Bruce, you are absolutely right. The Omega Constellation brand is definitely underrated in the USA. The Constellation brand is extremely popular in Asia and Europe. I do love the Omega Constellation Annual Calendar with the green dial. Omega calls the bezel coin edge instead of fluted. It’s absolutely stunning.
Correct! Because many Americans have a very narrow perspective of the world. RUclipsrs too. In an interview aeschlin said the constellation is their largest seller more than speedmasters and seamasters. The Chinese president and first lady both wear the blue constellation. So are many powerful officials. It's seen as an auspicious thing for them because of the double eagle claw design... representating grip on power/etc. Best regards
Not really because it takes much longer to change the date every time you wear it, so if you only travel a few times a year it’s more inconvenient than a quick set date function
Could be a dress watch, but IMO this size works better in casual or semi-formal applications, like I view my DJ41/Wimbledon. Beautiful Omega, I think due to that blue ceramic bezel. The dial is a stunner as well. Thanks Bruce!
Just bought one in Black. Hidden gem, I immediately fell in Love with. I wanted a Planet Ocean, but immediately changed my mind after having that black beauty on the wrist. Thanks for your opinion, which ist totally in line with mine.
i've had this very model for over 2 years now - chose it over the AT and Seamaster after trying them all on - you're right, this flies under the radar and compliments my collection well as i have nothing dressy/sporty - all divers and sports... I wear this for formal occasions and every work day in the office - absolutely love the strap - dressy but the rubber underneath keeps it clean and feeling sporty. The clasp is perfect with no loops, strap excess. Very very under-rated watch and always gets compliments..... this to me is the "harder choice" as every man and his dog seems to choose the Speedmaster, AT or Seamaster over a Connie.....and that's why i love this!!
Last month I got the 39mm steeland rose gold model. Its beautiful and the bracelet articulates beautifully due to its pin and sleeve design. I wear mine confortably on a small 6.25 circumference wrist.
I have this exact watch and I can't help but look at it everytime it's on my wrist. My only gripe is that it's ungodly difficult to find some alternate straps for this one. Other than that, it's 10/10
A beautiful watch. This is one of the reasons why I have my rule of "only one watch per brand". Otherwise, I'd have a bunch of Omegas, including this one.
Thanks Bruce. I bought my wife a constellation eons ago (quartz) which is gorgeous and she still wears. I doubt this would’ve come to my attention but for your video. Nice watch!
I have this in black ceramic and textured silver dial. I love it, I bought it for a dress piece but found it works well somewhat casual as well. Underrated model in my mind.
We're wall just consumers lol. Enthusiasts aren't some sort of higher status individuals. Nice to be able to flip when you fall out of love and want to get most the cash back. The popular models does have that benefit. This one is nice but gonna take a big hit when you decide to sell.
You might be surprised Bruce, constellation is a bigger seller than the speedmaster/seamaster. Because different markets like different things. In China even the president and first lady are wearing the constellation...many like the double eagle claw because it signifies a solid grip on power etc. It's an auspicious thing for them. You will see many govt officials liking them. Best regards
The ppan dial indeed. This watch makes me long for the old days when people wore suits (with shoes!), wore watches with hands, and actually went to work 5 days a week to interact with other people 😊
This is based off of the Constellation Manhattan. The Globemaster has the pie pan dial from the dog leg Constellation. Then the case, fluted bezel, and hands came from the C case Constellation.
I do like the Constellation line from Omega and I must say I do like the models with the 'claws' that were originally to hold the crystal as you mention. Personally I still prefer my Constellation Globemaster blue dial on leather ref 130.33.39.21.03.001. It has the pie pan dial with the observatory medallion in the middle of the display case back and if I recall correctly it was the first Master Chronometer watch from the brand. I'm not sure if my model is still available although it's still shown on the Omega web site. Many thanks for sharing.
Actually, it has. On the caseback, it says Constellation. I own one of these. It has the observatory picture on a medallion on the caseback, too. Bruce would know, afaik he once owned or at least reviewed one.
My next purchase, smart casual wear watch. I’m beginning to favour omega over rolex, everyone has a Rolex these days, for me rolex has lost the exclusivity it once had. Sold mine and moving into other brands that I like.
The lume is the only thing that really lets me down. I like the older Constellations where they were lumed at every hour marker. That really sold it to me as an integrated sports watch. Still great looking, I just like the sportier dials a little better.
@@GS-nx5ud 39mm is too big??? You mean to be a perfect reissue? I don't see Omega putting a 36mm or whatever mens watch into large volume production mate
the more youtubers say the constellation and globemaster are not under the radar and not hyped, the more they will become hyped. this happened with the polar explorer 2...it used to be the oddball rolex sports watch that the masses didn't want. then social media went off about it being underhyped, causing everyone to go for it, which then made it hyped. Teddy B and other people have already been saying the same thing about this and the globemaster. soon these will be a lot more popular due to the youtube influence. it's not a bad thing at all though, it gets more attention on some amazing pieces.
But RUclipsrs are a tiny noisy minority. Contrary to RUclipsrs' perception...the constellation with the double eagle claw is actually a huge hit for omega in the far east. In China especially, you can see even the president and first lady wearing them. Same with govt officials etc..the double eagle claw is auspicious they say. It means a grip on power etc. 🎉 Anyway, hope this helps giving you a fresh perspective from other cultures 😊
I'm guessing this watch looks better in person. I believe it. I'm not sure about those 3/9 double bands across the bezel. They look a bit too "superhero" to me. They make me think of a Marvel themed watch. Other than that, I really do like it.
You'd be surprised at how well the double eagle "claws" are favored by Chinese. You can see the Chinese president and his wife and many officials wearing the constellation with the double eagle claw...to them this signifies grip on power and prosperity. It's supposed to be auspicious. That's why the constellation is such a big seller for Omega in the far east. 🎉 Best regards.
My struggle with the constellation is that I dont know what it is. Some watches are GADA but this feels like a GNDN (N=nowhere). I just dont know when I would wear it. I do like that they are still trying to evolve this line though.
@@WatchesOnWood you can pretty much wear it anywhere with the rubber strap and 5bar water resistance. Kinda subjective what you perceive as GADA aesthetics tho, but it's quite capable to be worn anywhere.
It's a strange one this one. I wouldn't choose it over the Globemaster, and that's the Omega I want most. It's either one of those in blue or a vintage Constellation with the pie pan and the crosshairs like you put up as an example. I just think they're gorgeous watches that are super underrated. But this Constellation just has nothing that recommends it over the Globemaster to me, which is a lot more elegant and considered design wise, whereas the Constellation feels dated and somewhat confused.
Nice but i prefer the globemaster, although thats too thick , and thats the trouble with most omegas now. They need to slim down a lot of their models , because dressy / sporty shouldnt be more than 11mm really.
I would love you venture in vintage watch, with Ur insight would we refreshing. A curve ball, omega seamaster mariner I, quartz era that sign an age. Try it out I think u could like it, so different that what float around...quite approachable...
Love my Constellation! Its really comfortable, discreet, perfect for any attire. A hidden gem in the watch world
This is gorgeous piece with a beautiful design… hasn’t gotten the marketing focus it deserves… the movement, the dials… great value there

The jumping hour hand is such a hidden and cool feature of the model. That really should be the selling point...a travel watch in disguise.

This is why I consider myself an Omega fanboy. So many different models that I want to buy. Yeah that Constellation is really sweet. Great job Bruce.

I’ve always wanted a pie-pan constellation… A little over a year ago I saw a beautiful blue dial pie-pan. That one had a lot of pizzazz… Check it out!
