This city is beautiful! I'm from Houston, and even though our skyline looks nice, i can't look at our skyline without thinking about the TRAFFIC!! Ugggg!!! Salt Lake City has a beautiful skyline and he's literally driving smoothly through a downtown with no bumper to bumper traffic! Sure, I know if he was driving on a workday, there would be lots more traffic, but even on weekends Houston is bad. I would love a city like Salt Lake city.

That early first drive up a long street toward the Capitol bldg is on State Street, US-89. That is one of the best examples of the huge street width in SLC. It's one of the reasons why it takes only 6.67 city blocks in central SLC to make a statute mile. It is a LOT of space between those blocks!

Lived in Salt Lake valley my entire life. Haven't been downtown in years. I hardly recognize this and I have never been there and seen the parking in the center of the streets. Really narrows the wide roads Salt Lake used to have. Guess it has been longer than I realize. Probably 90's early 2000's when I used to go party at a few bars downtown. Jazz games I took shuttles. Down a few times during the Olympics. I am guessing this video was done early on a Sunday morning, guarantee any other time those streets are jammed and congested.
You are so lucky to live in Salt Lake Valley, it's so beautiful there. I imagine you have seen a lot of changes going on. Yep, this was filmed early Saturday.

It reminds me of Calgary in the 1990s. There is some great classic architecture around the state capital but man is the downtown ever dead. Seems to be in the beginnings of densification. Maybe it will take couple decades like it did for Calgary to densify enough to show signs of vibrancy in the street.
Interesting. Thanks for the comment. It definitely was sleepy during the drive, but to be fair it was on an early Saturday morning in the dead of winter

Yeah SLC is beautiful. To be fair this was on a Saturday morning, but traffic was very reasonable during my entire 4 days there.

That's crazy, I had no idea
Everytime i leave the city i always miss the crisp cool dry air. Majority of people do not feel that way and i like it that way.
Great video! Just too bad this was recorded when the trees and plants are so barren. SLC is exquisite when everything is in bloom🌳🌸🌳🌺🌿
Thanks Andrew! Yeah I would love to go back and visit sometime in the summer or fall
Nice to see Salt Lake without insane amounts of smog that obscure the mountains. That's a rare sight.

12:14 no matter where you are in the USA, there will be a car with a Pennsylvania plate
Good eye. Now that you mention it, I do feel like there is always one random PA plate just about anywhere you go
I wonder why that is. Maybe people from PA travel the most? Lol.
Can you do Jackson hole Wyoming please? And the smoky mountains in Tennessee?
