- Did you notice in Hazbin Hotel Episode 5, Husker ended up revealing that Alastor is on a leash (aka a DEAL), but what if Husker didn't actually mean that? What if Husker was actually referring to Alastor always cleaning up after Mimzy.

Alastor didnt sound or act like he was suprised that husker knew so its likely that husker knew about that deal
Then again, Alastor is known for hiding his true emotions/intentions behind his smile, so maybe he was actually surprised and just didn't show it.

I actually think thats actually the opposite thing, first Alastor's reaction to Husk's phrase "Big talk for someone who's also on a leash", Alastor wide opens his eyes yeah thats his demon mode too but that is a common reaction to everyone who is surprised about something, according to his "ha ha, what did you say?" Thats too a common action for those who got busted, like "idk what you're talking about, what you mean? Etc.", Husk's reaction when the chains appear and make him fall is actual fear and he says "Fuck; nothing. .. i was just..." the "Fuck" was like "oh shit i made him angry" but the other words literally says that he shouldn't know about the deal like "nothing i was just babbling my bad", then alastor starts to threaten Husk, this shows that Husk shouldnt know about it becuase if Alastor told him or Husk casually found out about the deal probably Alastor would've already threaten to kill if he would've said something about it, so I think that Alastor was actually surprised
Husker was a gambler, he probably picked up his reading skills from that.
I find it a little weird that people really like to use "Husker" when they talk about Husk. Only Alastor calls him like this in the series as a nickname.

That makes SO much sense cause there is no way in fuck Alastor would ever tell anyone he is involved in a deal, especially to someone he owns.

Unless husk was present at the time and saw the deal take place. We don't know when husk sold his soul to alastor but we know it was before his 7 year absence. We can infer alastor was absent fulfilling his end of the bargain. Whatever he sold his soul for, whoever he sold it to.. it must've been very important to him. His pride won't allow him to show weakness, so being called out for it by husk really shook him. That's why he got so pissed so fast. He wasn't surprised that husk knew. He was angry that husk dared speak of it.
It was a bit obvious in the pilot and that episode as he's confirming "no one knows why" and you can see him contemplating whether to test the waters or leave it alone
I just assumed he knew because alastor told him, expecting husk to not really say much about it because if husk did, well we all know what would happen.

I actually disagree with this. I think that not only did husk already know about the deal, he knows where Alastor had been for the past seven years.
Alastor keeps him around for a reason and that reason might be that he confides in husk regularly. “Everyone bitches to the bartender“.
Alastor could have easily torn his soul apart like with the other overlords, but he didn’t. There’s a lot more to their relationship than just servant and master.
I think so too, but maybe not knowing everything about his whereabouts over the past 7 years. Maybe he would call soon him when needed but he never knew where he was when he was called, only that alastor was there and he needed something from him.
I believe it could be a combination of things. Personally I like both theories

I think Alastor actually really sees Husk as a friend. He took his soul to stop Husk from losing to somebody who would abuse it. Husk isn't a bad guy, just really messed up. I'm holding onto my theroy that Alastor put Hust in the hotel to see if redemption can break contracts, and if it can he wants Husk to redeem himself. Husk calling him out for being on a leash was incredibly disrespectful, even from a friend. Honestly, if I had Alastors power I'd have done the same. Alastor can't let people walk over him, even if they're his friend. He has an image to maintain, and the V's seem to always be watching
I feel like maybe husk is like a confidant for alastor and alastor uses the fact that he owns husks soul so he cant tell anyone about his secrets

OR He didn't know and pushed his "Luck" (gambling pun) further than he should've. If he knew about it he wouldn'tve done it hence why he cowered once he realized he crossed the line. If he knew prior he wouldn't have touched alastors sore spot

It’s also quite likely that the deal was made before he disappeared and has nothing to do with why he was missing
I kinda like the idea that he made the deal when he was still alive and might be why he was so powerful when he got to hell

It was either him thinking he's poking Al being "owned" by Mimzy as a backhanded joke or he knows about Al's deal and for a second just lost his cool and wanted to stick it where it hurts
Im starting to think Alastor made a regrettable deal with someone or something more powerful in order to become the radio demon. At some point he does try to find “entertainment” through other’s suffering and trying to fix a broken system or issue. But this only a reflection of what Alastor is going through. I imagine the shadow entity that he has is not himself, but more of a two personality in one person, except the shadow entity might have been from somewhere else. Think about it, he only ever existed in hell for a while before he immediately rose into power. I doubt that such feat required only a feasible amount of power, so that begs the question, Alastor may seem like a genius but I doubt he would sacrifice his own soul just for power and no control over his life. The 7 year hiatus might be a bit of a plot hole that might be set up for Season 2 or perhaps not. But it also makes me think that the shadow entity is influencing the way he thinks or at least enhances the character of the radio demon. Especially in the final song of Season 1, him singing very subtle hints about which personality is talking and which is not.
Oh there's no hint about the deal being unfavorable for him, he's VERY overt about it. There was a rumor or something from the comics that I read saying that Alastor had made his deal with the Root of All Evil (known as Roo from here on out) when he was alive. Alastor is a Dexter-esq serial killer in life, only targeting other killers/monsters. When he landed in Hell from a dumb mistake (getting seen burying a body and being shit because he mistaken for a deer, which is why he looks like one) he landed in front of Roo. She showed him how to use his own soul as power and granted him a portion of her own. When Alastor lost to the V's, she punished him the exact same way he punished the Overlords he took out, by tearing him apart over and over. It's why he looks stitched together.
For anyone wondering about his full demon/sinner form, it's a Wendigo, a Native American mythological creature, created by people eating and enjoying human flesh while living alone in the deep woods. So it makes sense why he's friendly with the Canibals, he's one of them, just not the exact SAME as them

My crazy theory is that Alastor made a deal with Roo/Eve before his seven year hiatus and she helped him to rise in the Overlord status like in the story that Mimzy tells. And we know he disappeared after a battle with the Vees so maybe he went to seek help to Roo and while he was doing that, maybe Lilith figured that something weird was going on hence why she also disappeared for 7 years. And then after 7 years maybe Alastor came back as a spy for Roo to keep a close eye on the Hotel. Also remember that Viv said that Roo is going to cause some trouble at the Hotel in the future and maybe she punished Alastor for losing to the Vees. It can also imply why he wants to escape the deal and maybe thats why he made a deal with Charlie so she can help with the "favor" he asked for.
Husk on the other hand was a gambler and of course he knows how to read people's faces. It can also imply from the fact that he used to own souls since he once was an Overlord and also his soul being owned by Alastor. I think he read the signs on Alastor and to confirm his suspicion he poked at the topic which made Alastor angry.
Husker is a gambler, he is a master of reading people and bluffing to figure out what makes people tick.

I, also, can naturally read people and situations and pickup on secrets. I am no gossip, but like Husk, I will often mention their secret in private in case they need a friend to talk to. Sometimes they treat me as someone they confided in. Sometimes they flip out, make threats if I tell and kick me out of their life.

Also he cant use mimzy to figure this out, al helps her bc she was al friend. Also we see that al isnt surpriesed which means he was with husk when he was pulled on a leash or the deal was made.
