And I guess "sleepy" is better than filthy, decrepit, ancient and decaying infrastructure, etc. Charlotte has more than enough things to do keep one busy though with 3 professional sports teams, a plethora of places to eat, interesting neighborhoods, amusements park, a whitewater center, above average shopping for a city its size, an outsized airport that can take you just about anywhere. Its an exceptional place to live, that is, till people stop moving here in droves from "non-sleepy" bigger cities.

I’ve seen other major cities and they make Charlotte look like crap. I’ve been looking at Miami and have my heart set on moving next year 2025. More opportunity, warm weather, no state income tax, and a melting pot of people.

I live in Charlotte and it’s great. However I would like to see a better public transportation system because traffic is absolutely atrocious during rush hour and our transit system doesn’t exactly reflect the size of city that Charlotte is. We need more rail lines to more places including the airport, more bus lines to more places, a subway in uptown to carry rail lines through the dense urban core, an underground bus hub (which is already being built in uptown which will replace the current bus hub), better bike and bus lane infrastructure (painting the bus lanes red like they do up north and having dedicated transit signals and bicycle signals at more intersections), a big intercity train station (we are getting one in uptown as the gateway station, which will carry possible commuter rail, intercity buses, Amtrak, and when the Atlanta-Charlotte high speed route is eventually built), and there needs to be a cap placed on the John Belk Freeway (basically making it a tunnel from church st to south blvd) to help improve walkability and high density affordable housing with needed accommodations and amenities.
Too car dependent. this aint DC or NYC or Philly or even Atlanta. those places are more compact and walkable all over. Charlotte is one big sprawling suburb outside of Uptown. But keep dreaming 😁

Charlotte seems to be more of a city than Atlanta...Charlotte has stores, shops, restaurants, etc...Atlanta has none and no one walking downtown.
