Lucy, you made the comment that if there were any water colorists/painters that you hoped it wasn't cringe...I am a watercolor painter & I while heartedly believe in 3 things. Creativity is contagious. If it makes you happy then it's most definitely worth it...any form of happiness is food for the soul. Finally, we are our own worst critics so advice is always welcome. I think it looks wonderful & you have a good eye for color, shading, depth, & highlights. Be easy on urself😊 you're doing fantbulous with watercolor! Hi Lucy I’ve been a follower for a while now but I’m sorry that I’ve not put a comment on your channel but my anxiety is so bad that it has stopped me but listening to you you have gave me the confidence to do this I am a patron and a member of your channel so I’ve really enjoyed watching your water colour turned out stunning 😊
Hi Lucy! She looks fabulous!! You are so talented Lucy! And yes i stayed to the end! I am not buying more stuff than i have now 😊, but i like to try out my Albrecht Dürer water colour pencils with a waterbrush. I only use them dry. I bought the woodland watercolour book for that… i hope it works for me….
I’m a die hard Lucy follower and of course watched right to the end , how could we not ! Just beautiful colors and so glad you enjoyed yourself love it ! 🥰
Lucy - My goodness! THe only thing more gorgeous than the presentation box was your finished piece! It turned out beautifully! I know absolutely nothing about using watercolors but you have inspired to perhaps give it a try. Thank you so much for all you do - it means the world. ❤
Wow, wow, wow Lucy! That turned out absolutely gorgeous. I found it fascinating. I was holding my breath at some points "will lucy find a way to even out the blotchiness on the right cheek" (which i couldn't see on the screen) - yes of course she did; "will lucy faff too much and over do things" - absolutely not. You're a natural at watercolouring. I watched to the end. You don't need to talk all the time. It is very relaxing at the quiet bits. I'd love to see more of the watercolouring, very inspiring. Have a very happy birthday. ❤❤. ps love the birdsong i can hear from outside your window, i think i heard wood pigeon, cuckoo and lovely songbirds, gorgeous 🐦🕊🐦⬛
Thank you so much Joanne its become another passion and I am soaking up all the talent on RUclips to learn as much as I can. We have a wood at the bottom of the garden with lots of wildlife. When there are no lawnmowers or power tools its bliss. You are right you heard all those birds xxx
I'm here too..finding it so calming and fun. I love watercolour, even watching it apparently lol . Very pretty ....she's a cutie 💓 can't wait for Friday 🍾🎂😊
I always watch untill the end of your video. Then at some point I always go back in and rewatch your videos at later dates. Also, just like I know others do, I turn on your video and let them run in the background because you are such lovely company!
Must be a die hard Lucy fan! Watched the whole video and the picture came out so great!!! Watercolor is so much fun and encourages you be a little more “free.” The skin ended up just fine with the pink and the freckles to match the flowers!!! Use the same color theory you teach us with pencils (you were taking about it colouring the mermaid). A tiny touch of green with the pink and a blip of yellow would give you the peachy tone 😊 ❤❤❤ looking forward to the bday video!
Hi lucy im just starting out woth my watercolour journey too. I have found some great youtubers i follow who have been a god send. I find it such a tricky medium to work with. You seem to have picked it up quite naturally though, lovely painting.
Lucy! I thoroughly enjoyed watching you do watercolor! You are a natural my dear! Loved that you put green in with the pink in the Lilies and loved that you gave her freckles. I’m so happy these art supply companies are recognizing you and gifting you these amazing products. I’m really anxious to see which open stock available budget pencils you’re talking about. When I see, that you have posted a Video, I stop what I am watching and Watch You! I have enjoyed seeing You relax and just go for it, I really Admire You, I know it isn't easy! 💜💜🤗
Hi Lucy, I’m really liking your technique with watercolours and finding it very relaxing to watch. I haven’t finished watching yet but I had an overwhelming desire to press the BUY button!! They are a lovely selection of colours, more subtle than many sets I’ve looked at and good value for money. Very glad Paul Rubén’s decided to send them to you - love to see new products and your reviews are so good. I have the book but have never coloured in it so I think it will get some use now. I actually may have all of them if I wade through a creaking bookcase that needs sorting out! The one thing I don’t like about them is that some of the pictures have little black bugs and spiders on them and I messed up trying to obliterate them. Now I know about acrylic pens it should be much easier. Going back to watercolour, purists won’t use white because it takes away the transparency so prized in watercolour and makes it more chalky like gouache. I think white lends another facet to the medium as transparency is not everything. I think, like you, I tend to do what works for me and the effect I want and leave it to the experts to do their thing! One thing about mixing colours, it is best to add a little of the darkest colour to the lighter one otherwise you can use a lot of paint because the mix is too dark and you have to add more lighter colour to get what you want. The Rubén’s being so pigmented I imagine wouldn’t need much of a darker colour to be enough.
Always watch all of you (sometimes not all in one go as I watch you when I’m in bed 😀) so pleased that you have been gifted these lovely paints, your joy is heartwarming and your picture turned out beautiful❤
