Just a tip, there is an low beam law 24/7/365 in Sweden, you need to have it lit no matter when you drive. Saab and Volvo started having 20watt lights that is lawful in 1975, those changes to 5watt when low beam is on regular cars, but the tgb does not have those so low beam is it. Also rear position lights are to be on for older cars. EU came with a new law so modern cars does not need rear lights and many swedes feels that law is flawed.
Indeed, a lift for large parts of Europe, a down grade for Sweden with the EU light laws.
Hes in Skåne, noone here gives a shit, neither does the police.
@@admiralfloofz658apparently as just watching your part of the country in the winter sayes it all!
Man, your stamina with all the stuff breaking. Well, I’m impressed that you just didn’t put it on fire it and call it done. 🙌
You passed the besiktning, now the fun part begins. I’m very very impressed with you guys stamina and determination.
It's all about pursuing the long term vision and dreams! It's definitely been more challenging than we expected but we'll get there! Thanks for watching :)
Perseverance, and optimism , Chris kicking Murphy and his law out of the equation. Well done guys.
Thank you so much for watching and encouraging us, it means a lot to read some positive comments!
what a week guys, could see the relief and joy in your faces when you passed the inspection ,woo hoo.onwards and upwards from here on . Hey Ange my guess at the colour ,maybe the same as the mog ???? Chris the inspection guys may be watching you on youtube so they knew you will fix the minor problems . hopefully easy sailing from here onwards
My wife asked what I was smiling about and I just told her that you guys passed the MOT 😂! Great job 💪
I cringed so badly when you were working under the vehicle with only the bottle jack for support, far too many folks get killed doing that!
No appointment deadline is worth your life, please always have a jackstand in place, always!
Good luck with the rest of the build.
Not too sure which clip you are referring to? At 4:48 where Chris is under the truck it wasn't on the bottle jack.
@@TheOutFit It was around 8:40 and he was rushing to make the appointment, not a good combination,
I see a few others also spotted it.
I'm not trying to be negative here, I just hate the thought of Chris needlessly getting injured or killed and leaving you two alone.
Yeah, minimum is to shove the tyre you have just removed underneath the truck so if the truck falls off the bottle jack, it cant fall all the way and squash you
Nice work :) Cool to see it running again. Those inspections can be a bit stressful but generally it is good to have a second pair of eyes checking over the vehicle to make sure it is safe. I have always had very knowledgeable and nice inspectors.
We were pleasantly surprised and appreciated them being helpful and giving advice on roadworthiness as opposed to just try to get us to fail. Thanks for watching :)
You're going to know this truck like the back of your hand, not a bad thing considering what guys do with your vehicles and where you go .
You are 100% right. We'd rather this all happens now, 10 kilometers away from the workshop with a support vehicle than in the middle of nowhere with no reception! Thanks for watching :)
Well done guys. Learn by doing. It’s the best way to reduce anxiety. Knowing that you can fix it - and you can!
Thank you so much for watching and encouraging us, it means a lot to read some positive comments!
Congrats Ang, Chris and Oxley on getting the Volvo past its inspection!!! Look forward to seeing the remainder of the build:)
All the best guys:)
Thank you so much for the encouragement and for following along!
Congratulations Chris, Ange and Oakley, it's a long road but you will get there, thoughts are with you, Ian, Bundaberg North. Qld.
Thank you so much Ian for following along every week and encouraging us, it means a lot to read some positive comments!
Nice to see the TGB in the flat Scanian landscape
We can't wait to take it on a non-inspection drive soon 😄
Weel done guys! Come have a fun break in Stockholm some time soon to enjoy the summer and recharge before continuing this amazing refit. I'll be happy to show you around and speak french as well.
That had everything. My anxiety was peaking with poor Chris trying to get the TGB to inspection in time. This is a turning point, from now on there are only small challenges to deal with!
Well done guys, such tough conditions to live and restore a vehicle in.
Marty from Perth
Thanks Marty for your encouragement all the way from Australia, we're glad you're still following along!
Fair play🤙….that’s a monumental achievement getting that inspection. It came good in the end…..
Really, really happy for you guys, and well done on such a mega job to get her registered - I'm in awe of your skills as an untrained mechanic - amazing. Can't wait for the interior build to start.
Thank you so much Donald for taking the time to comment and subscribing, we really appreciate!
Hey guys, you have got it all wrong, you have done a incredible amount of work to that machine it was so bad and you have replaced or fixed nearly every part. And all that work had to be done before it could ever be used. For someone who isn’t a mechanic and just your wife helping you congratulations for so far. 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Jon 🇦🇺 wa
Awesome news the TGB passed.....finally. Can't wait to see what happens next! You should be proud/stoked for what you have achieved so far.
Congrats on passing the inspection and the visa renewal, well done! Sucks when it breaks down but better now than when you're on the road through Europe and North America, so hopefully these problems are the last problems you have 🙂
Yes we'd rather have those issues now close to the workshop with a support vehicle than in the middle of nowhere with no phone reception! Thanks a lot Alexander for watching and subscribing!
What awesome news - on the registration pass and the visa renewal!!!!!!! Whoop whoop!!! Congrats!
Powerful video! You get good exercise running back and forth around the truck, as well as lying under it and doing mechanic work. In Sweden we always say... third time's a good time! Congratulations on your visa extension for 6 months. Love seeing the whole family in Sweden, especially now that our beautiful country is showing its finest season! Wishing you all the best.
Love from Rolf, a former officer in the Swedish army and well seen these army trucks for 1000's over the years... Hugs! 😃😉😍👍💪
your videos got recomended to me once you guys got to sweden and made your first sweden video. And have been following you guys ever since! love the build and glad to hear that the visa got sorted out!
Cheers from sweden!
That's so cool to hear the algorithm worked for you! Thank you so much for following along and subscribing, legend!!
Congrats guys! All the hard work starting to pay off.
I know its hard to keep these running but man I am really learning a lot from you for my C303! Congrats on passing the inspection! Cheers,
Congratulations on passing the inspection! That is a huge milestone under your belts. You may feel that you are unlucky, but I think that you are being very lucky in that most of the problems are surfacing at this juncture and not when you are overlanding in some remote location. As for the colour, you have already mentioned that you are intending to tone down its military like appearance for security reasons in certain parts of the world, so I am guessing that you are either going to go for a colour that is neither military or militant like. So green, beige and white (Red Cross and UN colours) are probably out. I am guessing that it will be some kind of blue. Red would probably make it look like a fire engine so that is out.
So happy for you all, what a relief. I have enjoyed every part of this build. I was feeling your pain on the first few failed attempts at getting to the test station. What a journey already. I can’t wait for the rest, good work all of you especially Oakley 💪
Thank you so much Craig for the kind words, following along and for subscribing, it means a lot!
Keep it up. Lots of setbacks but you're getting there. Cheers
Omg the stress 😅
You did phenomenally 🎉
Thank you so much for watching and celebrating with us!
Hi Chris & Ange, just finished watching every single video starting with the Bowser build, then the expeditions with Bowser, and now the Volvo build up to this episde. Loving the journey so far and it's great to see Chris working hard and learning as he goes along. He reminds me of my brother, in both his build and how handy he is! And topped off with a Bundaberg ginger beer. Cheers from North QLD, legends!
Amazing! That's a proper binge :)
Cheers from us mate!
What an effort... 💪 looking forward to the comming episodes, keep up the nice work to all three of you
Thank you so much Jesper for taking the time to comment, for following along and for subscribing, it means a lot!
What a struggle and what a way to Finnish! Well done! 🤗
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
Getting closer and closer to finish ✊💯
🇸🇪Bra jobbat 💪🇸🇪
Well done now hopefully things become easier and less stress and hassle. 😎
Good onya Team! Milestone achieved. Next Level up!! That was a stressful mission, hope you are taking time out to unwind and celebrate an accomplishment.
Chris and Ange, although we were just watching this video from afar, the stress both of you were experiencing came across loud and clear.
But as we have come to know, your positive attitude guided you through and you succeeded. Good For You guys👏👏👏.
On a brighter note, little man’s🧍♂️smiles 😇 while playing with the grass on the side of the road made my day. It won’t be long before he starts to speak and that will be another treat to watch and listen to his vocabulary.
By the way Chris, take a couple of hours from working on that monster and repair 🧑🔧 that driver’s side window on the Saab.
All the Best to you until your next posting.
Lou🇺🇸
You did it!!!💪
YES WE DID! Thank you for celebrating with us :)
Grattis! Bra jobbat! 👍
well done guys thats great news on passing the inspection , its also amazing that your visa came through chris. cant wait to see what you do next
Well Done Guys.
Thank you so much for celebrating with us!
Well done you two for passing the test I am so relieved and I have a bad heart so the stress isn’t good for me I should cool down now😂😂🎉regarding your steel flap in front of the radiator I think you will find it’s for stopping the freezing air from causing ice in your radiator. I love the size and shape of your truck and I am a bit jealous I want one but my wife wouldn’t have it. Jon🇦🇺WA
I have to admit that you're super tough! If the Volvo had been mine, I would have taken the gas from the canister and burned it on the side of the road. Good luck!
It's all about pursuing the long term vision and dreams! It's definitely been more challenging than we expected but we'll get there! Thanks for watching :)
@@TheOutFit you're 100% right. It's something for me to learn as well.
I admire and respect your resilience and dedication to move forward with the project without any disappointment 👏🔥👊✊
Thank you so much for watching and encouraging us, it means a lot to read some positive comments!
Glad you got the right kind of guys for the review, you get one who woke up on wrong side of bed your screwed 😂
Great job! Love following this!
Awesome NEWS!! Well done!!
Thank you for celebrating with us!
We need some spear fishing videos again, but you’re working towards it I guess😂
Making progress, well done, your persistence and effort are beginning to paying off, thanks for the intense drama and sharing your happiness!!
Thanks a lot for following along and taking the time to comment Marc!
Congratulations guys, good work with both the tgb and the inspection. Nice to see hard work paying off.
You brought back memories of the stress of roadside repairs on an old VW Kombi in Australia in 1993! Most of the memories are much better, yours will be the same after this tough period! Best wishes from Ireland.
Well done, boom boom boom
Thank you for celebrating with us!
So nice to see you succeed at last, after all the struggling. Nothing can stop you now, I agree on your words.
Thank you so much for following along and subscribing!
WELL DONE Guys!! Excellent news! Let the fun begin!
Thank you for celebrating with us Joseph!
I remember thinking a few episodes ago that those uni joints were going together a bit dry. I know you wiped a bit of grease on the cross shaft, but I think I would have made sure that the cups were packed and all of the rollers were fully covered with grease. And I know you would have pumped grease in after assembly, but just need to be sure there’s no dry spots. Ange looked so stressed on the phone when the window wouldn’t go up. This project will be character building if nothing else. Please take care of yourselves. Cheers
I'm so happy for you, big congratulations to the three of you!
Thank you for following along and celebrating with us!
That inspection at the end. 3rd times the charm.
But nothing like a vicroads inspection in Victoria. There’d be no “this is not right, but we’ll know you’ll fix it.” It would be a case of come back when its done. 😜
Loved the episode, always remember everything that breaks now and get fixed wont (hopefully) break again :D
That's so good to hear, thank you so much for watching, commenting and subscribing!
Great vid guys. . . . Congrats
Thank you so much for following along!
I hope you enjoy your time in Sweden, it's a pleasure to have you here.
Well done guys! Looking forward to what's coming next🙂
Thank you so much for following along Jens!
Love your show guys
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment!
Bravo !
Que d'émotions !
Vous vous souviendrez longtemps de cette étape .
Le plus sympa va pouvoir maintenant commencer ; courage au mécano .
Des vidéos bien agréables à regarder et un choix musical au top ; bravo Ange .
Very inspiring!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us!
Hope to one day have a happy family like yours!
RESPECT!!
Bundaberg moment at 38:50 - been there, seen the factory, love it. Good work !, well earned!
You met the right guy on the besiktning they can be grumpy at times but Congratulations!
My olde Jeep CJ7 used to break down a lot until i got it to the point that all the critical parts are new or rebuilt (engine, axles, clutch, etc) nowadays its very reliable and cold-starts immediately because of fuel injection conversion I did myself. A lot of work but well worth it to me.
Being 18 months into building my Sprinter Campervan here in the middle part of Sweden - i can relate to problems piling up and the struggle to actually getting somewhere with the build.
Awesome work you are doing !
See ya on the roads !
Big Congrats to you three🎉. I’ve been following since the Mog build. You’ve really been able to capture the emotion in this episode. Boy Ange you looked stressed making that call to move the appointment but I have to say that window appeared even more anxious.
I’m loving the longer episodes btw and Oakley “Is-That-A-Camera” steals the scene. Oh and I think you should wait until later in the year before you go for your swim, the water might be getting too warm now.
Congratulations on the pass guys. Love the way you hang in there no matter what the adversity. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much Scott for watching and subscribing!
Well done guys, i had no doubt you would tough it out!
congratulations! looking forward to the new build now.
Thank you so much Colm for watching and subscribing!
You could install a bladder pump for the fuel hose, the type that is used on outboard motors im boats. That way you can always prime and bleed the fuel system if you have to do field repairs.
If you don't want to have the bladder permanently attached to the fuel line, it is a pretty useful accessory, with a meter of hose on each side. You can use it to evacuate your fuel tank or transfer fuel from one veichle to another, for example.
I always keep an extra of those in my boat and it has helped me and others in several situations.
Congratulations!
Thank you for watching and celebrating with us Romas!
Wow, congratulations 🎉. I truly admire your patience and determination 😊 Can't wait for the next episode
Thank you for so much Mattias for following along and subscribing! We appreciate your kind words :)
Congrats 🍾 to u both, well done, onwards and upwards luv watching your Eps
Congratulations! such hard work and you guys made it pay off! Well done!
Thank you so much Johannes for watching and subscribing!
Congrats! Weel done!
Congrats on passing the inspection 👍
Sucks about the breakdowns and the stress involved, I genuinely felt Ange's anxiety after the second failure.
The upside is the more this happens now the less it should happen when you're on the road and if it does, then you're better equipped to handle it. 🤞
Well done!
Congratulations 👍 one issue down many more ahead !!!
Yoohoo I’m so excited!! 🎉🎉 They say Third is a charm, many obstacles along the way, but like Ange say’s “Nothing can stop you now” Time To relax 🙌💛💛💛
Congrats to all of you. Have fun with the Volvo
Thank you so much Oren for watching and subscribing!
LOTS OF KIWI LUCK TO YOUR MISSION....!!!!
Congratulations legends...
Thank you so much for celebrating with us!
It's great to see you smiling through frustration and adversity, whilst being able to film it!
Yes, you will definitely get there.
Cheers
Ian
It's never easy to film the hard times but we want to be transparent and share the good and the bad. Thank you so much for following along every week Ian!
My father made a crossbow as a kid in the 50s using a leaf spring from a Beetle bus. Made arrows by putting spoons on the railways and le the train flatten them and then sharpen them. Was shooting rats down at the scrap yard with it. Kids back then worked differently :P
well done finding a leaf spring on a Vw bus. He has added some texture to that story for sure;-) Great story tho.
Well done, nothing test your resolve than an old motor vehicle!
Hey guys that was so intense
So glad that everything worked out in the end and it passed
Congrats, well deserved!
Thank you for celebrating with us and subscribing!
Chris, when taking off phillips head screws, use some valve grinding compound on your phillips head bit.
Having worked for myself doing transport having inspections done on vehicles is always stressful … great news on the pass
So happy for u guys great news ..... U will need a holiday after this .... Grey good colour for truck I think ...
yeah!!! congratulations!!!👊✊😘
Thank you for watching and celebrating with us!
Such a massive amount of work and effort.
Thank you so much for the extra support and for following along 🙏
Well done guys 👍🏻 I felt with you each time you broke down 🙈😂
Well done.
Congratulations! Good work.
Thank you so much Gustav for watching and subscribing!
Well-done you three bravo , 38:02
Congrats on passing your inspection!
Thank you for watching and celebrating with us Jason!
