I don't understand why these guys are being disingenuous. They know there is a huge difference between Reparative Therapy (RT) and Ex-gay Ministries (EM). It's not called conversion therapy, by the way. That is a term used by the left to demonize the practice. RT is a secular approach to help people. EM is usually a Christian support group or one-on-one discipleship counseling. Both were created to try and help the person dealing with their unwanted same-sex attractions. Sometimes they may overlap if the person chooses to receive both.
No matter how you feel about it, we can't go around denying people their right to receive counseling. I was a beneficiary of EM and it really helped me to have a biblical perspective and hope on the matter. And I know countless others who were helped by it. Sadly, this new law will ban not only RT but any religious help as well. A pastor, priest, rabbi, etc, will have his hands tied by the law when he can easily offer hope, prayer and restoration to someone with unwanted same-sex attractions. This REDUCES suicide because someone cares, listens and offers hope. To tell minors who despise their same-sex attractions that they have to accept it and embrace it, no matter what, is terrible news.
Imagine a child who was molested and, of course, years later he begins to have some identity issues because as a victim, he was exposed to a distorted, sexual behavior at a tender age. Now imagine that all you can offer him is the "gay life, come out and be proud". I don't think so! Enough abuse has been brought on the child, he needs help, hope and someone to walk him through it.

Interesting how Google, a presumably secular company, would have a speaker addressing religious organizations. It seems extremely outside the norm. Where are we heading with this? A Christian which hunt? "Look at what this Christian ministry did to me" A more balanced approach would be to have a speaker who has benefited from a ministry that helps believers who struggle with reconciling their same-sex attractions and their belief system. And then allowing the individual audience members to make up their own minds. Rather than a one sided approach to manipulate their feelings. And if we're talking about religious organizations and their view on homosexuality, another balanced approach would be to hear from Orthodox Jewish ex-gay ministries or Muslim ex-gay ministries. But honestly, what does this have anything to do with Google products? way out there....
