story and edit a video, and you dont have title figured out. So i need constantly to remind my self that, success of a video is 50/50 content/click trough rate. I'm excited for every new upload, and more people should be too
Oh my dude I hope one day to have the time and energy to put into that side of things! For now though it’s just not at the top of my priority list. I’m really happy with where my channel is, I’m able to support my family while making videos that I genuinely like making, things are good! As the channel evolves this year this will be a bigger topic of conversation, but in the meantime I’m happy where things are 🤙
oh man thats a bit unfortunate for you BUT VERY FORTUNATE FOR US I love build videos & I know you are going to bring something spicy to the table in terms of videography Excited to see the next vid!
People always say that moving is good, it allows you to do a deep cleanse and start a new in a new space. Well I just have to say that in my 56 years and many apartments, three houses, and two major studios it doesn't just happen magically! I was out in my shed in my back yard last week (looking for something obviously) and I found a box that I literally packed when I graduated from high school back in 1983! This box hasn't been looked at in 38 years ????? and yet I have moved it all over the state of New Hampshire and to Vermont and back and I opened it and went "Awww look at this stuff!" closed it and tossed ie back in my shed. I'm seriously thinking about writing in my will that I want to be buried with this box. 🤣🤣 So that all said good luck with your move and throw out the shit you don't need! 😁
I like the "giant uhhh"! Nice, I feel better now! *makes coffee through screen .... uh, commented too soon... It's gonna be fantastic!! I'll watch from over here. Don't injure yourselves too badly.
Commenting in middle of the video, you camping advertising your sponsor, thought right time to type my comments you are my next best filmmaker and here goes my Ranking: Rank No. 1 Casey - Inspiration & Story Telling Rank No. 2 Peter - Coffee, Whisky & Story Telling Rank No. 3 Jesse - Sense of Humor, Transitions & Story Telling Rank No. 4 Matti Haapoja - Story Telling & I think he should be on the cover of beard and mustache care products.. Hope climax is good and you get your dream studio, ok i will get back to the video.
Lordy that reality TV clips were absolutely excellent. Especially Kristoph's fantastic delivery of "I blame myself."
Okay that transition under the table then down from the roof into another space was 🙌🙌👌👌👌
Seriously
Man when you talked about moving all your stuff out I felt the pain. I been on a nomad lifestyle for 5 months now and I moved my stuff around 4 times already. I can only imagine how much of a headache and work this must be for you guys but I’m pretty sure this “unfortunate” event will turn into something incredible.
This is exactly it. In a weird way this is kind of the push we needed to move on and get excited being in Evil Empire.
@@JesseDriftwood Right?? I hope to see the studio one day dude. So stoked for what it is and what it will be. Your work is so damn good.

the real reason we filmed that EOS R setup vid in our underwear comes out
I love this because it shows that someone may seem successful, but there's always something going on that isn't working. Shows us that sometimes shit gets thrown your way and you got to find a way to deal with it.

Stoked to see what turns out of the space! I worked on a production at evil empire last year and it has so much potential!
Shipping containers is such a cool idea! Also, the frustration and comedy in this video was all perfectly overlapping haha
Shipping container conversion is elusively expensive. Acquiring them and decontaminating them is quite a bit of work.
Woah, this one of the coolest, most well edited, engaging, & aspirational videos I've ever watched period. I can't wait to see where this goes. The shipping container idea is actually sick. Thanks so much dude! By the way I’ve watched so many of your videos haha! Love it!
@@JesseDriftwood Lmao no way! Thank you 🙏
This feels like the pilot to a whole new show I want to watch!
Kind of awesome to work in an office that’s literally traveled the world. I’d be so interested to find out the history of those containers!
We took photos of the container IDs hoping we'd be able to do exactly that someday...maybe.
Sincerely Jesse, your videos are my favourite moment of the month. i just silence my phone and alerts, make a nice coffee and get away from the world just to enjoy it without distractions. keep on killing it!

i literally send people your videos just to gawk at the studio (and then they enjoy the rest). that trend will continue!
congrats! looking forward to watching the build out!

That sucks... and is exciting... Totally understandable why you haven't posted... and I would totally love seeing the process of creating the studio!
Well this is just the most exciting thing. Good one. Painful to let go of your old studio but the new one is super cool. Lots of room to expand…
The shipping containers seem like they are going to rock and can't wait to see how that goes! Hope it all goes well for you guys!
Thank you for sharing all your videos while in this studio; very cool location. I hope you stay within the same city! Fingers crossed and hope to bump into you I'd love to say Hi. Looking forward to your studio space; hope the build goes well!!

The reality doc needs to happen hahaha. Loved seeing that footage again!
You excitement at a new project is palpable in the video! So excited to see it happening! Good luck!
Whoa! Glad you guys could make the best of the situation. We need to come visit!
Good Luck with the new place! This is hands down one of my favourite youtube channels. Would 100% watch that reality tv show.
Sometimes being out of control forces you to be more creative. I can’t wait to keep following the process. The process is more fun than the final outcome. Love it Jesse!
Consistently just making the best videos. Loved all of this, dude. Also, hey Dave!
Hey Matt!
This is such a cool idea! I would be super excited to work on building it out too! You should continue the "reality show" series, that could be fun too, I'd watch it for sure
I'm really excited to see how you renovate those shipping containers and turn them into offices!!!!!!!!
Good luck Jesse (and team)! Looks like you've got quite a bit work ahead of you. Best wishes!
How did I not know about this channel? Absolutely perfect story branding.
You talking about taking care of your equipment is very funny.
👹
Probably should install like 50 casters on each shipping container so you can move them around the building wherever you want
I am so excited for this series! if I lived closer, I'd totally y'all move out!
Those Dumpster trailers while dope should also be easier to keep clean. Good luck with the build Jesse. Luv your stuff.
Ok 1st, I’m super pumped for y’all and this creative solution to a big problem. 2nd, that reality show thing looks like it would be rad lol.

I always wanted to have a container office!! Excited to see where you go with it. Also so sorry for the insanely rude land lords. That sucks.
Love the storytelling and editing Jesse. Best of luck with the move.

This will be great Jesse!!! Hold on be strong my man... containers and that huge space is Top solution. Good luck.
Ok the mess makes me feel better about my own lack of organization with my equipment haha. Good luck and excited to see what’s ahead for you guys!
Hey when done you could do your own version of those I shipped my drawers commercials 😂
Dude I had that same thing happen in an old studio space of mine. Pipe burst above my office and everything came down directly on my desk and computer. So annoying
Super super stoked to watch you guys renovate the new spot! Love it! Excited for you to grow!
I'd watch this realty show. It's like the just fun parts of being there. So the best jokes cut down to a bite sized episode. I'm in!
Awesome to see the team evolve into a much better studio space -- Stoked! ✌🏼
Heck yes! This is going to be amazing! Can’t wait to see this all unfold
Seems like a good change. Hope better things are headed your way in 2022 :)
Uau, all the best for this new project!
Sounds exciting but also tough 💪🏻
Cant wait for the new series. Best news of 2022 so far :)
