Been having terrible and inconsistent bench sessions for weeks until I watched this. Thank you, I'm no longer failing on technique and can use my strength. You took every problem most of us have with the unrack into account. You're a master at what you do.

At first I was put off by the talking head style of your videos. Once I got past my own bias, I discovered that your content is extremely detailed and full of information that will help me improve. Thank you for taking the time to create these and provide them for free.

@@BrazosValleyStrength I suppose it’s because I’m used to more change of perspective. I felt myself thinking “I wish I could visualize what he’s saying a bit better.” Don’t get me wrong, I admit it was me being mentally lazy. I have 5 points from this video alone that I’m taking with me to my next bench session. This is really detailed, excellent content.

Been watching a lot of your bench press videos recently, and I'm absolutely loving them. I'm already doing a lot of the things you're explaining in your videos, simply from just experimenting myself over time, but have still learned a bit and it's lovely getting a deeper understanding of why the things work like they do. You're probably the person I've encountered with the best bench press videos on the internet, great job dude

Fully agree with this message, and since figuring this out 8 months ago, my bench shot up with 40kg over the period along with the wrist back change while pressing. The thing that is taking the longest to get consistent is keeping the legs engaged, maybe the hips in the air will help. will give it a shot.

Can you make a video about proper bracing on the bench?
i passed out while doing a pr (still got the pr in the same session) it was very confusing and scary , don't know where i went wrong maybe too much abdominal pressure??

You can mark the floor to help you place the bench in the correct location every time. Rogue sells a “bench prop” for its racks that allows repeatability in your bench placement as well.

Anxiously awaiting the video where you demonstrate a press while not actively retracting scap. Has yet to be done on RUclips outside of stick figures and theory.

@@BrazosValleyStrength Don't know the purpose of your sarcasm. This video is about the unrack, not pressing. My comment was expressing that I was looking forward to a future bench video with a demonstration of the press that incorporates an appreciation and attention to scapular-humoral rhythm.

@@BrazosValleyStrength I got you. I'm sure you get lots of trolls and bro science comments here.
I first saw the lift off using a straightened then broken back wrist from Daiki Kodama. Could you analyze how he benches? He has a peculiar comp style, almost like a double pause. It seems to stem from scap control movement broken down into phases, but also bends his elbows.

  • @fVNzO

Your entire presenting style in these videos just doesn't work for me. It's hard for me to describe what you're doing. You're so overly both confident and extremely apologetic at the same time. It's this very unusual way of communicating with other people that is very, very emotional. It seems very fake in nature, staged almost. I think it's probably an american thing i don't see it very often. The deep breaths, attenuating every other word almost, trying to force the other party to almost laugh and cry while you're speaking. It's such a uniquely, off-putting way to address yourself in front of a camera. I really don't like it. But you probably can't see it/now that it's happening. This video is an extremely interesting example of this phenomenon nonetheless. So it does serve at least as a case study.
