  • Gull guano! How do you like the title? It's supposed to be "Visiting Winter Gulls"---I would correct it, but it takes so long to upload the file!
Not a lot visiting gulls this year. There is usually at least one or two Kumlien in the bunch, but I have not yet seen any this year. This video was recorded on a very cold windy day, so you do hear a lot of wind, but a couple of times the gulls call, so I left the audio. Very close by, you can also hear the call of a Tufted Titmouse a couple of times.
In today's group you will see the most popular, and highly variable Herring and Ring-billed gulls. Mixed in is a Lesser Black-backed, and a few Iceland. It's difficult to point out the less frequent visitors unless they are in full flight or exposing the identifying markers (bill size [good to have side to side comparisons], tertials, mirrors [white spots] on primaries, etc.) in a stretch.
Enjoy! And if you DO enjoy, please like and subscribe!
