I always have issues trick or treating because families are so rarely home on spooky day! And even when they are home, it takes a long time for them to answer the door.
I miss Sims 3. The amount of detail with everything, from cooking, to clothes and accessories, even the game packs had a lot more love and care put into them and way more variety.
I love Sims 3, but I absolutely HATE the zombies from Supernatural. I have to turn the full moon off in my game to prevent it. I'd rather have the ghosts like Sims 4 than the zombies. That said, for me, Sims 3 is far superior and more addictive in so many ways.
The Sims 3 did Halloween SO MUCH better than The Sims 4. The open world was the perfect setting for this holiday, and I love that you can go trick or treating. The Fall festival was so much fun. And you also didn't need to buy a DLC just to carve punkins.
9:14 A helpful tip: Unless you're purposly trying to kill your sim, make sure the candle inside the pumpkin is extinguished before you have your sim stomp on the pumpkin. Because stomping on the pumpkin while there's a lit candle in it will set your sim on fire.
just commenting to add for anyone who doesn't have TS4 pumpkin carving requires additional DLC on top of seasons, you need the spooky stuff pack 😐 & pumpkin carving is a skill in TS4 so your sim wont have many carving options without cheats or maxing the skill obv. great video though! nothing beats TS3 for me in terms of gameplay & also how well fleshed out packs and expansions used to be.
So basically instead of 1 expansion (sims 3 seasons gives full event) you need to have several dlc for sims 4 for it to be basically "Magically appearing sims to accost only your house for candy, while you cant even go trick or treating". Everything in sims 4 is a joke.

Being a sims player since the OG sims, i do appreciate the superior cas n building of sims4, but gameplay is too boring and too child friendly, almost 10 years and still so many missing details and aspects, I won’t touch sims4 again.
I had to download a mod in the Sims 4 just to allow my sims to go out Trick or Treating. I’ve also been wanting a feature like seasonal festivals to return. Or some way to customize community lots that only loads in particular seasons, for example a pumpkin farm in fall and a Christmas tree lot in winter.
Sims 4 trick or treaters just disappear afterwards? I realize that Sims 4 is not Open world, but couldn't they at least have portals at the end of the block, like even Sims 2 has? And your own sims cannot trick or treat? Why couldn't they code for that? You already can visit other sims houses, right? Sims 3 is the clear winner here...so much more gameplay content (and all from one EP)❣ Oh, and if that is not enough, the Sims 3 Store does have some Spooky freebies that you can download.

Throwing eggs at homes and leaving bag on fire before door is from TS3 Generations. Scout outfit is not a halloween outfit, kid Sims are wearing it all the time.
You know, I'mma have to give TS4 credit, since it allows you the freedom to celebrate Halloween or not because not everybody does. I even saw the option for more of a "Fall Harvest" which is great substitute, so I'mma give this one over to TS4!

But Sims 3 does a BETTER job of it cause Sims 3 HAS a system that sims both kids and teens CAN go trick or treating. I had a cuople teens show up for halloween at my dims house for tricks or treats as well as some younger children. That said though I also DO like BOTH ways you can have your Sims carve pumpkins in Both Sims 3 and Sims 4 as well as being able to throw halloween parties. 🤩👍✌🎃

I never played TS3 without nraas mods so I don't know anything besides seasonal events being incredibly active. Neighbors always throw halloween parties or go out together as family/friends to seasonal parks, there's costumes everywhere and always always trick or treating kids coming to my house, bullies egging houses, etc.

Reality: EA milking off of the same game for 10 years that has like 20 stuff packs and 20 expansion packs. (I didn’t like this game from the beginning). I would turn down graphics as much as possible to make the game run smoother. I don't have too much problem with Sims 3. But I don't use CC because i compare the games as they are ❤️
The bowl is suppose to go outside not inside. In America if we don't want to be in contact with people or are not going to be home we leave out a bowl of candy on the porch. So the bowl was never meant to be placed inside

Its my opinion and i hope EA (not sure if they would though) use both sides of sims 3 and 4 to make sims 5's halloween season better than them.

It was so festive, they sorta did event in Sims 4 for like the High school pack with that festival which was fun. They couldn’t even add the kids/teens having candy buckets when they trick or treat like Sims 3. They just grab the candy lol. It’s so fucking broken.. The only reason I play sims 4 is because EA wouldn’t let me get my original account back that had ALL the sims 3 expansions and stuff on there. They suck.

You can install custom recipes, thats what I did there are some spooky recipes for the sims 3 :)

Look for Nraas mods that help with problem solving, in addition to the Lazy Duchess mod.
