I think the reason why they move Michelle to be bottom is because like you said, Michelle is a powerful soprano and that’s where her voice soars. And I think they wanted more of a balanced sound so they made Kelly do the top and then finally made Michelle do bottom so all the voices could be balanced.
Exactly. Michelle is a CHOIR soprano. Thats dif than and r&b soprano like letoya is. Michelles soprano is piercing with a heavy vibrato bc she grew up singing in choirs and a more quartet style. If she sang soprano in dc it wouldve been too heavy. Michelles low tone is rich but volume wise not as loud as her soprano. So it complemented kellys light airy soprano and beys husky alto. The fact that they had the intelligence to make that shift is def indicative of their musical knowledge. Dc are VOCALISTS.
Yess I've always said this Michelle even tho she has the smallest voice her going low will sound more of a low smooth hum very similar to Irish from the group 702 as a matter of a fact both Irish and Michelle have small voices but we're placed on the bottom of their groups again to balance sound but occasionally meelah would switch with Irish and the harmony would still pretty much sound the same as their voice was all similar
@@cjohnson_. Nope. The issue is that they did not have an experienced contralto to take Tav's role neither was there a sweet, lyric soprano that they had in Toya. Farrah was singing the middle most times during her time in the group but it is said she sung the top note on the songs she recorded with them. Farrah had potential to be a good soprano had she stayed and trained her voice. I never liked Kelly doing the top note in DC cause it was always weak to me she always sung it in falsetto. there are times when Michelle did the top, Kelly the middle and Beyonce the bottom and i feel like that could've worked out very well but great video, very informative
They most likely made Michelle bottom because it was TOO powerful. Destiny's child tended to have blended harmonies with only the middle voice really leading and everyone else supposed to be more in the background, but because Michelles high register is so powerful it was harder to blend. Her low register is whiskier and more hushed making it easier to push her back into the sound.
