Probably the man, with the greatest Charisma, that ever lived, Elvis had it, but dare i say, Errol Flynn, was the King, i have also never seen any other human being, that aged so quickly as he did, at 50 years of age, when he died, probably about 5 years, at 45, before he died, he was totally aged, and beat, apparently from alcohol, and drugs, but i am honored to say, i have walked on the same ground as this man, which was Shore Grammar School , at North Sydney, that he was a student, in 1925 - 26 where he was expelled, for having an affair, with the Laundry Maid. What A Legend.

Hi Thanks for your reply, but Gable had Jumbo Ears, i didn't detect any charisma in his personality, but i respect your thoughts. Thank-You

We are springing to the call from the East and from the west,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom
And we’ll hurl the rebel crew from the land we love the best,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom

Good song for the proud Northern fighters and brothers and sisters. Good performance in the movie. And out in the West, pioneers and cowboys were veterans of the Civil War.

@@BmorePatriot The Confederates were actually aristocrats and the northern officials were afraid of them because the elite of the US army of the time was in the South, Robert E. Lee was the greatest general at the time. They were all the West Point elite of the US army. You don't even need to read a book, even in the movies they portray it correctly, for instance in Gettysburg (1993) and Gods and Generals (2003). That's the real history, sorry if I hurt you.

He had a huge sense of entitlement here. He had no right to feel he could tell Miriam Hopkins' character what to do with her life. She was a single lady leading an independent life.

I'm reminded of Wilfrid Owen's bitter poem about prancing harlots in music halls and the bloody reality of war. Bloody good song for a bloody good cause, but best sung by the lads who actually fought for it.
