I took a lesson and the pro had me practice the same thing to work on my slice. Keeping the club flatter during the swing basically. Takes practice, but it works.
I have followed so many different tips, which have helped me solve a variety of problems with my drive, but slicing, has persisted. After seeing this video, I went out and swung a few times with some foam practice balls and the slice was noticeably diminished and one some swings non-existent. Anyone who has used foam balls knows that the slice is accentuated due to the massive compression on the ball. So for any of my shots to show little or even no slice is a massive accomplishment. I can;t wait to try this out at the range and hopefully out on the course soon!
Just getting back into golf after 6-8yrs of not even picking up a club went to driving range a few times & played a couple of rounds had a bad fade & started to play going wayyyyy left to counter act it, watched this last night & went to drivi n g range this morning, spent 5-10mins just swinging over the ball to warm up out of 100 balls a only hit 3-4 with a fade, unreal thank you so simple & now im dying to get on the course not dreading it 👍 coukdnt recommend high enough for any casual golfers like me who think they have to accept just having a bad fade in their game 😎👌
I must say, thank you Mr. Haney for sharing that information. I have never really understood the concept of 'hitting to the right' until you described it with words, and the visual description through the angle of the camera. I'm sure that was your intention, and I am not sure how, but that for me, made complete sense. I don't take things of this nature lightly, so I had to say how appreciative I am for that swing thought. Words are informative, however, when you capture the visual, it makes all the difference in the pressure. I owe you one.. But, I don't hit a driver, 3,4 wood for me, but no matter, Your the best. Thank for the video
Idk why Hank Haney didn't come out with this 13 years ago when I was in high school lol. I would have done better in the playoffs. Most importantly, what he doesn't talk about that he speaks about in his other videos is the bowing of the wrist. That's another key reason why golfers slice or fade the ball because they are cuffing their wrist at the top of their back swing. Therefore, if you practice bowing the wrist at the top of your back swing, it definitely improves the club face at impact.
... Same here. I was watching maybe the same, "advertisement." He kept repeating the same thing, "If you just fix this ONE simple thing", you will not slice and start hitting them straight. He NEVER mentioned the ONE, SIMPLE, THING, so I searched his name and that's how I ended up here. .
@@240LTS Me too, I'm pretty sure if you watch the ad all the way through he tries to sell you a subscription to some online golf video club! Where the "ONE simple thing" video is hosted 😭🤣
“Losing respect on the golf course”. Funny, sad, and true. That’s exactly what’s happening to me in my golf group. I’ve played so much bad golf and failed to improve at the game.
@@callawaygolf Hi I recently purchased your Big Bertha Driver after I’ve seen this video and my slice happens to be even worse. Is there any way I can get a refund?
Nice video and I have heard this before and as a lefthanded golfer when I swing toward left center I tend to hit the ball a tad late which causes not a slice but I believe it’s called a push 🤷♂️is this a club face issue or am I late with contact
its your form - something is not quite right....I am 200 lbs 5ft 10......and I can't get past 200yds. I should be hitting , min, 230 to 250......its all form. Once thats down , I suspect you can use a tree branch and nail it every time.
I've tried this but still slice badly , I've tried squaring up my left hand at that point he said but it either slices or hooks badly , sometimes it goes well
Saw his promo video telling me that I've never seen this tip and RUclips videos are wasting my time. Turns out it's the exact same advice as everyone else.
I don't know if this video will help many chronic slicers hit a draw. Maybe I missed it but Mr. Haney did not say where to aim the club head at address? I think this video was meant to explain what his book The Only Golf Lesson You Will Ever Need. .. Once I learned to aim the club head to the right of the ball target line but closed to my swing path (closed foot position), I had a real difficult time following the convoluted explanation in this video. However, once you read how to fix your slice in the book and watch this video you will be hitting baby draws all day long.
Thanks for the feedback. We're offering two stock shaft lengths in the new Big Bertha Fusion (44.5" and 45.5") this way we'll hopefully suit all players!
isthatabear They are on all manufacturers irons with a low cog which helps get the ball in the air easier but hits it higher so they strengthen the lofts.
Mfrs have jacked the lofts so their 6 iron is longer than the next guy's 6 iron. Pull out your 4 iron. In 1963, that's the club Jack and Arnie called a 1 iron. Anyone selling a set w/ a 2 iron these days? No, it'd have about 8 deg of loft and 1% of golfers could hit it. Bring on the hybrids.........
tatchy1001 Thanks for the explanation. I don't agree with this. An amateur who can't hit it high will benefit from the low COG, but with the stronger lofts they still won't be able to hit it high. In my opinion they are just trying to boost Trackman/GC2 numbers for distance which is lame in my opinion.
Hank Haney getting that Callaway $$$! Isn't it Time for Tiger to go back to him for Swing change, every 10 years or so he changes his Swing and goes back to his old coaches ie Butch, Hank
I'm sure Hank's a great teacher, and I think he used to be a Hogan disciple. With that in mind, how in the world can you be thinking about squaring your hand when the club is 2 ft from impact? Maybe it's me but that kind of timing I would find impossible.
Because it should be a gradual release of the club during the downswing and thru impact. Sometimes people hold off the release without even realizing it, or sometimes they do it trying to hold lag. He’s just giving a thought to have that encourages proper release of the club.
Exactly my thought. This is where aspiring golfers must be careful. This is a temporary fix particular to 1 club in the bag. He actually promoted casting and trying to square the club with the hands. Terrible, I mean terrible advice. It may work but it will be short lived. As a life long hooker of the golf ball, this advice will eventually ruin your game. Do not do this is all I can say. Work on the club squaring naturally with grip, ball position, and lower body. Never ever try it as a permanent fix using hands and arms for swing path.
+roosterinboro....without hitting balls, swing a club and have your hands turn over as they reach your right leg. Just doung that helped me considerably. Good luck
I heard Moe Norman once say ....keep your eye about 10 inches or so behind the ball.....thats where the clubface squares up...was he saying the same thing. What i can't get over is how some wee guys , some standing like cranes or as awkward as one can be , using ancient clubs - whacking the ball all day long, a helluva alot straighter and longer than i can only hope for. Ok I try this
Yep. It works. For a variety of reasons. But I think primary among them is that you cannot swing to the right by coming in from the outside of the line. Not physically possible. You can only swing on a line out to the right from the inside of the intended line. Inside is where the draw is created. Less so than by swinging to the right. Golf is awfully difficult. Anybody who say it isn't is blowing smoke.
it works with my woods dont think it will with my driver tho. whenever i aim right i fight to stop it from drawing back but driver is a different swing never slice a wood 100 yards right.
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how to increase your golf drive try Pyzork Golf Drive Professor (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy got cool success with it.
How does Hank fix a slice? He goes right into Phil Rogers bag of tricks and teaches something Phil taught and treats it as his own. Pretty weak Hank.
