you know - Jeanneau should LISTEN to you and FIX everything you mention. Why? It's mainly small stuff -- I am always amazed that companies can go YEARS without identifying these kinds of things. The fifty pound limit on the real pulpit actually pisses me off. Also, the emergency tiller placement -- baffling for a serious boat maker to treat emergency equipment as an after thought. Very good video. I'd LOVE for Jeanneau to make a response video saying they hear you and will FIX...!!!!!!

like the way this was organized - start with the take away / summary, then go in to the details. very helpful that way.

We’re with you on these dislikes! Another one for us is the placement of the gas regulator as you can’t put in a larger propane tanks. We ended up removing from the bulkhead altogether. Also we found cup expanders that solved the issue you highlighted.

We got the cup holder fixed. Plan on re-plumbing the propane locker too.

Thanks for your likes and dislikes videos. You've moved the Jeanneau 440 up the list of my next boat options list to get. I was leaning towards a Dufour 430 3 cabin 2 head , or the Jeanneau 490, but am OK with the Volvo Saildrive, but the 490 has the Yanmar Saildrive, and frankly, despite loving Yanmar Diesel engines, their Saildrive legs Suck Big time, which is a huge disappointment. BUT the SO 440 has Yanmar Direct Shaft Drive, which any Marine Service around the World can handle, big plus ! The 2 Cabin 2 head option with the Workshop makes a lot of sense too, plus your insight that a decent sized generator can be fitted, along with AC and Heating? though. I was thinking of standalone AC Units for lower Power needs. That Garage, looks like it's ideal for a Watermaker as well, and a large 2 drawer Freezer, to back up the Fridge in the Galley, do you think a single Pilot Berth could fit in there as well ! Or, would the settee by the table make a Berth with Lee cloths ? I'm thinking of having a very strong Cockpit Rear Arch made withn316 Stainless, for Solar Panels and a Decent Dinghy Davits mount, which could sort that Cockpit Pushpit Problem. Very cheap - relatively - Arch work like that, is possible in a place close to a Marina in Southern Spain, that Custom Measures, builds, and fits for under 2,000 dollars US, done by skilled craftsmen, so I may head there first. Also superb, is the Shoal Draft Keel version at about 5ft 2", which increases the places you can get to, to Anchor, which is about 6" less than the Dufour. That may not seem like much, but what a difference for places likevthe ICW, the Bahamas etc. Heck I think I've just talked myself into the 440 going to the top of the list. 🙂
Fair Winds and Happy Anchorages to you All. Bob. 👍🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇺🇲

We added two fridge freezers in the garage already. Got a video on that install.
There is room under the settee for the water maker plus the manifold is located there to make plumbing easy.
We have had no luck with an arch builder. It has to be cut into the rear pulpit on the sides to look right. One builder quoted us 30k so maybe we need a vacation in Spain.

My cousins were dealers til recently. They said the brand has turned to crap EXCEPT the large "Yacht" models (55, 60, and 65). Inexcusable to pay that kind of $ for a new boat and have chintzy, I-don't-care results.

Hi Guys, I am owner of 10 year old 44DS. Re your dislikes number 1: my boat same. I just use a strong cleaner to remove the stains. I have seen a stick-on moulding that deflects the water away from the boat. Cannot find it now sorry. Number 3: I optioned the outboard motor mounting bracket on the pushpit from Jeanneau. When I put my 20HP EFI Suzuki on it, it was obvious the pushpit mountings couldn't handle it and a reinforcing bracket had to made and installed. Number 5: I had 3 opening hatches without insect screens as per specs. They eventually gave me screens that didn't fit. Number 7: my boat was built in 2012. All ceiling panels fell down and warranty attempts failed. I have secured them all with screws with caps. I can't believe Jeanneau are still using hooktape! Number 10: I had same problems with placement of those magnets. Number 11: The cup holders are stupid and they don't seem to listen to their clients. If it doesn't take a can with cosy it's a waste of space. Number 12: I don't have that feature but will comment that you are understating the problem. An inadvertant discharge will require the removal of the generator in quick time. Very expensive. In conclusion: I've had many other issues and wish Jeanneau would learn BUT overall we love our boats.

It's easy to see why these things have annoyed you. Most are so easy to fix at build time. How is the salon for hand holds? It looks lovely and open but moving around in a decent sea state can be challenging if good holds aren't in reach. Our 43DS was not too bad but some later Jeanneaus we've been on have been a bit lacking. Thanks for the great video.

Hand holds well placed and for the price we paid yes some of these thing should have been done.

We are very pleased overall. She is easy to handle and we get good speed without being healed over. We have 2-3 years before we leave so plenty of time to outfit her. Next week she is getting an upgraded anchor.

Bonus dislikes?? Welcome to production boats. If you're going to buy new, and want and need specifics, have a custom boat built. Better mentality is to buy a used boat at half the price, or a fourth, and do the mods yourself,,, or just go sailing and not worry about it. Goofy

Kinda makes you think these boats are designed by interior designers who never sail.

I don't think you're nit picking, when you spend 400$ on a boat you'd think they would think of these things. But those cup holders were funny.
