If Blackbolt suck so bad then why does he think it was such a bad ass moment when Thanos handed him his ass? I love all of Rob's videos and am very much a fan. But if his goal is to support comics then maybe the continued bashing of some of the same characters every video could turn off potential new watchers....to which he'd probably say "oh well" lol
Biggest thing to remember about THIS group of Exiles is that they're evil...outright (or at least their task is dark). Theres two separate groups out jumping through the multiverse. One 'fixing timelines' and helping...and this Hyperion group is the other group.
They are known as Team X in the comic. They do the dirty black op work the regular Exiles wouldn't touch. So of course the best team to put together would be a bunch of psychopaths and murderers. What could possibly go wrong? /s☹☹☹☹

Thanos' Uncle, who being Permanently imprisoned for the last 1/2 million years, was offered by Druig 60 seconds of freedom if only he agreed to use that minuscule minute to kill as many Deviants(Mutants) as he could on the planet Mars. Of course he agreed, & there he almost slaughter every single Mutant on the Planet single handedly with in less than a minute.This guy was soooo O.P. that He finished his assigned task early he still had a few seconds to spare to admire the beauty only a psychopathic mind could appreciate. After the agreed time lapsed & he returned back to his imprisonment thinking he accomplished killing every1. Magneto apparently survived the 1 Man Massacre, despite having his HEART❤ ripped from his chest. on Arako(Mars). Initially he still managed to continue living only by the force of sheer will & control over his powers, was able to still use his magnetism to control the iron in his blood to keep it circulating through his body to continue to deliver oxygen to his vital organs including most importantly his Brain. As an Omega lvl Mutant, with his immense experience & focus, honestly only a Cosmic powered God-like Being could stand a chance against him. 1st of all, They can't have blood, or atleast not the kind of blood that the majority of life forms that evolved on Earth developed. I.E.(Iron) Also Weaponry of anykind fashioned out of Metal is useless against him. Plus That trademark helmet he's famously known to always wear, shields his Mind from Telepaths using Psychic attacks. He also has complete control over the E.M.S.(Electro-Magnetic Spectrum) on a Planetary Scale. Making him capable of causing an Extinction Level Event killing every living thing on the planet just by switching the Earth's magnetic poles or disrupting its rotation. Also by using the power of Electro-Magnetism he can conjure up Impenetrable protective force-fields. Not to mention the obvious ability of Flight. That's why I love the old rendition of Mags' character when it was written by Stan Lee & Especially Chris Clairmont's direction he took Magneto's character development. They never compromised his power & strength for the sake of the story. The plot device they would usually use to wrap up the conflict would be either Prof X either talked him down or convinced him of the his erroneous methods. Or by getting to him emotionally and using his weak spot for saving and not harming or killing his fellow mutants. I loved how the X-Men couldn't win with violence, cause as a team they could never defeat him. That's why they formed the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants so the X-Men could have a team of antagonist to fight with on equal ground just to keep the fights interesting.
I'm tired of Magneto forgetting he has shields...

I miss Exiles, that series was so good
Exiles goes hard. I didn’t start reading comics until 2017, but 90’s comics are what made me a fan. There’s a lot of bad, but stuff like this and Starman are so unique and long running.
Only time Exiles started slipping is the 'New Exiles' run.
It was great, a forgotten gem.

@@rdee2254Oh god Chris Claremont’s overwriting problem was just so insufferable in that series! Because of the over reliance on expository dialogue his run just kept dragging _oooooonnn_ and _ooooooonnn,_ that by the end no one cared why that version of Kitty Pryde had kept randomly becoming different variants of herself or if Betsy Braddock would get over her s-word assault trauma by killing a multiverse version of her abuser before he kills all her variants (real subtle character work there Chris 🙄).
I mean, I even kind of liked his first two story arcs with the New Excalibur crossover miniseries that set New Exiles up(his New Excalibur run actually cleaned up in the end despite sharing a lot the same problems, so at least I can say it ended well, imo) and the alternate Earth where asteroids drowned the world and Sue Storm, the only survivor of the FF’s maiden voyage through space, married Namor and they ruled over a drowned world, but after that it was just so many diminishing returns.

Colossus doesn't need to breathe while in armor form. He should not have died from being thrown in space. 8:01 You missed General Thunderbolt Ross getting his neck snapped by Hyperion.

Yep… which is always dying. The writers never write him like doom or apocalypse where is a force to reckon with. Hopefully at his resurrection we see how powerful he really is .. or suppose to be

TBF, Magneto has some amazing moments in some universes, but in others....he just doesnt' understand his place in the bigger picture.
This was a moment to stand down and even if he didn't survive, his people would have, but instead, no one survived, because of his pride.

The most similar one to Superman is Hyperion. He's from another planet unlike the Sentry. And his planet was also destroyed unlike Gladiator.

Aw man. I friggin love the Exiles. I remember reading them just before I went to college (and then missed a heap of issues because I was a broke student with no comic book store in the bloody city I studied in!) but managed to catch up (online - if I remember correctly). Recently had to get rid of my entire collection (lonnnnnnnng story) but will try to find the collected edition of these as they are such awesome stories and I loved the rotating team....even though it was heartbreaking when you lost a member you'd grown fond of! Anywho...Thanks Rob
So this wasn't the main Exiles team. There were two. This team was the "weapon x" team that the timebroker specifically made to do the unsavory tasks. The main exiles team (mimic, blink, morph etc) are much more traditionally heroic. One of the best things about Exiles was that it kind of picked up What If? and served the same purpose for a while.

Hyperion just giving up and piecing out like that will never not be one of the most hilarious and brutal moments in comics.
I really enjoyed this era of the book, and having read it since the very first issue back in 2001 this storyline was a big departure from the stories that had come before it.
