The jump is metaphorical. He "took the leap" to give up the technology, and he survived because it really won't kill you. The Warning has many songs that warn of the dangers of social media, artificial intelligence, etc. You might try their 'Disciple' music video.

    • @TFT-JF
      @TFT-JF 6 месяцев назад +13

Is there a vlog or somewhere that the girls actually say that it's metaphorical? I've heard it called a "leap of faith" in a lot of comments, but it seemed to me that he did commit suicide and that his getting up was like a play when the "dead" actors get up to take a bow. In this case, not a bow but a warning. By the way, I love all your contributions, TimberWolf762. That's why I'm specifically asking you.

@@TFT-JF I appreciate that! I can't name a vlog off the top of my head but it seems to be pretty embedded. I might have the time to take a look at some of the old vlogs over the next few days. In my opinion, he does commit suicide. After being cut off from his digital "world" and seeing the beauty of the real world, he just can't handle it and steps off the building. But, as in The Matrix, "everybody falls the first time" and he gets up again to embrace the real world. I guess the ironic thing is that apparently, he is still in The Matrix, because he would have died in the real world.

I mean - I mentioned it because I had just reacted to it on my channel. I don't think copying is necessarily the case because it's a common theme that people talk about. I would argue that both were inspired by The Matrix, which in turn was inspired by 70s-80s scifi across genres. They both executed the videos very creatively, Noise is very different in a lot of ways, only thematically similar.

They are three sisters, if you didn’t know who have been playing together all their life. They are extremely talented and smart and are breathing life back into the world of rock. Their lyrics are very often skeptical of the modern world and it’s pitfalls. The lyrics are always meaningful and their songwriting is brilliant. They just released a new theatrical style video which involves acting out a storyline and it’s completely brilliant. It’s much more of a romp and part Godfather and part Pulp Fiction. The swan dive off the roof was a metaphor for taking a leap of faith. They was so young, yet so wise back then, and have only gained in this aspect since. While this one was serious, they just released one for fun, and a satirical view on Spanish soap operas, mixed with many iconic movies story lines with Easter eggs galore. It was the drummer Paulina's directorial debut. I would love to see how many movie/TV references you can spot in it. Que Mas Quires and it's just a few days old now. Great reaction. He took the leap of faith that he could survive the fall from conformity. These kids are geniuses. They were 17, 15, and 12 in this video. This is the title track from *XXI Century Blood,* their first album released in 2017. Their next album is a rock novel (concept album) called *Queen of the Murder Scene.* Both these albums were crowd funded with Kickstarter/Go Fund Me campaigns. They signed with Lava Records in 2020. *Error* is their first album on Lava, and *Keep Me Fed* comes out June 28. The single *Que Mas Quieres has an official music video in Spanish that looks like a Mexican telenovela, complete with melodramatic acting, self-satire, murder, mayhem, gaslighting, girl bossing, a bit of a whodunit plot, and a mystery to be solved. *Disciple,* is another music video that you should see. It's in English and has a theme related to that of *21st Century Blood.* These ladies are now 19, 22, and 24, and just finished a sold out tour of medium size venues in Europe and the UK. They are headed to Japan for three dates with Band Maid, and will play some festivals in the USA and a nine date run with Evanescence and Halestorm in Canada. They sold out a 10,000 seat arena in Mexico City in one hour, for a concert next February! They added another performance there, just to accommodate demand. Drummer Paulina is the Drumeo 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year. She also took the Readers' Poll "Up and Coming" Rock Drummer 2023 award from Modern Drummer Magazine.

    Hi Manon, are you Dutch?
Great reaction to this amazing project, it was conceived before when it was released by probably a year or more. When it was launched they were 12, 15 and 17; but they started as a band when they were 9, 12 and 14 when their cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman went viral (now 25+ million views). That was when I started following them, it’s been a joy watching their evolution from a talented kids band to a world class Rock band.
For follow ups there’s Qué más quieres, Disciple (Studio version), Martirio (official video), Automatic Sun (Studio version overdubbed on a live performance). There are more but that’s plenty to start with!
Edit: Yes Nightwish may have taken an influence from this, there are uncanny similarities between their videos. I have also followed Nightwish for a long time, from the Tarja era but dropped out when Annette joined them, I wasn’t convinced by why she joined them. But when Floor joined them (I knew of her from her very early days) I started following them again.

Even their latest video (Paulina’s screenwriter/directorial debut) which might seem like just a fun romp overlays a song of manipulation & toxicity. That one is ‘Que Mas Quieres’. ‘S!CK’ is also a must-analyze (there is a BTS for most all of their videos as well) with tons of effects. ‘Disciple’ is another with fantastic symbolism & cinematography. & of course ‘Martirio’ is every bit as beautiful as the song & you will love the composition. Also ‘Choke’ & it’s underwater scenes & all that goes into making that happen.

Enjoyed your analysis. Welcome to the warning ⚡️. Very young here. Currently 24,22 and 19. Others have told you to analyze their newest video directed by the Drummer. All their music videos are professionally produced and most are very artistic. You’ll love taking any of them apart. Musically they are a force in rock music and are really blowing up this year. Their live videos are fun for the energy they bring to performances ⚡️You have been Warned

Okay, this is their first music video, written when they were 16, 14, and 11, although I believe each of them were a year older in the music video. You should check out their latest: Que Mas Quieres. Pau, the drummer, came up with the concept, wrote the screenplay, was co-director, and appears in the video playing a role (or two). Both Dany and Ale also act in the music video and participate in a Wedding Band that appears in the video. It is a fun video that has some noir elements as well as spoofing on Latin Tele-novellas with the over-acting and strategic, if blantant, product placement. They also put a lot of easter eggs in the video for The Warning Army members to discover. There is nothing boring about their videos.

Hey Manon! The Warning are three incredibly talented, lovely, intelligent sisters from Monterrey, MX. The video was shot in an office building under construction in Monterrey. The imagery and lyrics of the song and video are genius. And the sisters were only 17, 15 and 12 when the song was released (so younger when they wrote it.). A couple more of their videos that are excellent for you to break down would be, "Disciple", about how social media companies divide people and put them into information "bubbles". And one of their latest videos and only their 3rd song in Spanish, "Que Mas Quieres", which is co-directed by Paulina, the drummer, and is shot in the style of a Mexican telenovela, and has some very tongue in cheek humor! Both are excellent songs and great music videos!

i always wonder how many others notice the number on the indoctrination pod the baby is placed into... many of us think it may be a shout out to YES and their 1983 album _"90125"_ which was released two years after Yes broke up... you can find a few links to that album in its entirety... not really a music video as it is only the music but you can also find OMVs for some of the songs on that album... the OMV for the first song on that YES album also has a similar theme as this video with "culprits" and "recovery agents"... the video and whole album is a great trip back in time...
so back to this original video by DPA/TW... yes, the imagery is awesome and extremely thought provoking... there's a lot being said in there... one of the main things is about taking a leap of faith and leaving things behind... this is absolutely a track about social media, technology, and how they affect people in ways they don't know or understand... in this case, everyone is so wrapped up in their devices and social media that they cannot see what is going on around them... thus the blindfolds... notice, too, the colors used... when someone takes their blindfold off, the world lights up in the prettier colors of reality...
the video was nominated for and won numerous awards back in 2017...
    - LA CINEFEST Semifinalist 2017
    - Feel The Reel IFF, Audience Award October 2017
    - Official Selection Austin Music Video Festival 2017

Nice to see a reaction to this from another angle. It is probably the only song from them where I recommended the omv over a good live but I do look forward to having more of their music videos analysed and for now the omv for 'Que Mas Quieres' is still my favorite version. As others have mentioned this was their first music video, produced when they were teenagers, but what makes it even more impressive is that they were still an independant band and they realised this through crowdfunding. Their succes is well deserved and a combination of talent, hard work and making smart decisions!

But their are also beautiful young woman (here in 2017 almost teenagers), creative, charismatic (if you continue to follow their grown) and now also pretty talented in screenplay and direction (the Official Video of Que mas Quieres) it's, in my opinion a little jewel!

I subscribed, as I greatly enjoyed your analysis for this awesome music video. I am 65 years young and The Warning has become my all time favorite rock band. They write lyrics, often warning the world of the problems they see in today's world. They deliver their messages with creative music which has an infectious sound. I am a proud patreon for The Warning and also for Angelina Jordan, a self taught jazz singer who can sing seemingly anything. Angelina has a great music video for her song "Million Miles" which she wrote in the days after her maternal grandfather passed away in 2019 when Angelina was 13 years old. "Million Miles" was the first song to make me weep, but I had lost 5 loved ones in 3+ years and Angelina's soulful voice had been wearing down my emotional barrier since I learned of her, 8 months prior to the release of the song. Angelina's maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani, was a prodigy for painting and poetry while growing up in Iran. Mery has been heavily involved in all of Angelina's music videos.

She also wrote the screen play and acted in it. She co-directed with Ivan. Pau is the drummer for The Warning. If you do not speak Spanish Qué Más Quieres means What More Do You Want? There are a lot of easter eggs in that video for The Warning Army (what fans of The Warning call themselves).

I believe this was the first video by The Warning as you may have noticed they was quite young here and this was their first album. It’s now about seven years or so later and they are no longer all teens (I think has player is still a teen) and their latest video is in Spanish but very well done and looks like one of the Soap Operas you’d see in Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish other that a few words here and there but song is great and the video very well done. It’s called Que Mas Queres which believe translates to something like what more do you want?.

This was shot in their hometown Monterrey, Mexico. They recently released their latest video for their Spanish song Qué Más Quieres, which is a fun telenovela like mini crime movie, including the product placing often seen in telenovelas. (They did a commercial for this particular product last year 😉). That video was conceived, co-written and co-directed by the drummer Pau (Paulina) whose creative mind seems limitless. Watching it once will not be enough to catch all the details.

The Warning does an amazing job of producing highly creative videos that challenge your mind as well as entertain you. The Warning's music is like that too. It entertains you, but if you dive into the lyrics, they will challenge your mind and beliefs too.

The Warning is the greatest thing going in rock music today!!! Three sisters from Mexico. Got their start playing the video game Rock Band when they were like 15, 12, and 9 years old. From that they moved on to real instruments and made a cover video of Metallica "Enter Sandman" that when viral and they haven't looked back. Four studio albums, a couple world tours, and their own original music is now in the latest rendition of Rock Band. And the youngest, Ale (bass), I think is still only a teenager (19)!!! A great next analysis from The Warning would be "Que Mas Quires". Directorial debut of Pau (drummer)!!

I haven't seen mentioned in the comments so far what I believe to be their most "cinematic" video for their Spanish song Martirio. It was shot in the Icamole Desert north of their Monterrey, Mexico hometown on a very hot and windy day. While I would normally recommend going to their RUclips channel to find the video, it doesn't have subtitles so I'm going to leave a link to an edited version that another reaction channel, samechick, did which added the subtitles and posted the edited video for others to view and possibly use for reactions. Feel free to use it or if you prefer, use the official one from their page. I'm leaving the link in a reply comment in case YT deletes the link.

For other professionally shot videos, you might want to watch "Martirio", "Automatic Sun", their cover (with Alessia Cara) of Metallica's "Enter Sandman", and "Que Mas Quieres ". The first (lyrics in Spanish) was filmed not far their home in Monterrey, Mexico. The official "Automatic Sun" is a video taken at a concert in Monterrey with studio sound. "Enter Sandman" was film was shot in an abandoned mill in Monterrey, during the pandemic. Alessia Cara was in Canada, but the way they included her was brilliant. "Que Mas Quieres" is filmed in the style of a Mexican telenovela, also in Spanish.
That said, their best videos are their straight out live performances.

They have them for their songs Enter Sandman, Martirio, Disciple, S!CK, Choke, Evolve, Hell You Call A Dream, Automatic Sun and very recently Que Mas Quieres directed by the drummer herself. All of these can be found on their RUclips channel. Several of them done on a shoestring budget using creative way of working around the limitations. Make sure to check the description under the videos, as they usually put some technical information and for some videos they also have a behind the scenes video.

Go down this rabbit because you will not be disappointed. I am very glad you started this journey with their debut song, because a lot of folks who react don't start at the beginning when discovering the band.
Daniela "Dany" "Dona" the eldest sister (24) (guitar/lead vocals/lover of donuts/commander of the stage/), Paulina the middle sister (22) ("Pau" "Animal" drums/backing/lead vocals/pianist/holder of the scream of doom/head songwriting composer/newly anointed co-director/all around super genius), and Alejandra "Ale" the youngest sister (19) (the beast on the bass guitar/backing vocals/pianist). Tee Villarreal sisters proudly hail from Monterrey Mexico formed the band officially in 2013. Their parents gifted them the video game Rock Band and was the catalyst for each of their choosing their instruments (though Ale was too young at the time when they received the game, but loved watching her older sisters play it. She chose bass because she loved how it sounded). They all grew up learning piano and learning music as a whole, (Dany loved playing the saxophone and was really good at it). Pau mostly writes the songs on piano and then girls work out the instrumentation as a band.
The title track XXI Century Blood (killer album) was their debut self produced record and was released independently (Ale was only 9 at the time). Their follow up Queen of the Murder Scene (a full on concept album and a banger of a record) was also self produced and released independently. Their third album Error (another stellar record) was their first signed release through Lava Records (a division of Universal). The girls latest album Keep Me Fed drops June 28th 2024. They have released 5 singles: MORE, S!CK, Hell You Call A Dream, Que Mas Quieres, and Automatic Sun for the new album.
Fun fact 1: Muse is their biggest influence and rock idols. They were invited last year to open for them in Monterrey, and on their European tour).
Fun fact 2: Halestorm is another major influence and it was the best moment when Lzzy Hale gifted Dany a Gibson Explorer (Dany broke into tears after realizing she wasn't borrowing Lzzy's guitar, but that one was made just for her). Dany plays the Explorer live when their do their version of Enter Sandman (the song that is featured with Alessia Cara on The Black List Album Metallica released.)
Fun fact 3: Dany was recently gifted a yellow mustard Monson guitar from Matt Bellamy of Muse.
Matt: "Hey Dany what color do you like?
    Dany: Yellow
    Matt: What shade of yellow?
    Dany: Um mustard
    Matt: Okay
From what Dany says it was that random.
Fun fact 4: It was Kirk Hammett himself that saw The Warning playing Enter Sandman from their "Cave" and loved it a lot. So when they were asked to be on The Black List Album, The Warning jumped at the chance, and made in my view a version of Enter Sandman that is equal to the original.

The "jumping from the roof" is more a metaphor for a "leap of faith", ie for anyone as deeply inculcated as they are, pulling the blindfolds would be comparably scary to jumping from a roof. But "do it anyway!" is Paulina's (drummer, genius lead of songwriter trio) recommendation. Definitely her idea, (14? yrs old at filming!).

I would be really fascinated to see your analysis of Hell You call a Dream and Automatic Sun in the same reaction. Their regular video crew was increased with a graduate from film school which took good live videos to another level.
HYACD was made with shooting over 3 nights and plenty of editing time. Automatic Sun was shot then edited and released in a six-day window to be out before the actual eclipse. A lot of choices had to be made including using studio audio. I would be very interested on the decisions made because of the time crunch.

Like Nightwish, The Warning are (almost always) best live...but both bands have some OMVs worth reacting to here. I'm going with the crowd and suggesting their latest, Que más Quieres (in fact that's their only other one perfect for analysing here). The only Spanish you really need to follow is the chorus line, "tell me, what more do you want?" - for reasons you'll probably spot when you see it.

  • @jameschisholm7131
    @jameschisholm7131 6 месяцев назад +4

I see people are recommending you do an analysis/reaction to The Warning's OMV for Que Mas Quieres. It's important to mention that that is a completely different style from this video. It is a parody video filled with vintage movie and television references (everything fromTeleNovellas to 70's B movies to 2000's commercial icons to Terantino), as well as many many inside easter eggs for long time TW fans and supporters. I think it's great fun.
