Am I the only one wondering about them placing the chopsticks up like that? Isn't that a huge cultural no-no? I've heard it repeatedly that chopsticks should never be stood up that way since it's reminiscent of incense sticks.

In Japan, China and Korea, chopsticks are an ingrained part of burial and death rituals as well as the main eating utensil. Chopsticks are used for food offerings either at a burial or Buddhist shrine in memory of the deceased. In this ceremony, chopsticks are placed upright in a bowl of rice.
Thank you google. That's why when I see people sticking up chopsticks like that I am baffled and wanted to educate them as someone who has a Chinese blood and an Asian. But you know people these days so yeah. I'd rather not 😑
I do love these shows. I think this one is many years old and cut down time wise from the original video. The narrator was perfect for these shows. One thing I have noticed about watching these videos on this channel, Discovery UK & others if you go to a video that has been out for 3+ years it is full of - obnoxious people making really silly comments. Hating this or that about the video. Thank you for these shows. PJ

Greeks never claimed ownership of baklava or other food and pastry that's clearly middle-eastern, but exists now in their cousines. on the contrary, ppl praise those recipes for how good and tasty they are and give props to the countries they originate. but it seems you're a little butthurt for some reason.

Who wrote the script? I paused the video after hearing "Baklava is a desert from Greece" and also Galata Boregi is obviously a pastry originated in Istanbul, Galata. How does this channel expect its viewers to continue watching a content that is not true? Very disappointing.

Ya know… it’s shi like this that makes me understand why people hate Americans so much. It’s fine to showcase other cultures food but dammmnnn at least show factual information. That’s not kimchi, those desserts aren’t Greek. Idk what else is wrong because I don’t know all the cultures but imma assume that it’s all just wildly inaccurate 😅
