I am surprised how often I am watching channels on Samsung TV Plus since buying my new Samsung TV. The guide seems to be much improved over other live guides on other F.A.S.T. services.
@@greyeagle4388 The problem is not everyone uses their TV OS. Hey, not everyone has a Samsung TV. Some of their "exclusive" content (like Conan O'Brien) is NOT on the web version. If they can't be like The Roku Channel and make apps for other platforms, they're not going to be a major player.
Just hooked up the Onn 4k (20 dollar version) it is great... I used to be a Roku only person but since all my Rokus no longer work with my Tablo DVR, I am switching
I always bought Samsung tv's the last few years since it had Samsung TV plus which helped me cut the cord quickly. However I do use a Roku since the home screen can be modified and made to be cleaner and less congested for me. I did edit the channel listing on Samsung tV to make the guide smaller and added my OTA channels to it as well.
I'd like to be a fan of ME-TV toons but, it's only broadcasting from a very low powered sub-station in my area and I can't pick it up. I'm still waiting for the free curated version the Weigel program manager mentioned would be on an ad supported streaming service like TUBI or Pluto - but, alas...it's has not yet arrived. I'm curious about the new ONN streaming device. I really enjoy their products. Great episode!
I think Walmart with the ONN brand doesn't really mind have a LOT of items in a segment - just look at their Android Tablets - they have over half a dozen in their current generation and still selling the 2023 ones - their only "risk" is that people don't buy because there's analysis paralysis and just don't click the buy button. I have the Pro and it's been fantastic, honestly I'd just buy another one for other TVs with an older device.
I have a Samsung phone and Samsung TV Plus was preinstalled on my new phone. It's not bad, but would prefer an app on my Roku over mirroring it on my phone
TCL Google TV in living room. I don't like the app portion meaning organization and deleting of apps. Roku is simple faster and less clutter compared to Google. Don't need my phone connected to my TV to use it to fullest potential. Google TV wants your phone connected to TV for full potential.
If you use Android super convenient since some TV's s don't support casting from Android. If Apple maybe unnecessary. Don't cast often but easy when needed. I use Google Tv on a Chromecast device.
Yes RUclips does get a lot of views on sports and news wonder if it's because of people live streaming college football and nightly news shows from cable news networks? Now can you tell me how people in foreign countries are able to live stream these football games and use programs without their channels being shut down? If I live streamed a college football game they would shut my channel down within 5 minutes.
Sure they may be free.... but whether they have Quality channels and content is another story... most of it is just background noise and not really worth watching
I have a Samsung it has the Tv plus, it is not user friendly to me. Now this maybe bc it's an older TV 32" 2017 ?? or earlier. The user face is at the bottom of the screen & the Tv remote is terrible. We cut the cord cold turkey I tried for 2 weeks to use samsung tv plus it was a nightmare the slightest touch and you are sent in a Tv death spiral. I jump on youtube & searched for the best User friendly streaming device I found Roku to be the best option. Since we don't watch live tv shows, 7 months in to Cord cutting free life, I think we made fantastic decision, not paying for stuff we don't watch. There are tons of apps for live new & other Fast SS Tubi Pluto Roku. I wish I could have cut the cord sooner, but in hindsight I don't think we were ready. The straw the broke the camel's back was $340.00 cable bill, and all the other price hikes on everyday life.
My brand new Samsung was $249 at Costco and I understand it’s available at that price at a few other stores. I would seriously consider upgrading. Mine works great, very happy with it.
@@ejc1956 Thanks for the info, I will have to check it out. Here's the thing we don't replace any devices till they don't work anymore. I am just glad we were able to convert it to being useful. 😂😂😂
Google TV streamers is really good specially if u Google user , love the feathers & interface lovin it🙌🔥 But i bought the Google streamer few weeks ago when is released ..this Walmart version is Awesome & in price 2
Some content is excellent some content is not on those fast stuff. It all depends on what you want and what's available. I get that it's free and so you're happy with it. I wont quibble with that. Nothing beats free.
interesting, what problem did you have with it. I've had one of their TV's for years, I also have 2 of their streaming devices that work just as fast or faster than a roku or a firestick
Onn is just Walmart's generic in-house brand. The actual devices they sell are made by dozens of different companies, some good, some bad. I own a 2K, 4K and 4K Pro and they all work fine. The 2K is almost obsolete and a bit laggy but still works.
No ads, period. I don't even watch sports live anymore. The ads have gotten so out of hand. Whether standard TV shows or sports, I'm ok waiting a day or two so I can avoid commercials. One of the things that originally made cord cutting attractive was the lack of ads. Now services have continued to raise prices and adding ads. No thank you. There has been a huge reduction in piracy, I see that trend reversing. Services are going to go the way of the dodo bird if they don't get back to what made them popular in the first place. It's now as expensive or more expensive to go the cord cutting route as it is to get cable. Cable has brought their pricing down while the netflix' etc of the world have taken over being the greedy uncle in that world.

Samsung is the best TV branded streaming service out there. There are channels on it for everybody?
I agree I do like the newer tizen it's much better. Now my old Samsung 4k i use a onn box

I like the Roku TCL TVs, but they are underpowered.
Depends which tcl series tv you get.

I miss ESPN news from the early 2000s. When they changed the format it was sad day.
Can I side load apps on it?
Unless something has recently changed, yes, you can.

Wrong, the sure volume and variety is staggering. I find much more to watch then I ever did with cable TV
I could say the exact same thing for most subscription-based streaming services. Nothing but garbage, so why pay for it?
Thank you
