  • This is part 3 of Mike’s gem mine and rough buying trip to Kenya and Tanzania. In this part, award-winning gem cutter, Michael Sackos, documents the part of the trip where they visit some of the mines in Tanzania as well as the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. If you have not yet seen it, check out part 1 & 2 and follow along with his exciting journey.
If you happen to be in the area, visit our store, Bopie’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry located in Fayetteville, NC for a sample of the Kilimanjaro coffee beans. Available while supplies last :-)

You would have to ask Roger and Ginger about that. They organize these trips.

Thanks. Yes, I would have liked to have shown you everything we all bought, but it was kind of a mad house...we had to package up all the items, separate then by the gem cutter who purchased them, bundle them up for Customs and Roger had coordinate with customs both in the country and then in the US....never really had a chance to line up our whole team and say...OK...put everything you bought onto the table. But YES, I would have loved to have shown all!

In Part 3, the professional appearance of everyone who handled gemstones was cool!
    The plants were beautiful too!
Thank you for editing the video as well! "It was a lot of fun!"
