Caitlin, I've been following you for five years now and I always loved your recipes, but in the past few month you really stepped up your game! There is something in every video and soup week was a crowd pleaser when I tried a few of those. I'm amazed by your creativity!
Been putting mustard on potatoes for over 30 years - I discovered how tasty it was while cooking home fries one Sunday morning up in the mountains. Glad to see it here.
These are so great! They look affordable too. My family is extremely food insecure and have trouble staying vegan since the food bank is a gamble with what you get. Think we may try to get some of these items from the store to make if possible.
Thanks! I make a similar meal but I never use oil in the pan to cook my mushrooms. I just put them in the pan without oil, and control the heat. Lions Mane Mushrooms are another option if you want something that’s more like lobster smell and taste.
Been watching you for years even before I went vegan and it’s so amazing seeing how your recipes have evolved over time! These are some of your best recipes yet!
I saw a Grilled portobello mushroom recipe like this a few years back. It used red wine, soy sauce and a couple other things. I don't think it was intentionally vegan. It was an "anti cancer recipe "
Don't know how you do it, but you've out done yourself :-) Gorgeous, creative, mouthwatering, Thank you for all you do, and share. Am curious if you went to professional cooking school? You are so talented & informative. P.S. The piccata has stolen my heart!
All your videos are always so great. The recipes on this one all sound fantastic. I love your reading corner couch you have with that window and that VIEW! The Pacific NW is so beautiful....very happy to live up here too. Your dogs are so happy!
Caitlin, thanks for the oil free. Btw I never fry my onions in oil or liquids. I dry fry and it works. If I forget them for a bit and they start to stick I may put a tiny bit of liquid...like a Tblsp. I think the flavor is so much better than when I used to put water in pan in the beginning. I have also fried them with mushrooms which gives off a little water to help with sticking.
I know this isn't the topic of this video, but I was wondering if you could try and make a vegan frosting recipe. I have one that I like and is good to eat, but it hardens after awhile, and it separates from the cake.
Love all your videos.. very creative and yummy recipes. Going to try all of them. Can you please share a link for the mortar and pestle you used in this video.
Maybe I misspoke - I was trying to say if you want more protein you can serve them with crispy tofu, etc. but for one night it’s ok to eat a mushroom as a main :)
As long as you have had protein in other meals/snacks throughout the day you should be fine and since it's a recipe you won't have every day it's ok as a meal once in a while.
@@davidthescottishvegan I completely agree. It's just that there's is this very common misconception that mushrooms are a great source of protein and I thought Caitlin was reinforcing that, so I thought I should point that out. But I just misunderstood what she said ☺️
The tofu piccata looks delicious! I haven't had piccata in so long. I've wanted to make risotto for ages and finally found Arborio rice so this is perfect timing :D
haha. I noticed that too. But she also always refers to Dylan as her partner. I refer to my partner's mom as my mother-in-law even though we are not "technically" married.
There’s something I don’t understand ...why call things ” steak ’ or ”meatloaf” since these dishes are vegan ? Why refer to meaty products ? I eat lots of vegan meals but am not vegan

Caitlin has a bunch of "budget friendly" and "cheap" vegan grocery haul videos. You may find some good shopping tips on there. :)
Same here!
This all looks fantastic but that rosemary cream move in the risotto was BRILLIANT!

that risotto looks absolutely divine, but all three recipes look amazing!
Portabella mushrooms are THE BEST. I can't wait to make this! I am going to tag you once I do!

First time watching your video. Excellent descriptions, especially with risotto which can be intimidating. Subscribed!
These are some great ideas! I have been looking for some sauce recipes. Perfect for valentine's soon :)
I don't even know which one I want to cook first most...they all look so good!! Great V-day meal ideas =)

Yum!!! You are amazing and delightful! Are you planning on another cookbook with all these new delicious recipes?
I made the mushroom steaks and really enjoyed them. I need to try making the risotto next.

All three of these recipes look amazing and I plan to try when I have a special guest!
They look so so appetizing! Thank you for sharing ☺️
Carnaroli or vialone rice will also also work for the risotto! :)
potatoes and portbello mushrooms looked yummy. Loved this video
I love your recipes Caitlin. These are all great and I will be trying them but that mushroom risotto - divine! 🤎🙌🏼🤎
I know this isn't the topic of this video, but I was wondering if you could try and make a vegan frosting recipe. I have one that I like and is good to eat, but it hardens after awhile, and it separates from the cake.
Any chance your coming out with another cookbook? I am a paper receipt person and love my cook books that I can touch.
I'm not vegan but these look super good.
Yummy! Portobello mushrooms.. love all these recipes!
Makes me wanna cook !
Love all your videos.. very creative and yummy recipes. Going to try all of them. Can you please share a link for the mortar and pestle you used in this video.
These are amazing! I have some mushrooms I need to use, risotto sounds perfect! 🥰👍💖
i have made these potatoes twice now and they are so delicious
Can you make another "date" video? But using dates as the base for the recipe... I love dates :)
I wouldn't say portobellos are a great source of protein (each has only around 1.77g of protein), but certainly delicious!
Thank you, I hate it when people say that about mushrooms, like they're very yummy and healthy but not an ideal source of protein
Maybe I misspoke - I was trying to say if you want more protein you can serve them with crispy tofu, etc. but for one night it’s ok to eat a mushroom as a main :)
@@CaitlinShoemaker I totally went back and rewatched it - you actually did not say that! My bad ♥️

Can’t wait to try the risotto! It looks soo delicious 🤤🤤🥰
I want to make them all! They all look amazing!!!😍
The tofu piccata looks delicious! I haven't had piccata in so long. I've wanted to make risotto for ages and finally found Arborio rice so this is perfect timing :D

Wait… mother-in -law? I’ve been watching for so long, how did I miss that you got married to Dylan.?
Congratulations!
haha. I noticed that too. But she also always refers to Dylan as her partner. I refer to my partner's mom as my mother-in-law even though we are not "technically" married.
Mother-in-law? Didn’t know you guys got married!
It’s easier to say mother in law over future mother in law 🤣 but we are getting married this year!
Everyone, repeat after me: FOOD. DOES. NOT. SLAP. MUSIC SLAPS. THATS IT. Point Blank Period. I’ll tell E-40 you’re sorry in advance.
I don’t like it when my food slaps me back…
