Every Mario Kart game is peak for someone. I truly think PEAK Mario Kart is tough to execute and only hope the next Mario Kart mainline game is whole tier above peak.
Although I loved MKDS as a kid, I think it's A tier for me and not S tier since the Retro track selection ranged from mid to bad, and snaking with Dry Bones on Dry Bomber kinda trivialized the game. ALSO something very very important to note was that only certain tracks were playable online and a ton of people forget this about MKDS (tracks with lots of moving parts/hazards like Bowser's Castle, Airship Fortress, and Waluigi Pinball weren't online). Otherwise this tier list is very solid! 🧡 My top 3 is MK8D, Wii, & MK7.
This could just be my nostalgia talking but another pro I’d give Double Dash is that it has this unique vibe compared to a lot of the other Mario Karts, The ost has a lot of whistling in it and almost every object in a stage has little eyes which may not sound like a lot if you never grew up with it but it is enough to give it it’s own identity imo
Only disagree on mk64. It created the blue shell and ghost, banana peel were so much better than triple banana. Also you get Hurt impacting other players depending on speed and their weight.
I feel like Mario Kart 8 U was a bit too high considering how poorly it's aged since. No ultra miniturbo, single items only, HALF the track roster we have today, awful battle mode, and it lacked the good accessibility it has now. Did it even have a Lan mode like deluxe has? I went back and took a look into this game and it really just kinda sucks to play today. It was barebones especially for an 8th mario kart game. Kind of insane. The WiiU dlc was a bit of a carry but not much for gameplay standards so yea.
MK8D is definitely peak in terms of sheer content and how much replay value it has. Personally it is like 4th best for me just because I don't enjoy the heavily item based gameplay loop it has compared to Wii U MK8. This issue only got worse with the DLC because of how many chokepoints and narrow paths in general the DLC added, which in turn cause bombs and green shells to hit way more often than the OG 48 tracks. Double items was mistake. Front running and comebacks were already balanced MK8 with the meta being top speed due to fire hopping, if an item hit you, you weren't out of it and if you were in first with no horn, it was much harder to fish for it if a blue shell was coming. Basically winning races was based more on driving and less on items, between knowing your lines and fire hopping optimally to get the max length from it, and not havingto deal with an endless cycle of bills and stars on lap 3. Items are the core of all Mario Kart games, but MK8D went way overboard with them, so for me personally, it's not up there with MKDS, MKWii, and Wii U Mario Kart 8. I would put it in A tier with Double Dash. Also I hard agree with your take on Mario Kart 64, going back and playing that was eye opening.
5:05 Bro! I’m 23 (about to be 24 in November) and it was my first Mario Kart (though, Double Dash is my all time favorite). Dang. I’d at least give it High C to Low B.
Im 27 as i comment this but i love N64 with the tracks and music But i feel SNES and the remake shouldn't be higher than N64 but the rest of your list i agree but top Mario kart for me will and always will be Double dash loved it so much

Valid take tbh

It's definitely a good game
Nintendo really gave us peak three times
I'm hoping the next one is insanely good, a tier above the rest would be crazy
Happy birthday again btw 🎉
Happy birthday meester 🥳

That's valid, I just didn't like it as much as I remembered

Valid although I still liked it for what it did to keep the Wii U alive until we got peak

Great points, thank you for watching 😃

💀💀💀 I understand but Double Dash is pretty fun. Mario Kart 64 is just painful and didn't age well at all.
@@BearUNLV Okay. Fair enough I guess. Glad you enjoyed Double Dash tho!
5:00 well I guess I'm 45 years old then
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
