    The video shows an excerpt from the online training NX CAD SECRETS.
    Video Content:
    In this Siemens NX CAD tutorial, you will learn how to use selection rules in a very efficient and consistent manner. The modeling technique is based on a single method, called horizontal modeling. Always relate your objects to the possibly oldest objects while creating an association. That's it. That's the rule you have to follow.
    By the way - we are teaching the most efficient usage of Siemens NX within our Blended Learning programs and also offer a specific training which gives you the ability to increase the comfort as well as the stability of and during your designs.
    Beside the horizontal modeling methods, the feature pattern allows to increase flexibility of your design further on, as you can create general patterns related to face normals. By use of point sets, as well as composite curves, the patterned objects can be as independent as possible from related geometry and easily pasted into further components without the need of modifications or even failures appearing.
    By the way - we offer a Siemens NX online training concerning modeling methods. Just get in contact (;

    Why using a datum plane to set the extrusion boundary? In case you want to replace it by another face for example? Because if its just for the extrusion-lenght I don't see the advantage over just stating the 30mm in the extrude itself. It makes no difference, where you change that number, still have to do it one time!?

      Hi, the plane is referenced 3 times. So it can make sense to use the plane😉

      @@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training missed the last two times (had to rewatch). I definetly see the difference to referencing the top of the extrude als plane
