Change is always resisted in the beginning, you highlighted every small negative and ignored all the positives. I have been a wing rider since 02 and was about to move to a BMW until I rode the new wing, many of these changes are long overdue I applaud Honda for finally making the change. I have a new wing on order Loyal wing rider
I live in a country where its more often cool than hot. I like my leg warmer vents. I like the glove boxes on in the fairing. I like the big fairing and window. I like the big seat for my wife and the big storage. I don't like that they made the tank smaller. Range was one thing I would have liked to see improved. I wish they updated the transmission on the old one with the 6 speed or even better, the dct. Add a power window, and the upgraded electronics and it would have been better. The new Goldwing has placed itself in the st1300 and fjr league. It has different competition now. Its trying to be a sport tourer.
Hey Chris, I test rode the 2018 Goldwing and to me it was a lot like riding the BMW K1600GTL with a little less power. It was pretty agile, easy to handle and lots of technology, but if I were to go back to the touring style bikes, I think I would do the BMW again.
Quick question to the subscribers. If Honda came out with a New Grand tourer meaning the Big body Wing. Would it be more attractive to you? Would you jump on it in a heartbeat?
IMHO-Shortly Honda will be receiving and interpreting mass market feedback from their dealership networks. I can see the new GoldWing going through a bit more enhancement in 2019. For me, I’m going to wait for the next go round. If Honda doesn’t address the Highway Peg and Wind Screen issue, I think a quality after-market company will engineer them. Honda isn’t perfect, but close.
Real nice ride and good food as well. It was nice meeting everyone and looking forward to our next ride
