    Today, we will be checking out the brand new trail network in Cherokee, North Carolina: Fire Mountain. Fire Mountain boasts around 11 miles of fresh cut singletrack, and it's just the beginning.
    I joined up with my friends Stout Paul, Ty, and Theresia to check this place out for the very first time, and to sample the newest addition to wnc which has already begun to receive some positive talk.
    The real question is though, can this take down the classic Ridgeline trail in DuPont?
    You tell me!!

    You're an amazing leader in the mtb youtube community. I've learned so much watching your videos. It's showed me how to improve my own. Thank you, Alex! I've just uploaded a riding video with a trail that's so similar to this one! It's crazy. There's tons of flow and the jumps on it are huge. It was my first time clearing all of them (I overshot a bunch as well) so my reactions were... interesting. I was scared af! :P I wondered, maybe I shouldn't show this in the video, but I've learned from you that genuine personality makes the video great. Thank you for leading by example. I really appreciate it.

    Fun Fact: The similarities between this trail and Ridgeline are no mistake! Trail Dynamics out of the Brevard area built this trail system and they also are responsible for how flowy Ridgeline is now. I wish the Forest Service would let them redo more of the old washed out trails around Pisgah and the area.

      Not everyone likes the IMBA standard "flow" trails. Using the natural terrain for trails is what makes them unique. When trails like these are built you cant tell the difference between Arkansas trails or NC trails. I can assure you that there are tons of people who don't want the trails in Pisgah bastardized by a mini dozer to make a "flow trail". Go to warrior creek if you want that generic stuff, leave Pisgah outta this!

      Have you ridden Hobs Hollow at Brown County? Its fast and flowy like this trail but it has about 100 table tops and doubles on the way down! Some are 30'

    Alex,
    OUTSTANDING Vid! Fire Mt. is now my trail of choice in the area! Ride it as much as possible a week & can't get enough! Just a short drive from Sylva & WCU. Flow & Speed around 30 mph on Noble Mt Dragstrip are common with super fun flow throughout this 10 minute continuous downhill! And BERMS! YES the BERMS & TABLES are a BLAST!!! Especially on Kessel!!! THANKS SO MUCH JEREMY HYATT / TINKER for realizing your dream to build such a quality trail system!
    Alex, hit me up, I am the Baseball Coach @ WCU, would LOVE to have your crew back out for a Fire Mt night ride soon, then hit the WCU trail system too! YOU WILL also ENJOY our 7.5 little gem in the Whee that was built by the same company!
    Keep up your fantastic, inspiring MTB passion!!! We all greatly appreciate you Alexander!

      I really appreciate that. I"m a simple dude, and I like that. I definitely think it's also reflected in my vids which means I have to rely more on fun times, friends, and laughs to make for an entertaining video... all things that I love

    • @mikedespeaux769
      @mikedespeaux769 7 лет назад +1

      I ride it on my hardtail all the time. Also on my cross bike -- the xbike isn't ideal on the Kessel Run Descent because of some rock features there but it's better than a mountain bike on the climbs and on the flowy descents like Spearfinger. The softail would be better on Kessel Run but unnecessary anywhere else.

    • @simonfarr8670
      @simonfarr8670 7 лет назад +1

      Peter Newport,
      I ride all the time in Pisgah with a pretty low-end 29er hardtail, the key I've found is learning to lessen your weight over rock gardens, sort of a small bunny hop if you will. If you can learn to do a stoppie or an endo, it'll totally change the game with a hardtail.

    Dude, that looks supper flowy! The first time I went there 20years ago, there was no bike trails, just hiking trails. I was new to mnt bking riding a Redline full rigid hardtail. I plan to go shred that trail soon. Great vid and editing. I live in Florida also, Panama City Beach. Pine Log State Forest is my local trail. A 6 mile loop with another 10 mile loop across the road (Crooked Creek). Check em out. It's on Trailfork.com. Check my vid. Mike and Dom on Thunder trail @ Oak Mountain State Park. Keep the rubber side down!!

      You will not be disappointed! I recommend riding it in the order that we did otherwise you may end up just doing kessel over and over since it's SO DAMN GOOD!!!

    Alex, I'm curious about a couple of things from the perspective of recording your videos. First, how many minutes/hours of video to end up recording on average for each video? And second, what are your queues for where your edits should be when compiling your videos? Finally, what software do you use for editing?
