Hey Jmac ~ curious how you handle selling $1-3 cards on eBay AND at shows (I set up at shows). How do you manage if someone buys multiple cards (think stacks of 10,20,50 cards at a show and then pull those off eBay?
I’m 15 and I sell what I can afford on my dads eBay account and it helps me so I can keep going up and profit enough to build up for PC Cards and for my college. 95% of my sales are $1.50-$25 sales
I have a whole bunch of NASCAR trading cards and some of my own personal baseball cards from the 80's that I want to try and list.....nothing worth too much money, most of them are junk wax cards.
That's awesome am doing same thing with my son. Stay ambitious, good things happend to those that are patient and are willing to put the work in. Stay on ur grind. Good luck !!!
JMac - you’ve figured out quite a lot in your short time selling. Your business model is spot on. I started and have progressed similarly since 2014. Every collection purchased is both a treasure hunt and a challenge to maximize the ROI. And great job on the channel and your informative videos. The Epson printer trick was very useful.
Good video. I've been selling low end for about a year now. Even when prices fluctuate like they do, there will always be people buying low end. Staying consistent with listing everyday is the hard part. Get over that hump and week by week watch your store grow! Nothing more satisfying.
Great video, totally agree with you,I used to sell loads of $1-2 cards but I simply didn’t have the time, having a full time job and selling cards is difficult
My kind of guy! Thank you for being you and not trying to sensationalize every damn thing like some of those other d-bags. Thanks again and enjoy your content
I sell mostly only low end. Sell about 30-50 a week to support my PC and other hobby ventures, and obviously buy more to sell. I make money on every card and it’s fun offering the cheaper cards to people who don’t want to pay $5 for shipping. I love it.
I do very similar- except I don’t do near as much volume, but you’re right, I’ve made thousands of dollars and built a nice collection just buying and selling low end
Another big aspect of being a lower end seller is that it’s much easier to sell multiple cards and turn over your stock a lot faster. When I buy, I like to pair a few cards from one seller, which is much easier if it’s priced lower
That's great you are doing well selling low dollar cards, that is what I want to do someday after I retire. I sold mostly high dollar cards I cashed out of during 2020, 2021 but I sold some dollar cards as well to build my seller feedback and I enjoyed selling the cheap stuff more because I never worried about something happening to the package like I did with the expensive cards.
Another cool thing about the ability to buy collections (since you arent afraid of moving lower end cards ) would be the treasure hunting aspect of it. How many gems have you found and how much fun do u get going through stacks of the unkown? Maybe the rush of ripping wax? Could be a cool video maybe your favorite “finds” in the wild. Love the content man keep it up!!
Completely agree! I enjoy the hustle and satisfaction of getting rid of cards that another collector would enjoy and make a couple bucks back to buy more.
Great video. I've had much better luck getting good cards, quickly, and well packaged from the "smaller" sellers than I have from these large sellers. I love buying low end cards as the enjoyment for me is getting to see all the fun cards.
Very interesting. Thank you. I think I'm going to do that myself. I just was surfing through RUclips When I saw this video and it really encouraged me. I'm going to start doing that myself
Great video! I have been critical in the past and you responded directly to my comments. I will definitely tip my cap to you on this one. Very authentic audio. Congrats on your success.
How do you get views on your listings? I have over 600 low end cards on my eBay store but don’t get a lot of traffic and notice there not getting a lot of views.
Was watching storage wars and dave hester said that the goodwill helped him with his thinking when his business wasnt doing well but showing him to sell the lower end stuff like nick nacks and how u will make more money off of that then trying to sell big high dollar items like a $5000 dining table set. Guess the same applies as to what the guy in the video was saying
Great video! Just have a couple questions! 1. I don’t have a ton of cards that are interesting enough to sell. Where can I find cards when I can’t go to card show. 2. When buying cards what goes through your mind on figure what to buy. Like what to you sells quickly on eBay. 3. Is there a estimate on how many cards I need to post to start getting traction. Thanks so much
I've also made pick lists for all my commons and make them buy 2 get 2 free and move those junk base cards. Get them up there quick when a new set comes out and you can make a lot of your money back that you spend on boxes!
I appreciate the topic. I am an ebay seller and 95% of my cards are low end. I put in alot of work to move them but I love doing it. I wish I could sale them as fast as you do but maybe one day. Thanks for what you do!!
Just stumbled upon your channel. I sell ephemera and 90% of what I sell is in the $3-10 range. If you have backstock and a good listing/inventory process you can do just fine on low end items. Keep up the good work.
Low end cards is where the money's made fellas! $1 to $5, $2 for shipping (postage stamps, cardboard, and letter envelopes).....the biggest challenge is finding inventory, and dodging buyers who want combined shipping charge.....
This is awesome JMac I have the exact same mindset when it comes to selling low end cards! A lot of people see those cards as throw aways but I see it as money to be made like you said! I love when people get all weird when I tell them I do it part time because they think high end is the only cards that sell haha there’s money to be made in it! It’s worth the grind in the end
Thanks for the info. As a buyer I agree with a lot of what you are saying on some of the larger sellers. I will buy from Burbank but skip COMC as soon as I see them. They are slow and their shipping is outrageous. Can't buy inexpensive stuff, it will cost you $10 for a $3 card and you wont get it until next month... Good luck!
You mentioned "high fees" as a deterrent to utilizing COMC ... Arguably relative, but if you're smart about it, it can still be profitable and take much less of your time than eBay. I've been on COMC now for over 2 years, have sold over $8K of cards on the platform - as long as you do mass submissions on "fresh pulls", you processing and postal fees are reduced significantly. You do have to do a good deal of research to determine which cards have the best chance of selling on the platform, but in general any product that has just come out will easily sell (mainly since there is little competition and you can sell at more of a premium). To me time is $, so now that I have my system down, I can make a very nice profit on cards that average @ $2 sold -
New subscriber. Well said. I don't do the volume you do but I do around 40 or 50 cards a week in the 1 to 10 dollar range. It's a nice way to get more for my PC.
I like the way you explain it all. I recently got my dads collection its like 50,000 plus cards im trying to get an idea of what i really got before i start selling i will follow your cast i have a million ? Thanks
What's up JMac love the video. Here something you might want to do a video on. When should you give a Discount on your items? Or should you send your customers a 10/15% off on there next purchase? I'm new to eBay and you video have helped me out a lot I appreciate you brother. Thx
Most of my ebay store is .99 - $5 cards and almost everything I list sells, some stuff sells a lot more that what I think it’s actually worth it surprises me. I do .99 auction on every item, sells for more than when I list it for a set price in my experience
i feel like if your in the hobby its a nice this to do on the side while working and building your collection, you have a nice business going low end cards are great but its all work gratz on the sucess and love the channel
is it worth it listing old edge worn cards on ebay? the typical cards you would see in fb marketplace lots for sale that may have some edge wear, I understand bent and damaged cards are not worth it.
Man always appreciate the insight of selling on Ebay and the good advice. Your videos help me out alot. Thanks again and can't wait for the next video.
I’m a clothing seller on eBay. Did just under 250k in sales last year. I pretty much only buy clothes that have close to a 100% STR in 90 days. I was thinking about getting into flipping cards as a little side hustle of a side hustle. In the sports cards world does STR matter as much? When I was doing some research on cards that sell between $10-$20 it looks like majority of cards have a STR of %30 or less. Is this pretty typical in the sports card world and the only way to drive sales is my volume?
Totally agree with your strategy. I do the same. And made 12k last year on the side - that’s 1k a month essentially. It must be a generational thing - lol, cause I’ll take a buck when ever I can!!!
I literally just started this month after watching these kinds of videos, and I made $187 in March just selling $1.50-$10 cards. Not much, but again, just getting started. Can only go up from here.
@@boogphilly8321 it's the perfect time with prices down! Especially for low level flipping...the $5-$10 card range doesn't "take market hits" like the high end stuff. That's the beauty of it. A $5 card today will 99% likely be $5 tomorrow.
I just came across this video and i love it......... one main question i have though is when you refer to low end cards, is that like Base cards? Thinking about going back to doing Pick & Choose listings with a bulk discount on it but not sure for all my base cards when i open product
Hello Sir. I watched your video. I love doing Ebay selling cards. i have around 1100 listings. Really selling many low selling cards sit there for months or even years. I assume you have thousands listed so obviously the more you have listed the more likely to sell a card. I guess if you love what you do it isn't work. With the 13.25% Ebay fee and .34 cent insertion fee which we all cover in our shipping price (I'm from Canada) selling a dollar card is good but at the same time the packaging, sending it out. To make it worth it you have to sell 50 a day. You got to admit alot of low end cards just sit there. I would love to know your thoughts sir! Thank you! :)
@@JMacSportsCards No, it's not. I can tell you right now you had to work hard to find bulk buys, network and sift through it for the stuff that will sell your first year. You're fortunate most people won't deal with low end like you said. More out there for you. I would imagine you have a good network built up now, so it's not as hard for you, but for the average person it's difficult to start off on this strategy.
@@Leshil yep it really is.... Every card show in every city has $1 boxes with value to be had. Its literally the easiest thing in the hobby to source for. Anyone can pick up a hundred cards for $75 from dollar boxes from strangers with zero network and double their money.
Subscribed! Great stuff JMac! Would love to see how you scan, price and list but I may need to just watch more of your older videos. I list cards for 99 cent auctions and charge $1 shipping. Would love to figure out how to get more traffic/volume. THANK YOU!
I sell high and low... 2 dollars, 200 dollars. Dont matter, my store has a wide variety. I hope everyone heeds what youre saying. Its not always about the hundred dollar sales.
Sorry this may be a dumb question I just know nothing about card selling. I specialize in Clothing on eBay. How does Burbank not lose money on the .99 cents items? Wouldn't it cost more to ship than that? I'm confused.
Shipping single cards costs $0.60 each through eBay. I believe I heard Rob say they sell between 5,000-7000 cards a day on eBay if they net $1 on those thats an avg of $6k per day x 365 days = $2.19 million dollars per year.....
Love watching your educational videos on this great hobby that we love. I'm learning all I can before I start my journey of selling on Ebay. In a future video, can you speak about if you have cards with $1.00 shipping, for example, and a buyer buys multiple cards? How would you go about combining the shipping ? Thank you JMac
So super odd I ran across your channel a few days ago and was watching "why I sell low end cards" because I have started to dip my big toe into the water of selling and collecting cards and long story short im pretty sure you live in my home town in Arknasas because I was looking for cards and seen your listing. Small word any ways love the channel

Thank you! :)
Awesome info. Thanks for sharing
You bet!
So is it best to list every card individually? Or to make a consolidated listing like “complete ur set” type listing with hundreds of cards.
Individual
Sourcing is the real issue with this style. It’s great, but consistent sourcing is the struggle for most.
Sourcing for low end is the easiest of all in the hobby, sorry bud, this is a bad take...
THANK YOU!
How do u charge only $1 shipping ? With the ebay envelope thing ? If so how does that work ? Like where do u get th3 envelope as an example.
Great video! Do you list each one individually or use the variations feature to list a whole batch at once? Trying to get started selling myself.
Thanks, Individually.
@@JMacSportsCards Ohh wow, way cheaper than I thought. Those numbers are insane, makes total since, thanks!
I HAVE A CAST IRON. BABE RUTH BANK LOOKING TO SELL.. ITS OLD 100 YEARS OLD OVER
Love watching your educational videos on this great hobby that we love.

@@kyleMcf oh yeah been to Searcy a few times
You're blowing up JMac! Was expecting the "ain't nobody got time for that" clip, but then you pull out Clint Eastwood, we'll done sir.
Haha love that movie!!
Don't many cards get lost through the mail though?
Nah
Still one of the coolest hats. Need me to get a patriots like that
