Hello Jim, many thanks for your video, it was the right idea at the right time for my NV200 that had exactly this problem. The dealer quoted around 500.-€ just for exchanging the sensor, and that wouldn't have solved the problem. So I first changed the sensor (60.-€) but the light stayed on. After seeing your videos (all 3) concerning the problem I thought about it and decided to give it a try. But not only trying to clean the pipe with the brake wire..I thought about a solvent that could loosen the dirt in the pipe. And, I think my idea was not the worst: I took kitchen oven cleaner! Placed a small funnel in the rubber tube, filled it up with the cleaner and first started the engine. There I could see some small bubbles inside the fluid, was not really good. So, I tried the wire...could only enter about 10 cm down the pipe 😒 So I gave it some time to cure...and then started again. And, what happened? BIG bubbles coming up...by giving a little bit more throttle the fluid splashed out of the funnel 😉 After stopping the engine I could fill up the cleaner...and it disappeared down the pipe! After about half an hour curing time I put a paper tissue on the opening, started with a good throttle...the tissue was BLACK afterwards. So some more cleaner...curing time...in the third try the paper was almost clean. So I would recommend kitchen oven cleaner spray to solve the problem without changing the pipe. 😁
One additional thought from my side concerning the reason for this problem: This system should, as I understand it, measure a static pressure, what would mean, that there should be almost no gas flow through the pipe. When the engine is running there builds up the pressure in the pipe that should be measured by the sensor. So, no flowing gas, no big amount of dirt in the pipe. But when I demounted the sensor I had the feeling that the original hose clamp (this springy thing) was quite loose. I just could pull out the sensor without much effort. If this connection now is not gas tight there can go out out some gas at this place. As long as it is not too much the sensor will not claim missing pressure. But the downside would be that the now flowing gas also transports dirt inside the pipe where it sooner or later will block it. I exchanged this flimsy spring clamp by a solid screwing clamp like it's known from water hoses, screwed it down as much as possible and now have a better feeling that it will stay ok for a long time. 😉
Hello, thank you very much for your video. I have the same problem in this engine and thanks to you I will quickly deal with the clogged pipe from the exhaust pressure sensor. Thank you very much ;) Greetings from Poland ;)
Hi mate great video im having trouble on my renault megane 1.5 i needed to change the exhaust pressure sensor but my car had the old sensor with a different plug ive now changed it to the updated sensor that is on ur car but i cannot remember what way the wires go on the plug could you tell me what colour wires go were on the plug
Finally cleared the whole length of the pipe with a little aid from some Diesel particulate filter cleaner left on the tube over night...I used a motorcycle clutch cable for a little extra strength, used the out cable sheath as shown and then cut a length of bamboo to slide over that to hold it ridged...I ended up only exposing around an inch of the cable at a time to push down as it was really stubborn and then shortened the outer half an inch at a time...Just needs a test drive now.. Thanks for the Vid check out some of the others...What fault code reader and reader do you recommend for the Qashqai
I’ve had this pipe changed on a 2016 1.6dci qashqai had all the same faults figured out this pipe was blocked… since new pipe all the lights have gone but the car is still feeling like it’s being whacked up the back occasionally when taking off/driving along normally doesn’t cut out but does a couple of judders… i thought it was linked to this blocked pipe but I’m now assuming it’s not? Was this qashqai doing that and did unblocking the pipe help yours?
Hi guys Thanks for all your comments and questions. In response to this Fault with your Qashqai. It is important to note that my suggestions may not successfully work and other methods may do the job for you. EGR cleaning liquid could also do the trick. The main objective is to clear out the pipe. Because if you attempt to remove it from the manifold, it may shear off like mine did. Thanks for watching folks and keep subscribing. Cheers 🍻
Would you recommend using a carb cleaner, when using the brake cable inside the pipe? Thanks. Great video by the way. Nissan quoted me new sensor, pipe and labour @ £395 - I told them politely to poke it! ☺
Hi jim. The drive belt on my qashqai broke while driving and I've replaced it with a new one. But car won't start! Any idea what issue might be? Thanks 👍
I’ve had the same problem done exactly what Uve done even cleaned the dpf and the light will stay off for a while then come back on , any ideas ?? Good video by the way 👌
Hi jim Used your trick on my dacia duster...lots of smoke an soot blown out...would squirting carburetor cleaner down the pipe and letting it sit for a while be a good thing goin forward Thanks Anthony
Hi Jim great gadgets for all the problems and really appreciate your hard work. Question for you my sister has a nissan qashqai Dci 2010 with 200k on it, no warning lights coming on. But first and second gear very flat only when you get to third dose she start really going up from there no problem just very flat in low down, any ideas what could be the problem. Thanks again and keep up the great work 👍.
Hi Jim Thanks for this idea Can you please make some tutorials about turbocharger and any ideas either Nissan qashqai power steering is oil pump or electric
Complimenti grazie a lei sono più tranquillo visto che ho una Nissan qashqai e ho avuto lo stesso problema da lei illustruto nel video. Farò come lei ha fatto.Grazie.
I cleaned my EGR like you did and i did well. I had engine faillure orang keeping on . The engine was not running wel can it be the catalytic converter. I was driving on the highway and tried to accelerate bud there was no power and did not go abover 125 km per hour . Is my turbo broken ??
Hi Jim really enjoyed the video. My wife's qashqai has done the same but it's flagging up code P1453 but I can't find much info on it. Could it be the same problem?
Hi Jim looking for advice on how to fix a sticky exhaust flap valve which is causing a P1484 to show up on my 2016 qashqai thanks in advance take care and stay safe
@jessnielsen3771 for 0 sekunder siden it takes under 5 minuts with af grease gun filt with injektor clean and connected to the pipe with a stell armed hose
Hi Drive a Nissan Pulsar same 1.5 dci engine, I only get this fault in Winters specially between 5-10 degree Celsius, Is it only me or does anybody else get the same issue.
The sensor detects the exhaust pressure. When reduced pressure is detected, this is likely to be due to DPF blockage, so it will begin the warning process

Very useful thanks jim
I have the same issue but cannot get the sensor removed to enable me to access the pipe. Any help would be appreciated.
What make and model is the code reader please Jim?
I tried this but could not remove the sensor to access the pipe. Any assistance would be appreciated (Kadjar owner).

Hi where I can find qashqai 2015 1.2 petrol Exhaust gas pressure sensor. Please help me. All lights are on in my qashqai..
Help me please 😢 🙏

Ok, great video, but you gave no effects, apart from dash lights, or what the valve actually does, or symptoms.
The sensor detects the exhaust pressure. When reduced pressure is detected, this is likely to be due to DPF blockage, so it will begin the warning process
Hi Jim Could you please tell me the name of your ODB Reader And Price Please
sorry I Meant OBD Reader
