  • Tebirkes are so amazingly good. Tebirkes are like a Danish croissant or a poppy seed roll.Here we gave the recipe a twist by making our homemade tebirkes a little healthier ingredients. The filling we used was a remonce. I enjoy having these for breakfast with a little butter and strawberry jam.
    Danish Tebirkes recipe:
    ♥ Ingredients ♥
    1 tablespoon of honey
    1 teaspoon of active dry yeast
    1 egg
    1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
    1/3 cup of oat flakes
    2 1/2 cup of flour
    1 cup of milk
    1/2 a cup of yogurt
    1/8 cup of poppy seeds
    1 cup of butter
    Filling:
    1/2 a cup of butter
    1/2 cup of almond paste
    1/2 cup of sugar
    Bake for 20 minutes at 400 F degrees

    Thank you for making these! My husband is Danish and has been requesting I make these for him but I had trouble translating the recipes I found. Can't wait to try this recipe!

    You're so good at that TRICKY baking and so relaxed about the outcome of the final product Karen, I always fuss by grating the butter icy cold on a manual rasp before folding it into the dough .... and HOPE for a good flaky pastry. I have watched the poppy seed bun recipe also it, being one of my favourite toppings for bread plus, the Tiger crust! Rye bread is my first choice always and you have a recipe for that too which is a total disaster for me . Till next time! bye Karen! Thank you!

      nita Chamberlain Yes, there are several ways of baking. Sorry to hear that the rye bread did not turn out right for you. I might bake rye bread with a different recipe soon. Yes, I love rye bread.

    May I ask does this recipe differ from the original recipe? What were the extra healthy ingredients you added? Do they traditionally have sunflower seeds? Thanks!

      Reddressruby80 No, they don't always have sunflower seeds and the oatflakes. But, I like it that way (you can leave it out and add a little more flour).
