Would love a series for motorcycle boots. There are a few European brands that are making boots that are made with traditional/heritage construction (or at least some that look like they do) while incorporating motorcycle specific safety features. Rokker, Merlin, and Stylmartin are a few of the brands I'd be interested in alongside the big names.
Would love to see you do more motorcycle boots! Definitely a unique market due to the safety features that you can't assure with other boot brands/types.

I wasn’t sure of the size Indie Ridge boot I should order so I called the company. The OWNER picked up the phone! Long story short while on the phone … He asked me to measure my foot. Meanwhile I could hear him measuring his own boots and after a few minutes we came up with the proper size. WHAT OTHER COMPANY DOES THAT? Anyways, I ordered them. I couldn’t be happier with them. Will I order from them again? Oh hell yes. But unfortunately for Steve, it’s going to be a while because they look like they’ll last forever. 👍👍

I like the style on those better than the newer revision of the TCX Street riding shoes I've been wearing for 5 or so years. Definitely interested to see them tested in moto use and cut in half.
I’ve cut so many of my boots in half it’s ridiculous. Weston actually cut a Version 2.0 in half for me in 2020ish just to give me feedback. The red inner heal counter is a nod to Rose Anvil.

I’d love to see a video taking a bunch of popular motorcycle boots and cut them in half. I’m super curious what differences we’ll find in the sole and toe box and heel, compared to normal boots. I’ve wondered how much extra safety material is truly in these beyond just extra reinforcement so they hold up a little better to abuse. Would love to see some TCX, Forma and Rokker boots (especially the urban ranger which is modeled after the iron ranger).
Love what you do! I’d really like to see these compared “cut in half” to the Dainese Metropolis motorcycle shoes that I have now. Maybe I’ll need to upgrade to the Indie Ridge if they truly are superior. I’ll leave it up to you to prove it.
I haven’t tried those, they look cool. On Revzilla they say CE 2 certified, but there’s four different tests for EN 13634:2017 plus optional tests. One of those tests is height. That shoe is a level 1, simply because it’s not shin high. Definitely not trying to knock Dainese and they are rad, but it’s odd they called it CE 2, when they scored a Level 1 on at least one of the tests.

I appreciate the Moto contents. The best shoes I've personally found so far are the Fulton by reax , they are 150 everywhere , good moto bits in the right places. Would like to see those cut up.
They’re not Toucan’s, but we scored a Level 2 in abrasion, puncture resistance, and transverse rigidity. We got a level 1 on height, because you need to be shin high to get a 2. Definitely not knocking AS, but you’d be hard pressed to find Level 2 protection in an ankle high boot. Just food for thought.
Tried a pair of Indies. Curious on the cut video. In hand the materials feel fair for the price. Toebox was too tight so I had to send them back. My go to is tcx ikasu's.
You should cut some Alpinestar SMX 6 boots, they're one of the most popular models of riding boots. They're generally for more sporty riding and not really boots you would wear much off the bike though.
Whats with Indie Ridge and sizing?? Do they think everyone that rides has massive feet? Smallest size on their website for men is 8.5 which is equal to a EU size 42. A couple years ago they claimed they would be producing smaller sizes, but still nothing in a EU40

Maan, a couple years ago I saw these Harley Davidson sneakers at a store and they looked a lot like the Crossfield, really liked how those looked but never managed to get a pair in my size.

In Europe they have a specific test strictly for motorcycle boots. They measure 1. Height 2. Puncture Resistance 3. Abrasion and 4. Transverse Rigidity (in my opinion the most important). There’s optional tests too like waterproofing, etc. A level 1 is a standard pass, Level 2 is a “Superior Pass”. Because we don’t require any specific testing for “motorcycle boot” I sent them to Italy for testing. We scored 1 2 2 2 + WR (resistance to water). So in Europe yes, they have to be certified to be a “motorcycle boot”. We don’t have an American equivalent though.
These really need to be cut. The material and quality externally seems really good, unfortunately the site doesnt say much about protection beyond CE ratings. The leather looks better than what i find from motorcycle brands but need to know what protective elements/tech are in them. Basically they look good but im curious if the real protective elements are up to par with TCX riding shoes which are kinda the gold standard for riding shoes.
After lots of riding I’ve determined you cannot have a safe boot that you can wear off the bike. If you are truly wearing boots to keep you safe you need to carry spare shoes for when you get to your destination if you plan on doing a lot of walking.
i have worn Alt- Berg clubman motorcycle boots for a decade or so, not the most comfortable to walk around in but do able. Handmade in england ...supposedly, be cool if you could bifurcate one of those.

I have 3 problems with Indie Ridge, they're ugly as crap (subjective), they don't have speed hooks so they're harder to put on if you have limited mobility, they don't make wide sizes (which is crazy because if you look at companies that offer wide selections they are always sold out).
Not much bang for the buck. The protection afforded by these is hardly better than a pair of hi-top sneakers for $1000? Caught between a bike and the hard road? These won't cut it.

I built a custom last suited for more of an “American” fit once broken in. I like to wiggle my toes, and the slightly wider toe box def helps.

My experience with their perforated boot this summer has been very positive.
I got to try them for the first time in Tampa this year on Shadetree’s FXR death mobile, and even with the humidity I was very pleasantly surprised.
