Do at your own risk. I am an entertainer, not a mechanic.

Check and clean all your ground points. I also added dielectric grease to the ground plugs. You can also do a reset of each tire monitor.
Mechanic's secret: when weird shit happens electronically, check your grounds. I agree with you 100%.
Those chassis grounds points (all around the car) are extra important on vettes
Abs issue is an easy fix. Use the the diagnostic mode to pull the codes from the info center. You can also adjust the fan on/off temp so you don’t run as hot through the ecm.
How do you fix ABS?
New bolts for the battery terminals are like $5 from autozone. I dealt with a stripped bolt on my truck for months until I realized new bolts were so cheap.
C5 owner here. Check your shocks. I’ve heard that makes these bug out in the exact way. I think it has to do with mag ride or something along the lines of that. Forums all over internet about what shocks will cause. May be worth trying!
Keep fighting the good fight brother! You can work through these issues you listed, I daily an 03 Z I daily 140 miles a day. It has certainly had its gripes here and there but you will miss it if you sell it!
I had symptoms just like this on my 2004, with all these warnings - service ABS etc.. It turned out to be loose connections with the connectors in the passenger door hinge area. I took all of the connectors apart, cleaned each pin and sanded them with strips of 600 grit sandpaper, and bent the tabs in each pin down a bit to make a tighter fit. After I got it all back together, no more haywire warnings. I was very relieved to not actually have issues with the ABS and traction control etc. Apparently bad connection like this somewhere are a common cause of this. Also the ground connections, but that didn't seem to be the problem in my case. I checked tbe grounds and the problem wasn't solved until I serviced those connectors in the door. Hope that helps!
Hey man I had the same issues on my 2000 with service abs, active handling disabled, service stabilitrac and so on and my issue was in the driver door boot area between the hinges. I would open the door back up and it would reset, or squeeze the boot and it would reset. I never had tpms issues until I went with aftermarket wheels and cheaped out on the tire monitors, got 4 for like $80 through my old buddy that has a service center and did the mount/balance for me. Now I occasionally get no tire pressure on some or all of the tires but it clears up once I drive it a few miles. Haven't had the door issue in a long while but I'll follow your advice on the connectors if it pops up again so thanks!
@@SicilianC5 Hey, thanks. :) Good to know about your experience, too. I definitely will watch for that with my tire pressure sensors.
Get a new EBCM and you won't regret it. L/R DCM's are a good idea too. Put me through hell with the Column lock issues. Car has acted brand new since those improvements
Do you have to program it tho
I have a 99 FRC C5. Been dealing with things like this and just got all my sensors fixed and all preventative maitnence you can think of.
I would forsure check all your fuses first, see if any of them are fried. Possibly a new battery? Also for the oil pressure sensor, if you drill a hole the size of the socket for the OPS where the right windshield wiper is, it saves you hours of work by not having to take off the intake manifold and it’s barely noticeable. Lastly, the corvette forum has so much info also.
Hope this helps!
One item that I have noticed with my C5, is as the battery gets older it does have a tendency to do random weird items. Might be worth testing your battery if it is a bit older.
How do you fix ABS?
@@theresanoble4687depends on your year model
That front lip is the reason your temps are so high with ac on. The radiator gets its air from down there
at least your AC works, iv been driving mine for 3 years with no AC
I bought new wheels and tires for my c5 when I bought it. I didn't install the tire pressure sensors. I just get a single service tire monitoring system alarm when I start it, and that's it. I just figured one alarm is better than the car freaking out sometime with a faulty sensor or something goofy with the car, causing it to be reduced power or limited to 55 mph.
Love my C5 but I feel for you my friend. When those damn gremlins show up it’s so damn annoying 😩
Whats with the max oil pressure (need to change sensor?) and also, that front splitter blocks air and cooling is from bottom so it affects it.
Thanks! I put C7 wheels on my 04 Vette and I constantly get the aggravating warning. I re-set them but they read wrong back once I drive it. I was told the TPS on the C7 are not compatible with C5 so I will change them.
I think you can tune it out with HP tuners, I have tire light because I have 2004 corvette wheels on my 1998 corvette and I guess the sensor are different.
Oh wait till your washer fluid sensor starts going out. Then you'll start getting "Low Washer Fluid" even when you know you just filled the damn thing.
The battery connector bolts are about 5 bucks. Pop the old ones out and put new ones in. Bit of a pain to get them in. Maybe resetting the tire sensors with a magnet would help
Check for your fans coming on. My C5 was running hot and it turned out one of the fuses was blown. After I fixed that the car would actually run a bit cooler with the a/c on.
I've had the Service ABS light in my car as well. The Wheel Bearings hold a sensor that contributes to the ABS. In my case the sensor was loose which caused this to pop up, either tighten it or you need to replace the bearing.
U check the door jambs (inside wire covers)
on the pin connectors one is For AC and Ignition if I’m not mistaken
Could be a short or bad wire near that area
lmao I used to drive my 2001 stang gt around with the vent on hot in the summer when needed.
I get your frustration and it seems to me you do need to do much of what the other comments are saying ie Battery, grounds etc etc. Either go thru all and check things thoroughly or have a certified AES mechanic well versed in Corvettes and specifically your year and generation. What I did notice that you make no mention of is your Oil Pressure Gauge is pegged at 80. Have that area of oil pressure sending unit etc checked out as well. These cars are wonderful and, as you say, proper maintenance and PREVENTIVE maintenance goes a long way in keeping frustration to a minimum. I have had minor irritations but nothing that can't be taken care of with some patience, pride and perseverance. In the end you will be quite happy. BTW, my C5 is my 5th Corvette that I have owned since 1971 and have invested time and money in all 5. Including $4300 in the past month on my C5. Good luck and Happy motoring.
Man you are hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Hey Jake, I turned off the TPMS on my 2001 Corvette using my Snap-on Solus Edge scanner. I had to use 2004 Corvette as my model year because the turn-off option did not come up for previous years. Hope this helps.
Clean ALL your ground contacts dude, and my God have mercy on your soul
You can disable TPMS with a GM Tech2. Did it to my 03 recently.
wish the ABS and traction control modals were still being made, tired of seeing them all the time, like you iv been clearing them every time i get into the car to go anywhere
change the battery and clean the ground right under it and if needed change the fuse had this problem aswell
Man so many lights on at 126k I hope ours don't do that lol
Look into changing the EBCM module I would like to see you change so I can watch and change mine your seems to be changed because you have the the same icons on and what’s being displayed across your dashboard the abs and traction control
I think when you go to C6 wheels you have to run diff size tires to compensate for the height diff to get it closer to spec cant be the same size computer somehow checks rotation comparison of both front and rear.
Tpms sensors sound like they are going out.... a bad tpms sensor can cause a mess of problems
Check wheel bearing hubs, for traction control, if you notice it failing, or is it just showing the messages, while driving fine?. Either way the front splitter looks like it's the wrong one or installed wrong , but it's definitely a OTC moment for me
Do you park near your stock wheels? My stock wheels are in the garage near my car and one of the tires is low on those (No sensors in my new wheels), and my car picks up that one of those is low from them being in the vicinity.
You need to fix or replace your EBCM. It is way cheaper if you have it fixed. It is a classic problem with these cars.
Had the same issue with my 03 z06. TC & ABS would show up and go away until it became permanent. I was going to send it to the place in Springfield MO to have it rebuilt when I found Corky Cars' video "C5 Corvette EBCM traction control fix under $15.00" and was able to fix it myself. I can tell you the hardest part was removing and reinstalling the EBCM which you're doing if you send it off as well. The rest can be done in air-conditioning (or heat, it was cold AF when I fixed mine). I had to stack like 5 extensions to get the socket wrench over to the clear area on the passenger side (so I could turn it at all) to remove 1 or 2 of the torx screws, but I did it without taking anything else off. You'll need a bit holder to put them all back on or you'll be crawling around your engine bay looking for all of them after you drop them. It's a two day job but only because you have to let the silicone sealant set after putting the EBCM back together.
Yo man.....your coolemt temp should not go up any more than normal do to the ac.....you need to have the fan turn on set mich lower such as 1st fan at 190 and 2nd fan at 200 or less....that front spoiler can be an issue too.....I would also excersise the abs....you can do this by aggressive driving or lift the rear wheels off the ground and put in gar over 15 to 20 mph.....leave traction control on too.....good luck.....I like your vids...your a funny dude
2:29 😂
my car was sitting and now has a CHARGE SYSTEM FAULT code i can’t get rid of. anyone know a remedy. new alternator seems to not be charging new battery. all wires have continuity and all ground are clean and connected
ABSfixer can take care of your EBCM module for not much money. Removing the module can be the hard part.
I’ve used him as he is my area of Nixa Mo. Brandon Hite does an awesome job. Your EBCM needs resoldered.
It will come back on,,😁
Spend the money and get a red Top optimum @ 1000 cranking amps it will be your cure that set up you got is hooptie
I own a c5 as well, that zr1 front splitter directs air away from your air damn. Also that is probably an open wheel speed sensor... ask me how I know T_T.
I agree that splitter does block some of the air from getting to the factory dam underneath that directs the air up to the radiator. I ended up venting mine on the flat part between the fog light recesses and made some Z06 screens to improve the look and it turned out okay. Well, that and the tune that brings in the fans much sooner!
@@SicilianC5 Yeah I replaced it with the ebay version of the c7 carbon one and it did a little bit. I am fighting high temps partially because of my build though. These cars are just hard to keep cool once cammed and supercharged. I'm probably going to add an auxiliary oil cooler (already have dewitts radiator and spal fans) to try and help it out a bit.
Ignition switch
The tire pressure sensors are doneski, they run off a battery that wasn't designed to last 20 years, I think it was designed to last 10-15 years. Replace all 4 with new, they are about 157 a piece installed.
Nah you can get replacements for $30 a piece
@@davidr6865 maybe, but I'm not a tire tech, and would take me an hour to do each one to get the tire off and do it and get the tire back on, in fact it's near impossibility for me to remove and replace a tire from a rim. So I just paid the dealer to do it cause I don't want to fuck around.
Count yourself lucky that you HAVE an analog muscle car telling you all of those things. With a German car you only figure out what's wrong with it when you bring it in for a very bad smell or noise...
Why not just run an obd scan, figure out what’s wrong, and fix it properly?
You mentioned it parked for a month. Mouse damage maybe?
Please have patience I'm sure you will get the problem solved😊
feeeeeerrrrr.....
