Best video ever. Plz make more videoz. Even if itz not every week or so try to make quality videoz such as this one. Very well done. Even simple game first impressionz/reviews. Keep it up man.
Great Video. Just purchased a razer panthera and I look forward to modding it in the near future. This video has given me an idea of how to mod a stick. Thanks for the help!
don't know if anyone told you yet but for future reference mad catz use used with the TE2 onward these quick disconnects that have a tab you have to push in before pulling otherwise you damage the quick disconnect or in your case the sanwa microswitch. I learned that the hard way with a quick disconnect that I had to clamp down to get it to stay.
waiting for my mod kit for my tes+ in 2024 this is the best customize arcade stick bless to have one for 10 years didnt no it was a banger of custom pixels
Everyone outside Japan immediately installs the octagon gate before finding out the genious of the square gate. Most wouldnt use the octo gate. The way it's meant to be used is to learn the positions of the up,down, left, right microswitches by muscle memory and using the walls of up,down, left, right it is easy to do circular moves. It is actually faster to use the square because on the octacon all the directions are as fas as the 4 corners of the square. The switches activate before hitting any restrictor and the octo is not the best way to use them.
I rarely hit the restrictor gate unless I'm playing a charge character. I think it's crazy that Korean players like Infiltration use Korean sticks that don't even have gates, while the rest of the world relies on them for execution.
Just use whatever feels best, the rest is all bullshit who cares. Don't end up liking it? Take the 5 entire minutes it requires to swap it back to the other and move on from your momentous investment of $7....
Korean sticks have a gate it's that little black part that sticks out on traditional Korean sticks. it's essentially a circle gate with a silicon rubber restrictor pad in the stick instead of a spring.
You know what the funniest thing about all this is? Fight Sticks are just used to satisfy our nostalgia from going to the arcade....Any fight stick user can do just as good and even better using an Xbox One Controller.... I fall victim to them too, but more for the modding and collecting.... Super Sad Mad Catz is dead, their sticks were always the best for the price...
The TLDR on that is that we use Audacity and Levelator along with Skype to coordinate and record the audio, and now (recent switch for Marty) we all use Blue Yeti mics.
Great video, the button issue has me terrified because with my luck it would happen to me. But, I'm pretty certain I'm going to give it a shot anyways. Possibly buying extra wiring in case it happens with me as well.
Aww man, you couldn’t have done that to a nicer stick! :( I love that skull design. So awesome and it would have fit my original TE stick if you would have sent me it instead of throwing it away! :(
For an Xbox/PlayStation/PC themed arcade stick: a Korean lever with a black bat-top, a light blue sanwa button with a green ring for the X/A button, a red sanwa button with a red ring for the circle/B button, a pink sanwa button with a dark blue ring for the square/X button, a green sanwa button with a yellow-orange ring for the triangle/Y button and five black sanwa buttons with black rings for the L1/LB, L2/LT, R1/RB, R2/RT and start buttons.
are you in the Dakota's area? the way you said "about" really sticks out by the way if you want to remove the connectors quickly, just slide the plastic insulator up a little bit and pull *directly* on the connector. (clear plastic covers) make sure to not pull on the wire that's attached to the connectors. edit: fuck octagonal shits no bueno for tekken in my hands
Thanks for the video, I wanted to know if you had any advice for me as my TES+ randomly stopped working. It now thinks that the stick is holding right all the time. I opened it up and disconnected the cables connecting the stick to the board and reconnected however the issue persists. Not sure where to go from here. No other issues with any other keys or PS button.
Ah, I just disconnected everything but the PS button and it still thinks the right direction is triggered. Guess its the PCB. What a shame that it failed within a year and the warranty is only 90 days.
you can use their face plate Photoshop file & easily create your own artwork , I forgot the link / website but if you look it up I am sure you can find it
Fantastic video man. All encompassing and will make modding this stick actually achievable for me.
I hope to see you on Vita Island sometime!

Then someone's going to win with an octo gate and everyone's going to switch.

I think you guys should do a video of your gaming setup as well as a video on what podcast equipment and programs you use

17:25 "Would you look at that!"
What, the elbow?
LMAO, I came in here to say the same thing.
great vid, i would never replace that sweet skull but those buttons and gotta go
I have the exact stick and i'm gonna mod mine as well. I'm gonna use this video as a guide
If you just pull the original Shadowloo art off carefully by hand you can use it again later as seen in another mod video.
Great video, the button issue has me terrified because with my luck it would happen to me. But, I'm pretty certain I'm going to give it a shot anyways. Possibly buying extra wiring in case it happens with me as well.
The skull plate was destroyed in the process? U cant keep it pristine after the process?
you took a risk man , i dont no was it worth it , i love the stock one

RIP mad catz :(

tech innovations are dope. If I'm not wrong they even have VLX plexis if you wanna mod that stick too but you really shouldn't have to.
Nice love fightstick mods
The Platformers Thanks for this Video.

Madcatz tes+ I am looking for Quality High Definition Pictures for my machine. I would appreciate if you could help. Down link please?
do this work on MadCatz PS3 - ARCADE FIGHTSTICK - Soul Edition - Soul Calibur V too ???? with same part ?
Fun video, good work
Do you have the Shovel Knight Template Picture on you by any chance?
I probably have it saved somewhere if you're still interested - sorry for the late reply!
Chris Shriver so? If you have it, could you send it? Thx
Do you have to get new plexi for the stick, or can you just use the one it came with?
mau5mat I actually had to get a separate plexi. The stock one is probably going to get destroyed if you do this lol
Thanks!
Not bad for never modding before...
Except you knew exactly what to do and what tools to use ...
He did his research on it
Can you by any chance share the shovel knight image template?

B8Addict aww that's a shame man I'm sorry to hear that :'(
The Platformers hey! I contacted Mad Catz and they were willing to cover the stick for me! Just have to ship it on my dime. Thanks again for your help
aw that's awesome! I'm glad you could get it fixed up! :D
Thank you so much!
anyone know if you can put a crown korean lever in this fightstick?
What size does the tes+ picture have to be I wanna mod mine
deeney weiney honestly I'm not sure, I just threw a high Res 1920x1080 image in the TES+ template in photoshop
good video, there has to be an easier way to disconnect those wires to the buttons
ValhallaOutcast I'm sure there is Haha it was absolutely ridiculous
can you use it on the pc ?
how big are the buttons? is it 32mm
Carlosman668 they should be 30mm
how did u make such a beautiful template?! ;)
you can use their face plate Photoshop file & easily create your own artwork , I forgot the link / website but if you look it up I am sure you can find it
I think it's this link try it out www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/index.cfm?loc=about&sub=templates
Funny, I actually played shovel knight with an arcade stick
$150 on MadCatz official site, $200 on Amazon.
dude u could have just layed the art on top
have you done this? I was curious if you could just lay new artwork on top
ValhallaOutcast art should always go under buttons, keeps it secure, keeps it from tearing
I understand taking the buttons off but do you need to peel the sticker artwork off or can you just layer the new one with plexi on top of it
ValhallaOutcast you probably could, but that brings height issues and may strain the plexi and screws etc
HiddenApache makes sense the added thickness will stop the screws from going down all the way, thanks
