5. Install Nardogs 3-3-5
4. Unleash Oliver on Bambi QBs
3. Develop Cornerbacks
2. Sit back and enjoy the Frisco Kid shredding secondaries
1. Keep 8-10 OLmen healthy to unleash he'll fire and fury of Gordon, Nixon and Collins
Insane vernacular
Thank goodness Okstate has an older veteran in Alan Bowman replacing Sanders. 👍 Rangel is another year older WITH experience!
Number 1 is a better offensive line. Have to be able to pass pro and run the ball! Everything starts there.
RB’s: Richardson was NOT a good RB. Absolutely zero vision and he left because Ollie/Collins/Nixon are 100% carrying the ball this year.
WR’s: better playmakers
OL: MUCH deeper.
Defense: is absolutely unknown. Lol
Bowman holds the keys to oSu’s success. Casual fans hate on Spencer but that kid was tough and made watching oSu entertaining. He also played behind the worst OL in P5 football last year because of the injuries. I hope Bowman is the gunslinger he was recruited to be because the run game should be fixed 🤞🏼
Agreed. Richardson was essentially a small fast fullback looking for tacklers..
Olli is no longer an 18 yr old true freshman,, Nixon is up to 190 and still the fastest player on the field and Collins appears to have vision, moves and power.
IF Bowman can beat out Rangel. Folks forget Rangel as a true freshman played behind the most busted up version of OL that Sanders had.
Keep the two strings of OLs healthy and be able to continue grind tough running plays.
5th If the game plans aren't working make adjustments. Gundy has said he doesn't like making adjustments, getting away from the game plan, and hardly doesn't. Let's get 7+ wins this season.
Secondly if we can't block again this season we are going to have to get creative on offense. Gundy wants to go old school but if we can't block I pray he doesn't get stubborn and not make adjustments.
4th take advantage of the running back depth, it's been a while since they've been stacked at the position. Every time Jackson touches the ball he looks powerful and fast like a SEC running back. The transfer from Michigan St looks legit. Give those guys some trust and a chance.
First; OSU does not have to play TCU, Baylor, Tech, or Texas. 2nd, as the new guy said, RB Ollie Gordon is a good runner out of the backfield, and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. 3rd, OSU has been running some 3-3-5, but that wasn't their main defense. They will have some times when they run a 4-2-5 on a 3rd and short, so things won't be that much different on defense. The "injury" problem was playing a dirty Texas team, if you noticed Ok State beat them but they were not the same after that game. Last and most important, Alan Bowman is an upgrade from Spencer Sanders. Bowman just needs to play well and teach Zane Flores, because Flores is the future QB of this team.
If we can do one thing only to improve on this year the number one priority should be improving/develop the offensive line. You can win games with average QB play if you got a good line. Half of Sanders interceptions was because of poor blocking and cause of his injuries. I would like to see Rangel get the start this season so he can develop and the experience so when it's Zane's turn he'll know the offense when he's ready.
Oline is the key.
I’d like to see Zane Flores get some snaps in some blowouts to see they have confidence in him that he’s the future and won’t get stuck behind Gunnar Gundy, Garret Rangel the younger guys!
Ollie will win the Heisman before he graduates.
3rd get Colin Oliver more play and put him in the right position in this defense.
He needs to recruit better, period. He hasn't landed a class inside the top 30 in ten years. You can only average 8-10 wins for so long before that lack of quality depth catches up with you. Just my two cents.
No. 1 should be, remove Gundy and get a real coach
