- After falling victim to the wrath of online trolls, VICE’s Taji Ameen decided it would be in his best interest to take a self defense lesson from a Grand Master of the Martial Arts.
Taji took to Yelp in search of the worst rated MMA instructors in New York and came across Grand Master Gerry, founder and owner of Winner’s Club MMA.

@@HaplessOne In regards to martial arts, giving someone confidence without skills is akin to handing them a gun with no bullets and telling them they'll be safe when the time comes.
When I first began the "One Star Review" series, I had some concerns about the quality of the content, and the journalists punchable turtle-face. However upon watching every episode over the course of a beautiful three days, I have come to appreciate its subtle humor, interspersed with deliberately hokey 80s screen wipes and vhs era animations. Taji is nothing short of a genius, balancing honest journalism with side-splitting winks and nods to the viewers while also providing entertaining and informative videos. He is the most endearing, non-punchable man I have ever seen. Nowhere have I witnessed such heartfelt and likeable performances. And although we have never met, I feel like Taji is a close lifelong friend. I will be recommending this series to every person I value and respect, and who will accept my opinion as valid. And that's multiple people.

No he didn't, I went back to check and you can clearly see the stitching around the letters. He may have stitched that on himself but it's not tape, right before it turns to red "UFC" text you get a clear shot of the lettering.

worst ever acupuncture I ever had, the acupuncturist was the nicest lady but she had no touch and I think she was new. Every needle she put in it was like being struck on the funny bone. With master acupuncturists, I never even feel them put the needle in, and I usually fall sound asleep within a minute and don't wake up until the session is over (its like being under anesthesia).
Going back a rewatching all this series and its still great. I hope all is well Taji. You were great in these.

Yea it’s harder than it sounds to find a place with a bunch of 1 star reviews only since those places never last haha. I just went test my own city and searched fast food restaurants and still found t find any that were lower than a 2-3 average even the worst ones
Sometimes they hide, “irrelevant” reviews and don’t count them.

Although I can say his martial arts in terms of fighting techniques and such are poor he does have a lot of life advice that should not be taken for granted. For example when he talks about “the way you walk, the way you talk. People are gonna notice” this among many of the other things he say are completely true.

@@nieammatin497 I disagree, I have worked and met people at their lowest and they can give great advice even though they dont follow it themselves. People who have made bad choices in live know what not to do and can therefore give advice. As for it not sticking with you all I can say is certain speakers, conversations, words, peoplez etc. Can have no effect on you but huge effect on others and the other way around. You can often find this in comment sections of such motivational videos that you mention where people will argue the effect of the speech. This proves that speeches can work differently for different people.
This is great and all but let’s not forget, he is running an MMA business and clearly knows nothing about it. I find the guy amicable and his vague life advice is decent but that’s not what anyone is paying for. First fight you have after training here you’re going to get absolutely SMESHED.
