    The second best use for a carbon filter is removing the smoke smell from burning your product! Nothing will compare! Cheap easy setup is a 4” combination fan, ducting and filter for about $110.00 on Amazon. Put aside the ducting and set the fan directly on the filter in a corner of any room and adjust the fan speed by knob. 15 minutes after smoking no one can tell. Period! 🏹

    They work just fine as a blow through filter. You can scrub the air in either direction. You can also use a inlet filter (non-carbon) in this situation to protect the fan from gunk.

    • @raunch187

      Agreed 100% either way works perfectly fine people!

    • @ChefDanKibble

      They do scrub both ways, by why would you want to fork out for an inlet filter in addition to your C-filter. especially true if you running a larger room, you will need a descent size -carbon filter and buying the same flow sized inlet filter would be pointlessly expensive. Run it before your exhaust

I do not have much room in my 2 by 2 tent and was wondering if I could put the inline fan on the outside of the tent ducting it into the tent and a separate duct that will let air exhaust out of tent. BTW I'm not going to use a carbon filter. Would this be sufficient? If not what would you recommend? I look forward to hearing from you. Please keep making your excellently informative videos. I built a charcoal filter out of charcoal granules and hepa filter. The first night I put my formaldehyde meter in front of the air outlet and the reading was lower than the surrounding air, which showed it was working. The third day , however, the reading is higher. I'm dumbfounded. There is a pound of charcoal granules and the room doesn't have huge amount of formaldehyde. I doubt the charcoal are saturated. I know charcoal can adsorb and also can release whatever it adsorb. So are we looking for a filter that can adsorb more than it releases? Will it help if I turn the charcoal granules so that the adsorption can happen more evenly?

The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

    • @tombryant4518
      @tombryant4518 4 года назад +2

      Vince g No, your tent walls are sucking in because your fan is creating a vacuum. It’s moving more air out of the tent than what is able to flow back into it. Open some vents to allow more air flow into the tent. You’re supposed to exchange all the air once a minute anyway, and a plugged filter won’t do that, never mind creating any negative pressure in the tent. You’re actually probably plugging the filter when you spray it with water, and it slowly starts working again (creating a vacuum in the tent) then you spray it again

    • @tombryant4518
      @tombryant4518 4 года назад +1

      Vince g You want negative pressure in the tent to ensure the odours go out through the filter. Otherwise the smells would permeate through whatever crevices they could fit through, and stink up the room, house, or whatever. Gorilla grow tents actually have kits you can buy that reinforce the tent walls so they don’t get sucked in and touch the plants. Just trying to help you out man, not being condescending at all. Let’s figure out what’s going on in there man!

    The wonderful thing about tiggers is tigger's are wonderful things. Their tops are made out of rubber their bottoms are made out of springs. They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy. Fun fun fun fun fun. But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is that I'm the only one. I'm the only one. Hohohohoo

    Growing indoors for 4 years " now I only grow outdoors " I found that carbon filters were pointless because the second you open the grow tent the entire house would fill with the most intense smell of weed and would basically last throughout the grow. One time I had my house opened up airing it out and a couple commented while jogging by ( Smells Good ) But I only grow outside now and the whole neighborhood smells like pot for a month or two. Luckily all my neighbors are cool, plus it's legal now.

      @@alkymistendenmark My point is, don't be fooled thinking that if you use a carbon filter no one will know that you're growing pot.

      Then dont open the tent up so often lol and in my opinion 10 min of smell is better than 70days straight 24hrs a day right ?

    • @jus4funtim
      @jus4funtim 4 года назад

      @@Air-vf6cn Obviously you haven't grown any weed indoors. Opening a tent for ten minutes, "and you can't water 4 or 5 plants that fast" will fill the entire room with the strong smell of pot, and it doesn't go away for hours and it WILL slowly permeate your entire house. During the veg stage it's not a problem but once flowing starts all bets are off , unless you can create an air lock room and take off your clothes before you exit the room anyone entering your house will know you're going pot.

    Not ALL carbon filters are designed to only pull air into it. The brand that I use not only works pushing or pulling, it also has reversible flanges to get more life out of it. I modify my prefilter, which normally goes on outside, to fit on the inside which catches dust etc. I exhaust right back into my room because I run a closed loop climate controlled system. There are ABSOLUTELY no smells and my filters last...

    How much does it cost? I don't find most strains stink. If I had old MH HPS light cabinets a fan might be okay?? Could i hook the filter to the lights? Who cares about stink?

      how much it costs is in the video :) lol if you knew how bad the stink was, you'd probably care. Or not, depends how big your property is.

      Neighbors with same air conditioner ducting, also obviously not fully legal areas, some even in colorado require this filter by law or you can be fined for public nuisance, sounds and also smell is in that law

      i personally don't find the smell a nuisance unlike some of the factories dotted around the world that spew out proper pungent pongs!

      Not sure what strains you mean, every strain I've ever seen in flower will overpower not only your house but most of a decent sized yard with an unmistakable odor, unless carbon filters are used. I love the smell myself, but some neighbors and all law enforcement absolutely HATE the smell. Anyone who comes to your door , for whatever reason will instantly know what's up. Legal states might not be a problem, other States could be BIG problem.

    just here to say a carbon filter works both ways lol. kind of silly to think it only works one way. Although one way could be considered better better over the other but its purely situational. I too have grown weed for a very long time and ive always done it 1 in and 1 out, and to be honest its not enough. As silly as a carbon filter working only one way sounds, it be nice if the carbon filter had some sort of way to release scent to cover escaping smells.
