I can not agree about Reckoner it may be my favorite Radiohead song (it changes all the time like any of the all-time great bands) it is such a transcendental song in the right mood it takes me away.
I can’t believe how overlooked “hail to the thief” is, I would argue that album is much more “kid A and Ok computer combined”, In rainbows really isn’t all that digital.
Videotape is probably not my favorite song but is also probably on my top 5, best song of the album The lyrics are the best Thom Yorke have ever written, beautiful and so much depressing. I mean, this is the most depressing song by Radiohead, forget about Motion Picture Soundtrack, Let Down or True Love Waits, this is their saddest song.
I had no idea you also cried on Nude. I was walking home and I had my air pods in, and I just cried at the final part of the song. I’m glad I’m not the only one.
I really enjoyed your video and I do agree with most of your comments. But, I think you've missplaced All I need. I think that this song belongs right to the top of the album, next to the other "10/10" songs you've mentioned, mainly because of it's climax and the way it ends. That final part is so strong yet so emotional. It feels like a loud, emotional scream made by someone collapsing under their one-sided feelings
In rainbows is the best album because I keep on coming back to it. Especially when I hear people say something like "I've no idea what I am talking about"
"its not just a song...its a moment" is probably the best and most accurate way to describe nude. nude is probably one of my favorite songs of all time and tbh i cried listening to it for the first time. especially on the second verse when you are blasted with the c#m chord in the synth. imo, ok computer and kid a will always hold spots 1 and 2 on my favorites list, but in rainbows deserves #3
I agree to an extent with the belief that In Rainbows is their best album. While I do certainly see the point of view and thought process, it lacks the same emotion as Kid A or OK Computer. OK Computer has a feeling of isolation and loneliness that is impossible to recreate. And Kid A has a similar feeling of just pure loneliness and isolation, however In Rainbows doesn’t have that feeling. What it does express is pure emotion. I think the better title for this album would be: “Radiohead’s most artistic album”.
Pretty sure 15 step has multiple meanings simultaneously, but I think the narrator of the song is 15 steps away from the edge of the building, ie the sheer drop, and are contemplating suicide. Giving themself a talk about how they can never make progress, never pull themselves out of the dark place they are in. Which makes it extremely ironic that it was rated the happiest Radiohead song.
i always thought the staggered drums on 'videotape' was meant to sound like a 'death rattle'. the way people breath when they take their last few breaths.
Totally agree that this is their best album! Strangely 15 step is my favorite on it. Jigsaws falling into place is also one of my least favorites 😬. Great video!
@@edi4360 it does have Everything In It's Right Place, The National Anthem, How To Dissapear Completely, Optimistic, Idioteque and Motion Picture Soundtrack
Kid A is a masterpiece and it’s a 10/10. In Rainbows is 11/10. I love every song on in rainbows even the ones that I don’t like as much as the others. Kid A has like one song I don’t really love but they’re still both really amazing albums. It’s just one affected me a little more.
I agree. 1. In Rainbows 2. Kid A 3. OK Computer 4. A Moon Shaped Pool 5. Hail to the Thief 6. The Bends 7. Amnesiac 8. Pablo Honey 9. The King of Limbs
It’s up there but OK Computer is in a class of its own, they would not have dared to attempt the likes of ‘Kid A’ on the back of any other album but this masterpiece!
Jigsaw is great but i find Bodysnatchers quite boring and the falls flat in the middle with All I Need and Faust are filler. Sorry just one opinion. Ok overall though about a 7.
Rainbows is by far my least favourite RH album and I don’t know if I’ll ever understand why anyone even likes it, let alone feels like it’s their best work. It’s repetitive, bland, and it sounds like RH making a record merely to fulfil contractual obligations (even though this was their first release after their Parlaphone contract ended). To even ask whether In Rainbows is as good as OK Computer seems like a ridiculous question to me.

Goddamn right it is. 15 Step, House of Cards, Weird Fishes, everything. An utter masterpiece.
Mhm

Thats a good point tbf
Hail to the thief is my 4th favorite Radiohead album for sure
Listening to this album on vinyl front-to-back on acid was an amazing experience. It would have been amazing even without the acid.
That sounds incredible
honestly house of cards is probably my favourite song on the album, idk why, it just hits me in a way i can't describe. top 3 radiohead songs for me
Oh sheesh, well i dont agree but im glad you like it!
yo yo its the real Thom York again, ask me anything. great video as always runaway, please do a video on the king of limbs.
I think it’s Radiohead’s second best album behind OK Computer. BTW, Videotape is my favorite Radiohead song.
Ayee nice, OKC is top 2 radiohead for me

Lol im sure theres plenty of us out there
Nude and Reckoner both make me want to cry and I am not sure why.
Honestly I prefer Relapse. I really think they found their sound on that album.

I can see your point
Bodysnatchers is probably my favorite from this album but theyre all great
Nice!
reckoner and nude are such a great duo
Also with 15 step, most hangman galleys had 15 steps, so 15 steps then a sheer drop means, y'know, phwoosh SNAP
NOW *AMSP* PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU
Possibly
All i need is so underrated! Great video tho
Thank you!
My fav track on it!

As an album, the others hit harder. But Videotape is their saddest song.
It's called 15 Step because that's how many steps there are leading up to a gallows
idk if its unpopular or not but all i need is the best song off the album
Definitely onpopular lol, cool tho!
def underrated IMO 🎸🤘🏻
best album of all time imo
Fair tbh
Quite frankly, my favorite of the trinity switches depending on the last one I listened to
i like jigsaws falling into place.Its good🙂😄😃👂🏾
🙂😄😃👂🏾
Agreed! I think In Rainbows is Radiohead's crowning achievement & that's in a discography containing Kid A & OK Computer which is saying something.

Yup lol
I read somewhere that a gallows has 15 steps before the sheer drop.
Great video!!
Thank you!

Kid A doesn’t have naked, weird fishes, reckoner, jigsaw, videotape, 15 steps.
IN RAINBOWS BETTER

To me it has some of Yorke's best vocals along with having some of their most spatious and beautiful instrumentals.
there nothing bland and repetitive about in rainbows but its not the best album of radiohead
False.
