    Great tutorial, until you have to present something as complex as this yourself, you don’t really appreciate how much effort went into this tutorial. Fantastic, methodical, logical explanation. Well presented and easy to understand. This is my go to video..... the app itself has loads of features, but loving the app so much. Can’t wait until travel in not restricted anymore. Bravo! Bravo! I stand and applaud!! Yes please make more video's like this! I have been using this app for a year and this will help me explain to others how it is used. Need to mention the Iphone and Ipad focal mm is 35mm is what you are viewing in Night AR mode so using a 14mm lens on a full frame you will get more in the frame. I now understand how to setup for those great panoramic shots in February and March with the MW arch low on the horizon. The Ipad app is way better to see everything (power last longer also), tap the moon and sun and get the moon and MW and watch as the moon sets in the west while the MW rises in the SE for that moon lit foreground with the MW in the sky also. Also this app has all the photo tools you will ever need in the field.
    Cheers also,
    Ed

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  8 лет назад

      +Echo Auxgen Hi Ed!! Yes, you're right. The Night AR uses the iPhone camera, so it's like using a 35mm. So, if you use a wider focal length, more Milky Way arch will fit in your frame :)

    One of my biggest dreams in photography is to find and shoot Milky Way) After this great tutorial I got the app and now in the planning) Hope to get it still in July.Unf.Moscow has lots of light pollutions and probably I need to be 150km away... I've heard something about exposure to the right technology in LR to get a shot in place with big pollution...

      Hi Dmitri! For the latitude of Moscow you'll have to wait until September to be able to capture the Milky Way. During summer you always have too much residual light from the light that dims the Milky Way. Too many hours of light hehe. This article will help you to capture the Milky Way: www.photopills.com/articles/how-shoot-truly-contagious-milky-way-pictures
      And this one will give you some tips to shoot it in light-polluted skies: www.justinngphoto.com/2014/05/16/how-i-photograph-the-milky-way-from-light-polluted-skies-of-singapore/

    I sincerely apologize. I’ve since dived-in and found the app to be extremely useful, even inspirational. My initial difficulty with it stemmed from exactly what you had warned about: trying to do too much, too fast. Once you break it down into a series of discreet steps and actions it becomes much clearer how to achieve the results you’re looking for. I still have much to learn, but now consider it an incredible bargain and have enthusiastically recommended it to fellow shooters. Hope that makes up for my earlier intemperate comments. 😊

    I got this app 2 years ago because I wanted to shoot the Milky Way and I discovered the most powerful app for photographers!! I has soooo many things in there that I don't know if I'll able to experiment with all of them. But that's good new right?!!! Also, the tutorials are very very helpful and they have the correct pace and they go step-by-step.
    All in all I recommend this app to all the photographers as it is a great tool!!
    And my question to the Photo Pills team: Do you have any astronomers in your team? haha

    Amazing app... Best way to know what my iPhone is capable of while map size on 5/SE screen is a bit small. Not easy to use at first but i have been watching your tutorials and now it is pretty easy. Still need to find out the use of the hidden buttons (first one is GPS ok but others ??). Was focused on Sun and Moon pictures but after watching this video i will study possible Milky Way ones... Congrats to the team !

      Just found the guide after my comment sorry ! Was delighted when i first press the 'Expand Map' pin button :-) while the "Block map buttons" is no longer there... **Request**: please add one button to enable/disable the Obstacles’ pin - faster than sliding on the top.

      Yes, we'll add this button on the button's bar, it will be faster than sliding on the top for sure :)

    Hey, first off - the work that must have gone into this app is amazing! When you are doing the AR view, does it use your GPS position, or the shooting pin position for the calculations?

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  2 года назад

      In the Planner, it's the Red Pin Position. In the Sun, Moon and Night AR pills, it's your gps position.
