    Running Diagnostics would be a good idea to identify past and present trouble codes.

    You know something? After watching the 1st part i was asking myself why you did not mention the harmonic balancer as a thing to watch out for (it's well know to fail quite easy). And here it is in the 2nd part. For any guys willing to purchase and properly maintain a C5, you're the man! Can't wait to see part 3, about the road driving. Thanks for posting. 👍

    I would also check out the hazard button. Those tend to go bad and they also affect the turn signals.
    Great info!!

      This issue is mostly in '97 - 2000 models. There is an aftermarket solution that corrects this issue.

    Blend doors as they're called not "flaps". Along with the blend door actuators and basically anything to do with the ac and heat are relatively cheap to fix when talking about automotive repairs.

    If you know how to access the diagnostic system using the buttons next to the gauge cluster, you can see if the car is throwing any codes.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Год назад +3

      Absolutely!! We will get to that in part 3. It is not uncommon for some sellers to clear codes before a potential buyer shows up. We have started the engine 2 times so far and will be doing a 3rd start for the test drive. Some codes only set after the 2nd cycle of showing an error. We hope to catch them by checking the codes after the test drive and 3 stop/start engine cycles!

    I believe the Statement, that LS Engines “Eat” Harmonic Balancers is incorrect.
    It is more likely General Mayhem used inferior design/ materials for the Balancer.
    Why else do aftermarket pieces last considerably longer?
    It is a testament to the snotty attitude GM has toward their so called “Halo”car, which for a good deal is more of a Parts-Bin/Shelf car.

    You got me with the spare tire, I was thinking no way lol. Maybe I will end up with a C5Z06. I would have preferred the MN6 vs MN12 transmission. I wish they made in 04 a base C5 with a fixed roof and the LS1.

    Another excellent C5 video. Thank you for your contribution to the Corvette community.
    I wish the C6 models has the diagnostic check as the C5s. I use a bluetooth diagnostic solution that does provide more diagnostic capabilites. But I prefer factory as the C5s offer.

    I definitely bought a lemon. I bought it in December and it needed so much work I just picked it up this past Friday June 2nd and it still needs more work! So one of the small items it needs is the heater display. I noticed right around 6:18 in this video you are talking about a heater display repair (or a link pops up on the top right). I already ordered one on Amazon and had to return it because I was told by the person who was working on the car it didn't fit so I want to make sure I order the correct one this time. Any tips? I put in the year, make and model of the car but obviously that did not work.

    Hey, love your vids and content. Just got a great c5 to keep miles off new hellcat redeye. Cat is great but kinda like the c5 more haha. Quick question, did you have to upgrade or reinforce anything when you added the blower and 250+ Not sure how much power stock c5 can safely handle. Thanks so much

    Would you recommend buying a 2003 C5 "50th" that has no Magnetic Ride Control but instead a system swapped from a Z06?

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Год назад

      I guess that would depend on the ability, quality and care of the person who did the swap.

      @@Toys4Life And it has red engine covers from a Z06! The dealership does not want to send a title to my credit union within 15 days. I found a similar one just 74 miles away (instead of over 1,000!) without HUD, side trim,12 CD, or glass roof. Same mileage but only one owner.

    Don’t waste your money on a $1500 exhaust system. I had a borla attk on my old c5 could barely even hear it. I was actually really disappointed. I did a muffler delete on my c6 and there’s little bit drone. However I can really hear the ls3 and have a conversation with someone and all for $200 at a muffler shop. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

      Exhaust is super subjective for sure, but the price is hard for me to justify personally.

    • @nikkoalpha2
      @nikkoalpha2 Год назад +2

      @@Toys4Life I agree. The factory exhaust is very efficient amd I cannot justify the cost for headers and cat back exhaust for the performamce gains which are not great. The catback systems do satisfy owners who want a louder exhaust though. Personal preferences.

    • @Ls_corvette
      @Ls_corvette Год назад +1

      @@Toys4Life I mean I was comparing my borla attak and a muffler delete c5 and honestly the muffler delete sounded exactly the same just louder and had more little pops and bangs to it. You really can’t go wrong with $200 and get more sound out of it. However sound is very much Subjective and people can use their money however they want

      I agree no need for all the stainless tubing unless you need it just a simple muffle swap or delete is fine. I like deleting muffler and keeping resonator
