okay as an ex phys bachelor degree and certified PT & DPT student i loved this vid but would’ve changed just a few things. a sumo DL is literally so much easier to get up than a conventional DL. like even though the guy’s form wasn’t so hot who did the heavy ass conventional DL, that is so much harder than a sumo where the amount of distance is so more shorter and there’s s larger base of support. i would’ve liked to see them all choose the same lift at least even if they did mixed grip use a belt or not. also, height and weight matter a lot!! for someone who is say 150 lb to DL 300+ lb is accounted as stronger based on weight vs load versus someone who is say 220 lb lifting 300+ lb. but loved the encouragement and male positivity!! angel definitely could’ve pushed himself more he’s underestimating his ability!!
Ex phys major here, thats exactly what I said! I would’ve loved seeing both conventional and sumo techniques separately bc range of motion matters. You wouldn’t see someone who is 6 foot competing against someone is 5 foot
I would think that the conventional deadlift is tougher because the active muscles are more extended in their starting position than during a sumo-which of course correlates with the distance but is not exactly the same
There are different forms to deadlift that’s why some of the doods had a wide base and other had their feet close. Also shaking like the military dood is pretty common in deadlift I feel. GREAT VID
1 The energy in this video is why I love the gym community! 2 how has Cody never seen someone twerk when trying to hit a deadlift pr? 3 goes to show what a huge difference there is between bodybuilding and powerlifting! 4 I wonder how different it would be if they had to either all do sumo or all do conventional 5 dude with the quads might have a stronger squat in comparison to the rest of the guys. I also think he could have pulled more with a proper rest between attempts and if he just tried to go heavier. It was sweet to see how happy he was with his new pr but I bet he would shock himself and can do more. Absolutely loved this vid!
cody you were right. i’m here to tell you that strength isn’t literally just strength when it comes to lifting. a small body like me can lift like 2 times my weight only because of technique. you’re half right but no real string dude relies on only muscle. maybe work on you’re technique and WE’LL see some progress on you. ily

I can't believe i hadn't gotten around to watching Cody's videos until this year. The amount of genuinely fun and entertaining videos that get uploaded so consistently is such a treasure, genuine pure vibe times
8:08 The technique used can help a lifter lift more weight. I think what that guy was saying is has an advantage because of his technique but that the other two are just as strong in raw power.
Lifting a car off someone sounds like the weirdest mugging ever
Thank you for uploading consistently. Your videos bring me comfort and always make my day. Much love from Puerto Rico to you and your family 🇵🇷❤️
Raw strength is like a prime cut of meat; it has natural potential to be a great dish. Good technique is like knowing how to make a great dish; you can make one regardless of the cut you have, and you will almost certainly ruin a prime cut if you have no idea what you're doing.
Angel seems like an actual angel. Especially since they referred to playing games like Tomb Raider as Lara Croft has my whole heart ❤️ getitbruh lift em weights! 💓
okay as an ex phys bachelor degree and certified PT & DPT student i loved this vid but would’ve changed just a few things. a sumo DL is literally so much easier to get up than a conventional DL. like even though the guy’s form wasn’t so hot who did the heavy ass conventional DL, that is so much harder than a sumo where the amount of distance is so more shorter and there’s s larger base of support. i would’ve liked to see them all choose the same lift at least even if they did mixed grip use a belt or not. also, height and weight matter a lot!! for someone who is say 150 lb to DL 300+ lb is accounted as stronger based on weight vs load versus someone who is say 220 lb lifting 300+ lb. but loved the encouragement and male positivity!! angel definitely could’ve pushed himself more he’s underestimating his ability!!
Ex phys major here, thats exactly what I said! I would’ve loved seeing both conventional and sumo techniques separately bc range of motion matters. You wouldn’t see someone who is 6 foot competing against someone is 5 foot
I thought the same thing about the sumo being easier
I would think that the conventional deadlift is tougher because the active muscles are more extended in their starting position than during a sumo-which of course correlates with the distance but is not exactly the same
Just finished making a matcha tea and I knocked the whole thing over watching this video. Thanks Cody 😅
if cody thinks this is the most wholesome jubilee rank vid he should see the female version of this
16:31 that was so wholesome! The production team is always down to play along 👏🏾
Cody was silent for a good minute at the start just to break the silence abruptly to talk about how nice that dudes quads were 😂
There are different forms to deadlift that’s why some of the doods had a wide base and other had their feet close. Also shaking like the military dood is pretty common in deadlift I feel. GREAT VID
Fr shoutout to whoever keeps letting Cody have fun
Ironman Cody just being humble af
1 The energy in this video is why I love the gym community!
2 how has Cody never seen someone twerk when trying to hit a deadlift pr?
3 goes to show what a huge difference there is between bodybuilding and powerlifting!
4 I wonder how different it would be if they had to either all do sumo or all do conventional
5 dude with the quads might have a stronger squat in comparison to the rest of the guys. I also think he could have pulled more with a proper rest between attempts and if he just tried to go heavier. It was sweet to see how happy he was with his new pr but I bet he would shock himself and can do more.
Absolutely loved this vid!
I appreciate you Cody, I can’t eat lunch without you.
I always watch Cody’s videos warming up on the treadmill, this one just happened to work out
I JUST SAT DOWN FOR LUNCH LETS GOOOO
I’ve worked in a gym for 20 yrs & never seen so many humble gym bros. Love it.
Just sat down with my sandwich and the video uploaded 4 minutes ago.I am one of the chosen ones
Same
I love seeing guys uplifting each other and just cheering each other on
in case no one has told you recently: you're an absolute legend, Cody
As a wise man once said:
"Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but NOBODY wants to lift no HEAVY ASS WEIGHTS"
"I've never done this before"
Goes immediately in with a hook grip.
this was the funniest gayest, also not to mention horniest dude ranking video we've had the pleasure of experiencing on here
This video geting me so fuckin fired up i think cody should’ve upload it on cody train channel
cody you were right. i’m here to tell you that strength isn’t literally just strength when it comes to lifting. a small body like me can lift like 2 times my weight only because of technique. you’re half right but no real string dude relies on only muscle. maybe work on you’re technique and WE’LL see some progress on you. ily
The fact that Angel puts the weight down so gently omg this guy
Laura Croft🔪??❌ Laura Craft🧵!!✅
I love seeing guys getting pumped and hyping each other up 🥰 wholesome indeed
The fitness community is so encouraging, I love it😊
that "space military" dude probably regrets that lift 20min later...
his back was SO CURVED omfg.... this was not right
cody pronouncing laura croft as laura “craft” is the most dad i have ever seen him
It's literally Lara as well not Laura 💀
white tshirt guy lived up to his confidence
I miss you 😭🥲
the closer ur feet are together the harder the lift so that was crazy impressive from ruben
How have I never noticed how hairy Cody’s hands are????? Dude got his wife pregnant and became a fucking werewolf. He got that dog in him
I’m sorry
When cody laughs, i laugh. When cody cries, i cry.
as a very girly girl, their energy while lifting is so wholesome and just making me smile
my favorite ranking video yet. so wholesome
Cody is more dependable to show up each week than my dad ever was
Cody’s hair should have its own channel.
who’s here at 6 views?
