This happened only a few hours ago, and I still can't believed it happened, here's the cast Me= obviously me SO= significant other B=my baby boo EW= entitled wife. So me and my baby were resting outside whilst my SO was taking a shower when this couple had walked up to us, the conversation went like this,
Me: um can I help you
EW=actually you can
Me: and what would that be?
EW: to give me your baby
Me: What? No! I then wrapped myself around B
EW: give me your child! dont you know how sad it is to lose your baby!?!

They been doing this for a couple of minutes now, my SO has now came out from showering

I guess you haven't seen the entire documentary on TV. The same chick's daddy never returns from feeding at sea, so the mommy penguin abandons the baby to take her turn and while the chick is shivering to death, a giant petrel swoops down and starts to eat it alive. The baby chirps and cries in pain as another petrel arrives and the two birds fight over the baby penguin carcass, ripping it into little pieces, the white snow all splattered with bright red baby penguin blood and guts.

leeoh moon no it’s their hormones. When it’s hatching season, their bodies release hormones that causes them to want to nurture. They will even try and nurture a ball of snow
It's a good thing too because the instinct wears off and if the chick cannot be reunited with it's mother then it will be completely abandoned then die
