Wonderful video. I am new to colouring and only use pencils but will definitely be getting some watercolour paints and having a go. The book is beautiful and available from Amazon de.

Decided to order this book after watching you do this demonstration, Iv been wanting to use my watercolour paints my daughter gave me for ages and I think this is just the book. You seemed so relaxed doing this picture Lucy it’s lovely not seeing you worry and just going for it and seeing this lovely end result .

Dear Lucy, I have really enjoyed this book flip through and paint with pencil demonstration. The book is beautiful, and I am so thrilled to see one that actually has some tooth to the paper. It seems as though all the new books, and many of our old favorites, are coming out now with super smooth paper, and I don't understand why. I have to use budget pencils, and most of them do not show their full vibrancy with no tooth to pull the color off the pencil. Layering can be a nightmare, after only 1 or 2 layers, with either the next one lifting up the one that came before it, or shoving it aside into a thick blob. I don't know anything about watercolor painting, but your demo made me feel as though I might be able to try it. As always, I enjoyed your conversation and was very happy to see you having fun! Thank you so much!

Lucy! I thoroughly enjoyed this video! I’ve seen you use watercolor pencils but I’ve never seen you use watercolor paints. What fun! Your page turned out beautifully and it was so good to watch you having such fun! I’ve got the book. I’ve even got the same watercolors. But. First I have to finish my Pancake Breakfast in Romantic Country. Second I cannot wait to color the next page you just posted. I LOVE that page! And then I am going to color that little mouse in Leila Duly’s new book. YOU are keeping me soooo busy (and I’m loving it)! It was fascinating watching you blend your colors and the added pencil work really did help bring the page to life. Thank you so much for all you do! ❤️🤗

The plant you couldn’t remember is “Honesty” (Latin name Lunaria annua) also Silver Dollar or Money Plant. I gifted my Prismas, so, would any colouring pencil work over the watercolour paint, or would I just experiment with what I have?

Lucy, try ironing your pages before you use pencils. TEST FIRST! Iron apx wool setting, 2 or 3 layers of paper over and under your coloured page. Short bursts of ironing, let it cool. Keep iron moving to avoid scorching. TEST FIRST on another page to get the hang of it. Good luck.
