Sea lion Chasing King Penguins

While filming Gentoo penguins on the beach, I witnessed a sea lion run up on the beach and chase down its breakfast. As the seal gains on the King penguins, something unexpected happens. Watch to find out.

Well, I don't think this was the predatory type of sea lion, that is, the type that feeds on penguins. He was probably just trying to scare them away from his turf.

I swear that’s the same sea lion I saw at volunteer point in November 22! The penguins fish on that side, their nests are inland but there is a quiet lagoon about half a mile away inland they all play and swim about in peace. It’s such a gorgeous place

Seagull The Meme Lord Yep more faster than you’d think they’re actually more related to bears and things like canines actually if you look at how the seal lion runs and compare it to a grizzly bear it’s fairly similar.
Since their hind limbs are partly fused together sea lions are basically tripods. Hmm.

Actually, he got nervous about the guy with the camera sitting very quietly on the beach. He must've thought he'd catch the penguin before he got that close, but changed his mind after all!
