It's really not that bad if you like arcade racing and games with an actual story instead of "hey here is a car go race". It's million times better than the previous NFS titles. I personally love it based on the 6 hours I've played it, and you have to admit, the cars sound hella good
Though I do wish it had a bit more realistic handling instead of the brake to drift mechanic

I fucking hate when people get triggered seeing payback handling style. Uhh.. its too arcady... uhhh graphics make me throw up like wtf man. Its an ARCADE game lol what do you expect and stop bitching about the story and the customisation being cringy. This game is fun as hell to play it's not meant to be a simulator, just get over it

Still skeptical of payback after nfs 2015 hyped up a lot and they basically hadn’t really finished the game game yet and some of the worst handling in a game I hope payback is better
Mohammad Khawaher ah yup in race cars and thats great! Though I actually don't mind it too much there. It's more about the drift class where I think the easy drifting makes it a little boring. But again, it is not a deal breaker for me since this time the handling physics are solid and not unpredictable like in 2015
HC DaVe in fact, this was the first time I pre-ordered a game and I don't regret a bit. Ghost games is a studio that really does listen to the players and everything they have done for PayBack are big improvements on the areas that players complained about in 2015. It's a solid game with the old school Need for Speed feel.
After playing Horizon 3, I don't think I can go to back to typically over assisted arcade games like NFS. Forza is just superb, it's really in a class if it's own.

They just different games. I love playing FH3 without assists, only the unbelievable bad FFB lowers my happiness, but it's challenging. NFS is just a "come home from work, shut down your brain and just race that VW Käfer with ultra Widebody Kit". Both is fun for me

It's nothing like forza, The Crew 2 is a rich nob simulator like Test Drive Unlimited 2 u have bikes, cars, boats and planes.

I understand the comparison between Payback and FH3, but why GT Sport? Why isn't GT Sport being compared to FM7?

After playing the 10 hour trial of payback it seems to be a big step forward but there's still a lot of room for improvement.
1. Why do the cars feel so heavy and slow? Ill be doing 120 but feels like I'm doing 80.
2. Break to drift needs to die already, it was only brought in because criterion was rushed to shit on Most Wanted. Its a lazy mechanic that's overpowered. Ghost isn't being rushed to make games so surely they can change the handling system in the next installment.
3. Textures take awhile to load in at times (which I think can be fixed but not too sure)
4. There's a loot system in this game which I expected but it actually works pretty good so I'm okay with it.
This games beauty really pops out at the night cycle; especially out in the wilderness areas where you're cruising and you see shooting stars and stuff fly across the sky. It really is eye candy. Also there's more variety in cars... Hell there's more cars in general. This is Ghosts 2nd NFS game and they've really listened to what the people had to say. This is a case of trial and error; they will take the bad from this game and improve it while taking the good from the game and using it in the next installment. It won't be too much longer before we get the NFS game that pretty much everyone loves like the underground series, Most Wanted '05, Carbon, etc. Just give ghost a little time
Spidey Stretch ammm im pretty sure they fixed the hole break to drift thing bro you can just turn it off or make a grip build car easy also the hole texture problem i can understand since this game is running on loads of things especially this gaint map the biggest map in nfs history also i mean dont cars feel heavy in real life actually i remember seeing alot of hate on ghost becuase there last game cars felt like paper and people wanted heavier cars and alot of people actually were happy tyat the cars had weight more realistic also you can be doing a 100 but it looks like 80 doesnt really get to the point my dad drives at those speeds looks pretty much the same to be honest and trust me the more you upgrade youre car the faster it is the more youll see how it actually looks like i mean to be honest in what world does 100mph look like yourr in a ricket ship flying by im pretty sure this is how real life would look like i mean ive expirienced it multiple times
Kevin Fortin yeah I understand the texture thing but with the break to drift ordeal; I just want to see a new and fresh handling system. The break to drift style being in every new NFS game gets stale after awhile

You've clearly never driven a rally car at high speeds on dirt then, there is literally no traction whatsoever

I know it is hard to believe but rallying has never been a strong point in past GT games it is just there for the fun.
The force feedback is weak and cars handle in a unrealistic manner like they are driving on ice.
The tires do not bite on the dirt and there is no sense of grip whatsoever. Even when braking it feels like you are on ice.
Dirt 4 (while this time overall being way too grippy) has a much better translation of dirt racing than Gran Turismo Sport.

It is kinda embarrasing that Forza Horizon 3 seems to give a much better sense of dirt racing than GT Sport (given it is focused on car simulation) while FH3 being arcade with sim attributes.
Sounds are ok on each one of them ( the vaccuum cleaner joke is dead so please stop trying ) but FH3 gives a much better tone and exhaust than GT Sport.
NFS is just a stock subaru sound (not even the same year/model) which is also good.
Graphics and scenery goes to FH3, GT Sport (while this comparison being very bland with the sunny TOD setting) and NFS (idk it just does not look that great).
Perhaps you could have chosen a sunset TOD for GT Sport to change the bland sunny scenery.

The trick is to avoid making sharp turns during high speeds. Move the stick on the controller slightly. When going through a sharp curve, slow down and then move the stick more.
Gran turismo literally sounds like a vacuum

Forza makes unrealistic sounds- they are ment to be best no the most real, gt is real

in gts is the closest to reality sound in racing, if for you this vacuum cleaner is just pulling shit out of your ears

The thing I see about the GT Sport subie is that I believe, after watching rally videos with imprezas, that the sound it makes comes from it being most likely heavily modified compared to a somewhat stock one. Same with the FH3 one
Jason The Wolf Forza Horizon 3 seems to have gotten the exhaust sound a bit better though. IMO
All it is, is headers. Unequal length headers are put on STI's from the factory, causing the "Subie rumble". The versions of STI used in FH3 and GTS in this video are Subaru built rally cars which are refitted with equal length headers because they have better air flow.

I'm excited for nfs payback, forza 7 is boring and horizon 3 i've played too much haha, customization is dope and I saw in Blackpantha his video that you can turn off the stupid 'brake to drift' mechanic in nfs payback so that's a plus. 1 more week :) can't wait

In my personal opinion I think the subie on Gran Turismo sounds better than both of the other too it just has a real gritty sound and a nasty turbo blow off

Hey Joe, in FH3 you did the worlds hardest challenge, I have an idea of something you could do in FM7. You could do a world record using a sleeper car or a stock hypercar / supercar or a stock race car. I think it would be awesome and maybe make 1 video and see what people think of it. Although it would be hard to make I think it would make for some great videos.

The physic is not really good in NfS Payback but this game looks very good. GT Sport sounds better but it looks bad and it looks like the car is drifting on the snow. On FH3, physic is better managed and there are beautiful landscapes and cars so I prefer this game. 😁
Payback is more of an arcade racer than a sim game. The physics are not necessarily the most realistic but they are still really smooth and fun.
Flygoniaks lol talks about how nfs doesnt have realistic physics yea thats true but its not as bad as how forza has youre dirt racing car going 200mph no problem while in nfs it actually realisticly slows down

ApexMKII_GD To be honest, Dirt 4 can't compete at all in the graphics department. I think it looks pretty crap. The sounds are pretty freaking awesome, but I'm not sure how the physics hold up. It's not like most of us are just able to throw around an off-road monster at any time of the day.
