Kings of Horror presents: The Shadow Within
A supernatural thriller about Maurice Dumont, a nine year-old who can connect with the dead. Propelled by grief over the death of Maurice's twin brother Jacques at birth, his mother Marie falls under the influence of Madame Armand, who convinces Marie to force her son to act as a medium to the next world. As Jacques asserts himself through Maurice, he comes to the realization that they both desire the same thing: their parents' love, only Jacques does not want to return to the living: he wants his parents to join him in the afterlife.

This is what I call a horror movie, but not like too many of the ones nowadays at the theater. This is one of the very few good horror movie. A classic one... I would say. Thank you!

Excellent psychological horror movie Beth Winslet should be seen more. I thought she looked familiar. She was very good in this film. The boy shone. He was excellent.

Maurice is a young boy who can connect with the dead -his twin brother, Jacques, who was killed at birth. But Jacques does not want to return to the living: he wants his parents to join him in the afterlife. It's about a young boy whose brother died while being delivered. His mother has a hard time coping and is sometimes cruel with her surviving son. The father is not in the picture. Other children in this town are dying of disease. Diseases that are eradicated today, and so the time period seemed to be in the 30's or 40's. The boy is able to conjure up his dead brother and speak to him. At first no one knows this. His teachers observe marks in him and think his mother may be physically abusing him. That's enough of the story to give you an idea of what you're getting into.

Kings of Horror PLEASE bring a lot more like these that actually have a story and don’t want so much blood, guts and gore! That stuff honestly just makes me roll my eyes but this has you using your noggen and following an actual story!
See this old duck still loves to get spooked but have kinda ‘been there, done that’ with the bloody ones.
There’s only so many ways you can slice and dice a person ‘till you just start tuning out!

I just want to say thank you for all the movies even though they're low budget is free some of them is really good
King of horror ty for all different kinds of horror/thriller movies not just the blood and gore lately I've been more into wanting these movies but more with like a story line not just with blood if that makes sense so ty so much

Yes, you make perfect sense. This one did not have to rely on the obvious so much. The lady in black was a wonder - eyes that never smiled - she was a horror all on her own. Can just see her doing Lady Macbeth; now that would be something to see. Thank you very much K. of H. Cheers.

That mother looks stubborn, a fear of losing loved ones always causes an unexplainable insecurity and it was well depicted in his mother character. Scenery and location chosen was very apt to the story line. A horror movie must not be having a while gowned lose hair ghost always. This one is a classic flick explains how dimensional can horror movie be.
The little one acted the best. He was firm and crisp. His acting made many modern horror movie actors taste lame further.
Modern movies which thought an horror movie should have some beautiful chicks, smooches and a house of evil where these younger one end up with a day out should watch this movie once.

The first time I watched this movie it was boring and drawn out. I had no patience. However, this second time around, I get the plot; a grieving mother who couldn't let go of a lost child, and took all her grief out on her living son. Wow! I believe this plot is all too real.
I like this type of movie; more psychological, no blood/gore, no sex.

An insecure and sadistic mother displaying clearly narcissistic behavioral traits finally gets owned. Maurice was "the adult in the room". What a great little actor! Nice ending!!!

but u must admit king's that most are and if u don't then your chance of being president of horror will end up like al gore
+Kings of Horror horror movies just have to have you jump of your sit and make your blood freeze lol otherwise it's not a horror movie.
Horror used to be great and the genre has been raped by movies whos principles are based on gruesome murder, need a new genre called gore or 'border snuff' or the like for the Ferals to enjoy..
Perfect example, the shit house movies like 'wrong turn' a movie that revolves soley on brutal death.. killing in the most twisted and sadistic way, tainting the horror genre with neanderthal entertainment...
P.S: ive watched all the wrong turns.. what a sad shit hole of a society we live in when one calls that trash great..
if that IS your prefered movie choice your a borderline sociopath who should seek psychiatric help...

I have just started watching it! So far I am enjoying it. I like the architecture, the fashion (being true to the time) and the scenery. It is very interesting.. I personally am not a fan of blood and gore ;)

Great thriller movie.... the evil woman was so mean to the poor little boy, she acted like an evil stepmom ..loved the the town of Lanzo Torenese.. I think that is where the movie Chocolat was filmed.....

I have a question about a movie I saw a few years ago and would to see it again, it stars a young mother who is having nightmares involuling scenes of terror she sees played out in her house. She feels she's being 'stalked by a co-worker from work in agrocery store. She hires a baby sitter but by now we are feeling something is very womg. It is one of those movies where nothing is as it seam. If you or anyone recognizes this movie, please, let me know title. Thanks!
I've watched plenty of free movies on RUclips, and this is one of the decent ones. It's slow at first, and the mother is atrocious, but it gets to be pretty cool for how old this movie is.
I enjoyed this movie very very much. The kid is great. I prefer this creepy horror format, to gore or worse those bondage torture horror films, which I hate as much as I do the "Blair Witch home camera" type films. Yes, I hated the Blair Witch Project. I hated it so much I had to leave during it, (I would have left the theater but I wasn't driving that day) went to the bathroom so I could let out a string of curses to get rid of the aggravated tension I felt. I had the desire to take a knife to the film in the projector so no one would have to suffer that film like I did. Worse, they talked about it forever in the media and I'd get angry all over again that I paid money for that crap.
The Blair Witch was a good film. This is a good film as well.
If you are going to use a white cloth or fiber to make snow...you have to be sure it lays flat as snow does not curl up on the edges
