This video (footage from Siemens NX 1980 continuous release) lifts the secret about how to create an intersection point between a Datum Plane and a Datum Axis. This construction is not possible with the typical Intersection Point Feature. But the Point Set Feature offers a possible solution. Point Set is an underrated Feature, especially because it's not available by default. I have used this option a lot and also some of my customers were happy about the "Secret" already. Beside the Feature explanation, some explanations about model stability are given as well, of course (-:

Speaking of impossible things to make in NX that a $300 software can(pretty embarrassing actually)....... can you please make another video of how to simply make a simple line in 3D space? I have no earthly idea why is this such a complicated thing to do in NX
The NX CAD secrets are targeting experienced NX users. What's your experience? Let me know and I can share a suitable Playlist. It's not impossible to create an intersection point as you did see.

@@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training Thanks for your response. I saw the intersection point....but was just referring to something completely different. How to make a line (not a spline ) in 3D space. Apparently this is a lot more convoluted and complicated than it needs to be, and still not clear how to do it.
@@nickpunch9661 I have created lines in a few of my videos already. The creation of lines without a sketch can't be more intuitive in my opinion. It'll be vertically or horizontally aligned also without referencing a plane. If there is a start and endpoint available already, you just need to perform two clicks. If not, it depends on your goal. Therefore, some options are available, which I have picked the normal option from. Anyway, to show all the capabilities, a longer video duration was expected. But line creation was not the topic at all.
This is a perfect example how anti-intuitive and weird Siemens NX is :-)
Hm... This is a perfect example how deep you have to search in order to find something that needs improvement in Siemens NX😅 come on dude... I think at least it depends on your design goal. NX is more then just a cad software. I wouldn't recommend it for every design usecase. And I have also realized that if the knowledge is depending on a bad training or just tutorials, no refresh trainings etc. It will be hard to judge and discuss. What's your nx or cad background?

IMHO this is a question of what you expect from a software (or whatever kind of thing). Since I am not considering my brain as a junkyard for useless detail knowledge I am expecting stuff to be intuitively understandable with no need to learn 'secrets' by heart.
If you are using the very same software every single day this will not be a major problem, but (e. g.) if you need to switch ...
Aem. I totally agree! On this channel everything I show is based on a simple technique, called horizontal modeling. You don't have to increase model stability in such a way. In that case, NX can be replaced by a large number of cad systems. But in terms of following this certain modeling technique, there is no system, which offers such kind of relationships between features and geometry. Unfortunately a lot more than 50 percent of its users are using nx the way, they'd use any other cad software. And at least it feels not intuitive, bacause the real potentials of NX are still a secret. It takes some effort and understanding and I agree, it makes more sense for power users to use its potentials. Did you watch my videos about horizontal modeling? I'm still interested in your cad background?
Yes I have seen that horizontal modeling tutorials. I do know that this is the basic principle in order not to mess stuff up :-)
I also do know what amount of **** people are producing by not obeying this principle ...
As soon as the damage is done boss is asking for me to repair it :-)
