this is honestly one of those playlists that i just really wanted to make for myself 😂 it's been on my mind for forever, and this week i finally got around to finishing it! honestly old chinese music is my favorite, it just hits different. and note, all the songs i used in this video are covers because of audio quality reasons.
the story of this playlist follows a heartbroken woman whose lover has just been murdered. but plot twist! by the 7th song, it's revealed that _she's_ the one who murdered her lover. as it turns out, the murder was part of her grand plan all along. and with just a bit of theatrics, she managed to convince everyone of her innocence. as the playlist concludes, she moves on to find her next victim-- it's nighttime in shanghai, after all...
... or some sort of story like that hahaha

Well now I want a Chinese detective show set in the 1900s...
not exactly a detective show, but its about spies, politics, and war during this era: i highly recommend 伪装者 (the disguiser). i was honestly thinking about it a lot when making this playlist haha
My Roommate Is a Detective is pretty good but it's set in 1920's Shanghai and is a lighthearted comedy
