Decided to make a "colonial" empire build. No melee infantry, just gunpowder. The Hochland Riflemen acted as skirmishers. The Handgunners were the line infantry. The Ironsides were the grenadiers. The Pistolieers and Outriders were the dragoons. And the Free Company Militia were the... militia, the reserves. The tanks were the line breakers and the artillery remained the same. Yeah they wouldn't hold up in melee but if they were in melee then something went wrong.
That sounds so epic! I tried doing something similar but I had Free Company as my mainline and they didn’t quite work, I’ll have to try out your build thanks bro!
A lot of empire rifles have poor base stat cards compared to contemporaries. But things like war wagons and especially long rifles have crazy accuracy. Against large lads or single heros/lords they tend to kill units rather than spray damage over multiple. Use them as an almost anti large unit and they perform much better

Definitely! I’m really happy with how the Empire has been updated and the new units really let you mix things up with your armies, I always got bored with late game armies all being the same so some variety is wonderful
From what I’ve seen so far no unfortunately, either he used to have one and that image is from an earlier build, or they gave him that for the trailer specifically
@@MalleusGaming57 We got Grudge Rakers for the Thunderers, maybe we'll get Empire Blunderbusses with the Cult of Taal, assuming the abortion that is Total War 40k doesn't eat the dev team for fantasy.
I wanted to throw them in, I had limited time though between work and family being sick so I had to cut them, I'll probably cover them when I go over Elspeth and the Amethyst Units

I'll definitely be doing that! I'm already thinking of something that can be done with the new Goblin Hewer, should be a lot of fun!

One very important thing about the long rifles is that they get one pen for each shot. Meaning they will shred anything that isn't sturdy enough.

No my build had them with rifles from the start. I do kinda wish they had repeaters, but I think even in the tabletop lore they had regular rifles.

Why are your unit sizes different then the ones in Zerkovich's video?
I think I had my settings on Large Unit Size rather than Ultra when I recorded this
