This is BEAUTIFUL omg. First things first - song choice is an absolute 10/10. This has always been my favorite rendition of the song , so to see it plugged into the world of Utena feels apt. Then the editing...wow, wow, WOW! Super snappy, smooth , and most of all - relevant to the lyrics, which is an AMV must. Perfection. The storytelling however, is my absolute favorite part ! You shine such a different light on the Nanami story that makes us rethink some things - at the end of the day, she is just a kid. A 13 year old girl who knows nothing of the world but is forced to enter adolescence and deal with all the hurdles of adult life. She clings onto her childhood and does her best to stay in a fantasy world where she and Touga can be the picture-perfect brother and sister, just like old times. Reality just keeps on pushing her further and further away - she sees all these other brother/sister relationships and envies them, in a way. She wants to be free like Kozue, to laugh at the world like Anthy. That is, until the ugly truth of her situation is revealed - Touga hasn't been her prince for a long time , and she's now only a peon in his plots to get close to Utena/gain the power of revolution. She tries once more to get the power of revolution, not to bring back her old world view, but to prove herself to be above all who betrayed her. She fails and is forced to finally accept the reality of the world - but also gains a unique opportunity none of the other Council members get - she gets to experience one final evolution (revolution) . The last time we see her, she's disconnected from the world of the show . Her "tea" is ready - whether or not Touga or Saionji join her, she's already made up her mind . The egg has cracked, the duel called "Adoration" is over, and the calf has grown - ready to wing swiftly through the sky. ...or I'm overthinking things, hah. Amazing work, thank you 💛💛💛
