This video was supposed to drop Sunday morning but it turns out "PM" and "AM" are just a little too close in appearance for my own comprehension. Thanks for watching, I know my upload schedule is at roughly the same frequency as Italy's victories in WW2, I apologize for that. Anyway, enjoy the show!
the fritz X isnt a glide bomb. glide bombs glide like planes and the luftwaffe had one that was far older than the fritz x. the thing that made thr fritz x special is the fact that it was the first guided freefall bomb.
You could do a video on the British HMS Hood or Greman KMS Bismarck but then again is there really any point as those 2 famous ships have been covered so much that what is there really left that people don't know about them
I always personally found the older "Giulio Cesare" most fascinating, she started life as a rather odd looking battleship in 1914, was then radically rebuilt in 1937 to a rather sleek looking ship (though sadly loosing a turret in the process), and then...captured by the Soviets in 1948 somehow, eventually mysteriously exploding in 1955, some say by magnetic mines, some say by just being soviet crewed Who knows Great vid as usual man, lol
I’m proud to state that there was a navigatori class destroyer that was named after my ancestor (Antonio da noli). Unfortunately it was sunk by a mine.
Roma and Giulio Cesare are my first time learning about Italian navy. I built handmade models of them they are some of my absolute favourite ships. Roma's fate is just so sad.
Hey Nautical, your contents are informative and funny, and so I subscribed....😂👌 In the future, will you make videos on the oldest ships still in active service?
Intresting fact Admiral Carlo Bergamini who was aboard the Roma when she was sunk by Fritz X bomb got a class of frigate named after him the first was in the 1960's through the late 1980's and more recently in 2011 as a FRMM Class frigate which design will served as the basis for the upcoming Constellation-class guided-missile frigate (FFG) of the US Navy.
I'd like to see a video on the ice carriers the us tried to build. That can be a humorous video even though none were completed. That or one on the liberty ships.
Fincantieri 🇮🇹is the most important naval group in Europe above Germany and France, Italy is the world leader in the construction of super yachts with a 46% share. Please, when you talk about the quality of Italian products, get informed and rinse your mouth🤫
It’s funny how you published a video about fascist Italy the day after the elections that saw a far-right post-fascist party winning. P.S.: Brothers of Italy, the party which got the most votes, is the heir of the MSI (Italian Social Movement) which was founded after WW2 by former officials and militants of the Fascist party.
Fascism isn't right wing... It's left wing. Read their doctrine and you'll find "the state" this and "the workers" that, it's literally just socialism with an EVEN MORE authoritarian rule. Nothing right wing about it, or have people forgotten what the right wing actually values.
That's literally british wartime propaganda, propagated by garbage tier english literature about the subject. which frankly is most of the english literature about the subject, they love to shit on things for no reasons.

Cesare is one of my favourite ships.
Screw you Soviets! You stupids doesn't how to take care a ship!
All the Axis and Allied warships that were handed over to the Soviets ended up as rusty wrecks.

Can't deny the littorio class is one of the good looking battleships, it looks very pleasing
Look better than Bismarck :D
I agree but that elevated rear turret annoys me a bit tho
Italy’s whole motto for the last century or so has pretty much been “Look, I can do that too!”
I’m proud to state that there was a navigatori class destroyer that was named after my ancestor (Antonio da noli). Unfortunately it was sunk by a mine.
Sank to a mine... literally the day after the war ended. That just purely encapsulates the luck of the Regia Marina.

Gotta love it when Nautical Study posts again 👌 He’s like Santa, he comes around once in a while and brings us gifts
Can you talk about the Iron ore freighters of the great lakes eventually?
I’m honestly shocked you had never heard of the Roma.
A Nautical Study video, these usually come out once in a blue moon. Thank you for the content

The Littorios were beautiful ships, equal to HMS Vanguard, second only to the Bismarcks and Scharnhorsts.

Nope I wouldn’t. Not because it’s an Italian ship or a newer one. I just refuse to be in the middle of the ocean in any sort of circumstance.

Are you incapable of posting videos in the afternoon? Your sleep schedule is concerning...
Fun fact, I thought I set this video to drop at like 10 AM but actually set it to 10 PM. Thanks for the concern though, I was awake at 10 PM anyway
At weary least, Regia Marina stood a chance, no matter how small, of defeating the Royal Navy. The Kriegsmarine was just a joke in comparison.
