    Hoocho, you helped my 16 year old son so much with his high school project! It's a hydroponic system with four different light conditions - red and blue, different intensities and schedules - we soldered custom led lights together! And we have four Wyze cams set up to monitor differences in buttercrunch lettuce growth! Wouldn't have been able to do half of it without you!

    I don’t get why this channel doesn’t have a few million followers, mate. I grow seasonal onions, capsicums, tomatoes, I have some grapevines, citrus fruits, a couple of quinces, but when I started following this channel I already have an idea to make a greenie house for starters, about 30 square metres, 'cause I never managed to grow lettuce without some pests eating it. I plan to make a system with plastic tubes on a rain gutter system, I’m keen to see how I’ll go, seeds are already sprouting 🙂

    Absolutely love your work, you're the reason I've gotten into hobby hydro! I wish i had held out a few months to buy the hobby quantities from you, after shelling out hundreds of dollars for - lets be honest - more nutrients than I'll ever use. Additionally I have just realized that I've probably stuffed up my powders by not keeping them sealed, with Melbourne's weather lately I hope they haven't absorbed too much moisture and ruined them.

    Great video as always thanks for what you do! I had a question for you though. Obviously one of the big advantages to growing hydroponically indoors is that you have the ability to recirculate/capture evaporated water meaning less water use. I imagine that hydroponics outdoors is also very water efficient because there is less space for the water to escape, but have you maybe done any experiments or know of any research that has an actual percentage/value of how much more water efficient it is to grow hydroponically outdoors versus traditional?

  • @Outback-living
    @Outback-living Год назад

    K this is what I would do grab some ant sand from bunnings or baby powder and pepper and sprinkle on floor of green house and since you have plenty of space plant some marigolds in each end and middle they are great for aphids I have them in my out door hydroponics for my strawberries, raspberries and blueberries there ph is not fussy they are really really hardy not frost resistant tho but will come up next spring on there own😊. Also cheers for helping me ALL the time.

    Consider Diatomaceous Earth, which is an incredible pesticide. Don't use the pool type that's heat treated; the pool type is hazardous to breathe (the untreated is not). DE is indiscriminate, so be very careful around pollinators. It's only downside is susceptibility to water. It only works when it remains dry. But it works wonderfully.

    Hoocho I love hydroponics the only thing that bothers me is the nutrient solution, I believe, can not produce the same variety of nutrients organic soil can. Have you ever done any research on that? So I was thinking, I make my own compost and worm castings what if I make a tea and in a fine mister spray the plants in the morning. What do you think this would do to the plants overall nutrient uptake?

    I didn't know that ants bring in the aphids. Do the aphids ride on the ants like we ride on horses??? What a hoot! ?You must have lots of ants, and therefore massive amounts of aphids. What do you use to get rid of them? Perhaps do a video about pest control in your garden, sometime. Also, you said that you have massive amounts of produce that you don't eat. Have you tried to contact a local food bank or farm co-op to get rid of it? Perhaps they will take it away for you?

    love what you do and all (you know that) but i think you should take a year sidequest and come to america. NOT FECKIN CALIFORNIA!! i think you need to see how things work on michigan, new jersey, vermont.. anyplace that ACTUALLY has 4 seasons. i understand you live where you do because thats where you choose to live, cool.. but most of what you do isnt useful to anyone who deals with freezing temps. like you can do nft year round, its a sound investment to set it up for you. people in maine could probably only make use of it like 7 months out of the year though. this is NOT an attack or saying you are doing everything on easy mode because of your location, but i would like to see how you could ply your trade in other climates. i know you as an innovator, a thinker, and a tinker from watching for years, im curious what improvements you could bring to another climate. thats all. theres plenty of channels of people who grow on youtube (not so many doing hydro), im sure lots of them would love to collaborate with a legend such as yourself.
